《Dimitri's Promise》Chapter 2

Dimitri ran his hand through his hair, trying to get the snow out of it. He finally gave up and walked inside the house, allowing the snowflakes to melt. He threw his jacket on the couch and sighed, he was excited for his mate to finally come home. She had spent the last three days in the hospital, she had a few problems with her heart, so they kept her. What made it even more exciting was the fact his son was coming home as well.

Throughout her pregnancy they designed their son's room. Of course he would sleep in the small crib in their room for a week or two, just until they're positive he'll be fine. His family bought loads of gifts for them and had even thrown a surprise baby shower for them just a few weeks before she gave birth.

He was a little nervous when his parents called, yelling at him for not telling them about finding a new mate and having a child with her. He had to explain to them that they were having many issues and he forgot. He felt guilty when his mother was crying on the phone, claiming she was heartbroken when she heard news of his death. They had ended the call with telling him they would be at the packhouse by Thursday afternoon.

That was yesterday.

He still didn't tell Rosalie, he wasn't sure of how to tell her without freaking her out. He never really talked to his parents since he met her, not because of her, but because of the rogues. He felt nervous about his parents coming over, his father is one of the most intimidating men he's ever seen. Even though he knows his father would never hurt him, he was still scary. He also has no problem with putting anyone in their place.

His father was tempted to go after Christine when he learned of her infidelity. However, Dimitri told him it wasn't worth it.

"When is mom coming home?" Sage asked, walking out of the kitchen.

Dimitri looked up, "Today. I'm going to pick her up in an hour."

"Is Elijah coming home too?" Sara asked, excitement evident in her voice.

Dimitri chuckled, "Of course!"

Both girls cheered before scrambling off to make sure everything in the baby's room was perfect. He rolled his eyes and laughed at them, his daughters were something else.

When three came around he left to pick up his beautiful mate. He sighed and took out the small black box in his pants. After being with Christine for seven years he never once thought of marrying her. There was still that part of them that didn't trust her, and turned out that part of him was right. But with Rosalie he knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with her.

Butterflies were fluttering in his stomach as he shoved it back in his pocket.

Now isn't the right time, needs to be more romantic. He thought to himself.

He parked the car and hopped out, he greeted his pack members as he walked through the halls. When he reached Rosalie's room he smiled. He admired the scene of her making sure their son was all ready to go.

"Ready?" He asked softly.

She looked up and gave him a tired smile. "Yeah."

He chuckled as she yawned, he gently stroked his son's cheek before picking up the carrier. He looked at Rosalie to see the exhaustion written all over her face.

"When we get home I'll watch over him, I want you to rest some more. Especially since that medicine hasn't worn off yet." He told her as he kissed her on the lips.

She smiled and nodded, "Thank you. But what if-

"Rose..."

"But what if he needs to be fed? I can't just-

Dimitri laughed, "I'll wake you up and then you can go back to sleep."

She nodded, reluctantly agreeing with him. When they returned home Sage and Sara attacked her with hugs. She laughed and kissed them both on the head before sighing.

"Go to bed." Dimitri whispered, gently placing his hand on the small of her back.

She frowned, "But the baby-

"Rose, he'll be okay. I have the girls to help me. Plus, I've raised a baby...well, babies before. Christine barely touched them after they were done breast feeding."

Rosalie nodded, knowing he had this. She kissed him once more before dragging herself upstairs. The girls carefully took their baby brother and started to rain kisses on him.

Dimitri raised an eyebrow before laughing. He ran upstairs and placed everything in the room before quietly sneaking into his and Rosalie's room. He smiled and kissed her on the head.

"Goodnight, beautiful." he whispered lovingly.
