《Dimitri's Promise》Chapter 25

Two days had passed by quickly, Rosalie suddenly found herself walking through the dungeons with Dimitri. He was still wounded, but they had taken the stitches out. The doctor didn't know if the scars will stay or not, but Dimitri kept saying he didn't want them to stay.

Looking at his back she frowned, scars decorated his skin, scattered across like shards of a broken glass. She softly traced over them, at first Dimitri was tense, but he had relaxed after a while. There were a few wounds that were still a little bloody, but they were healing.

Dimitri had a little food the day before, but after that he kept saying he wasn't hungry. He would then lay there and stare at the wall, his eyes glazed over with thought. Rosalie was concerned about him, she could feel his pain through their bond, but she had no idea what it was from.

He's damaged, but she silently prayed he wasn't beyond repair. She loved him, yes, he had hurt her, but she still loved him. She knew that she had a long way to go before she would solve the mystery that is Dimitri Black.

They stopped at the first cell, sitting in the one corner was a female. Her hair was matted, but under the grime she could tell the woman had blond hair. Her brown eyes looked at her and Dimitri with regret, guilt, and fear.

Rosalie felt a little guilty for liking the fear and guilt she saw, but she didn't care. Her eyes darkened a little at the thought of this woman hurting her mate. She clasped her hands together and stepped back as Dimitri walked closer.

"Are you enjoying your stay?" Dimitri asked.

The woman gulped, "N-no."

"Do you understand why I had you punished?"

"Y-yes, Alpha."

"Why?"

"I betrayed you, I had watched them attack you and hadn't done anything. I enjoyed it." She said, her voice becoming a mere whisper.

Dimitri nodded, "Now, why did you? I never did anything to you, if anything, I had protected you since the day you were born."

She looked down in shame as the truth of Dimitri's statement sunk into her. "I...my father was joining in, so I thought it was the right thing to do. He said you deserved it, that you had injured our Luna."

Rosalie frowned and walked forward, she shook her head. "He didn't injure me."

The woman looked at her, "I'm sorry."

Rosalie studied the girl's face and sighed, she could see the honesty and sincere regret in her eyes. Dimitri looked at his mate, waiting for her decision.

Rosalie walked up to the girl and knelt before her. She smiled softly at her, "You're free to go. I can tell you're telling the truth. However, you do have two choices."

The girl nodded.

"For betraying your alpha you can either stay in the pack and be an omega for two weeks or become rogue."

The girl didn't hesitate to answer, "I'll be an omega for two weeks."

Rosalie nodded, "You know our rules for Omegas. The pack is forbidden to bully them or hurt them in any way, so no need to worry about that. You have to train four times a week. Also, you are to clean the packhouse on your assigned days. Other than that, you're free to do whatever."

The girl nodded, "Thank you, Alpha and Luna."

Rosalie stood up and stood to the side as Dimitri called two guards in. They walked in and unlocked the girl, they then carefully pulled her to her feet.

"She has three days to rest and get her strength back. Take her to the infirmary." Dimitri ordered.

The guards nodded, the one picked her up and carried her bridal style. Rosalie followed Dimitri to the next cell, as they stepped in the woman glared at Dimitri. However, when she noticed the angry look of her Luna, she bowed her head.

"I already know why I'm here." She started. "I had betrayed my alpha and I'm not sorry."

Dimitri nodded, "Why?"

"You injured our Luna, you abused her." The woman spat.

Rosalie sighed as she pinched her nose, "He didn't injure me."

The woman's eyes widened, "Wh-what?"

"He didn't injure me. We had an argument of sorts. But he never laid a hand on me."

"I...but that man had said..."

Dimitri furrowed his brow, "What man?"

"Alpha Eli."

Rosalie bit back a growl, "Xavier and Xander."

The brothers stepped into the cell, "Yes?" Xavier asked.

"Find Alpha Eli and bring him into Dimitri's office. Take three guards with him and keep him there until we're done here." She ordered.

They both nodded and walked out, bringing three guards with them. Damon and Rachel watched from the side as Rosalie faced the woman again.

The woman swallowed, this time, they could tell she was regretting her actions.

"I'm so sorry, Alpha. I thought....you know I was abused by my ex a few years back. I-I was angry that you, the one who helped me through my own abusive relationship, was abusing your own mate." She said, tears pooling in her eyes.

"I'm sorry."

Rosalie didn't have to study the woman for long, she simply used her connection to the woman and could tell she wasn't lying. She nodded towards Dimitri who looked at her.

"You're free to go, but have two choices." He began.

"You either become an Omega for two weeks and clean the training grounds after every session or become a rogue."

The woman smiled softly, "I'll become an omega."

It had continued like this for next two hours, a large number of them stayed with the pack as omegas for two weeks. There were six of them who were scheduled to be executed the next morning. They had promised Dimitri that they would kill him, they didn't care that he was innocent. They've hated him for a long time.

Rosalie was disgusted with them and had yelled at them. By the time she was done they pleaded with her, apologizing to Dimitri. However, Rosalie shook her head and walked out.

She felt little remorse for sentencing those six traitors to death. There was absolutely no honesty in them, she couldn't risk it. They had even threatened to kill Sage and Sara. She wasn't going to let that happen.

As they walked to Dimitri's office she grabbed his wrist and stopped him. He turned around and frowned at her.

"Everything okay?" He asked.

She sighed, "We can't kill him without starting a war."

"I know, I'm not planning on killing him. I don't need the council on my back about murdering an alpha. His uncle is one of them, so, I would be found guilty either way." He sighed.

Rosalie frowned, "We're banishing him from our territory and refusing to give him our land. Any deal that he was hoping for will be put down."

Dimitri smiled at her and kissed her on the lips, "I'm sorry for what I did."

"Dimitri...stop apologizing. I've already forgiven you."

He shook his head, "I'll never stop apologizing. Not until I know you're no longer hurting."

She furrowed her eyebrows before following him into his office.
