《Dimitri's Promise》Chapter 31

Rosalie searched for Sage while Maddox dragged Dimitri outside to go for a short run. More like a walk in wolf form, considering the fact Dimitri was too weak to run.
It only took Rosalie an hour to find Sage, she was sitting in her father's office, reading through letters. Her eyes held rage as she stared at the old papers, when Rosalie had closed the door she looked up.
"My mom was horrible...." She whispered, looking back at the papers.
Rosalie frowned, "Those the letters she sent to your father?"
"Yeah, all she kept saying was that everyone hates him. Like she tries beating it into his head or something." She replied.
Rosalie smiled sadly and hugged the girl, "Well, it's our job to make sure your father knows he's loved. Especially when he thinks we hate him."
Sage frowned as she faced her, "What do you mean he thinks we hate him? He thinks I hate him?"
"He thinks the pack does and his brothers and you. He grabbed your jaw and yelled at you."
"I was angry at him, but I did challenge his title while he was already upset...talk about being stupid." Sage grumbled.
Rosalie grinned, "So, you don't hate him?"
"No, how could I? He stayed and raised us when Christine walked out on us. He protected us and almost died when those rogues attacked. If anything, I owe him."
"You don't owe him, he's your father, he will always protect you no matter what. Same with me, I'll protect you, your sister, and the pack no matter what. I'm your step-mother and the Luna of the pack." Rosalie said as she threw the letters back in the trash can.
Sage smiled softly, "I should talk to him, make sure he knows I don't hate him. Does he have low self esteem?"
"Eh, something like that. He just has trust issues because of Christine and the self confidence thing. I think it's more self hatred if anything."

"He'll get better, right? He has to before the alpha meeting."
"Why?" Rosalie asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
Sage gulped and picked up a letter from under a few folders. "See for yourself."
Rosalie took the letter and read it, her eyes widened as she dropped it. She ran her hand through her hair.
"Why is he doing this?" She asked to herself.
"I'm gonna kill him." Sage growled.
Rosalie sighed, "Not if I kill him first."
Sage followed Rosalie out of the office to find Dimitri. They walked outside to see him laying down in wolf form, watching his brothers train the pack. Rosalie sat beside him while Sage sat on the other side. Dimitri wagged his tail a little bit, but other than that, continued watching.
"Ya know, you look like one of those stuffed dead animals when you're barely moving." Sage observed.
Dimitri looked at her with confused eyes, Rosalie could imagine him raising his eyebrow. Sage grinned before looking back at the training.
"He's gonna fall." Sage stated.
They all watched as two warriors tackled each other, sure enough, the one warrior fell and the other pinned him down. Xavier nodded before talking to the one who fell.
"His balance was off." Rosalie voiced.
Dimitri barked his agreement, Rosalie and Sage chuckled.
"Do you need clothes or something?" Sage asked.
Dimitri whined and rolled on to his side, he then stretched to his full length and relaxed. Rosalie rolled her eyes at him.
"Just block the stairs why don't you?" She asked sarcastically.
"Use us as pillows, we're completely okay with that." Sage joined in.
Dimitri wagged his tail and barked again, he suddenly sat up and pricked his ears forward. A low growl escaped his mouth as he took off into the forest. Rosalie and Sage shifted, they quickly followed him through the trees.
They were both shocked by how fast he was going, considering he didn't eat for a whole week. They skidded to a halt as Dimitri tackled a trespassing wolf. The dark brown and white wolf snarled at him and grabbed Dimitri by the leg. Dimitri ignored him and rolled him over, with break neck speed, Dimitri had him pinned to the ground.

The wolf was completely still, his yellow eyes panicked as Dimitri had his mouth around his throat. One wrong move and Dimitri's teeth would cut through his flesh.
Dimitri glanced at his mate and daughter, waiting for one of them to shift back. Rosalie darted behind a tree and found an extra shirt before returning.
"Shift." Rosalie ordered in her alpha tone.
Dimitri let go as the wolf shifted, revealing a man who seemed beyond furious. The man glared at her before looking at Sage, a smirk grew on his face as he studied the pup. Dimitri quickly stood in front of her, baring his teeth at the man.
"Why would you bring a female who isn't fully grown? Surely, she isn't a threat to anyone." The man sneered.
Rosalie chuckled, "Oh, trust me, she's on hell of a fighter. She can easily handle a full grown werewolf, but we're not here to challenge her. We're here because you're trespassing on our land."
The man rolled his eyes, "Packs are completely stupid. Our land. It's not your land, it's land. Belongs to no one."
"Actually, the land was bought with actual money for this pack. We have ownership of the land, therefor, it's our land. Which means, it belongs to us." Rosalie replied with a smirk.
The man flashed her a glare, earning a growl from Dimitri. He groaned and sat on his butt.
"I was only looking for my brother, he ran in here a few hours ago." He sighed in defeat.
Rosalie frowned, "We didn't get any news that our warriors caught a rogue."
"Then that means he left. If you do find him, tell him that his brother said screw him." The man spat.
"What did he do?"
"Killed my girlfriend because she was annoying him."
Rosalie bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from laughing. She glanced at Sage who was rolling her eyes.
"We'll escort you out, we better not see you on here again."
The man nodded and shifted back, as Sage and Dimitri stayed in wolf form, Rosalie walked in human form. Once the man was far away from their territory they turned back towards home.
Rosalie patiently waited in the family room as Sage and Dimitri shifted back. Moments later they both walked in, covered in mud.
"What the hell happened?" Rosalie gasped.
Sage frowned, "He scared the living crap out of me."
"Well, you could have warn me you weren't fully clothed yet." Dimitri grumbled.
"I was trying to!"
"Okay, but that doesn't explain...this." Rosalie frowned.
"Oh, I slipped and fell in the mud. Grabbed onto something and it turn out to be her." Dimitri laughed nervously.
Rosalie have them a blank look before rolling her eyes. "I'm going to shower."
"What? I'm the one covered in mud." Dimitri groaned.
"Then take a shower." Rosalie smirked.
Sage paled, "Can you not suggest that in front of me?"
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you tell get it Rosalie when-
"Okay! I'm leaving now!" Sage shrieked as she ran off.
She ran back a few seconds later and hugged her father. "I don't hate you, stop thinking that." She told him sternly.
She then ran upstairs, disappearing down the hall.
