《Dusk // Twilight // Emmett Cullen [ON HOLD]》15. Never Let Me Go

I hold her hand in both of mine and lightly press my lips to it. I drag my thumb across her knuckles and sigh. Alice didn't see what happened, but the report says she was hypothermic and lost a lot of blood. It doesn't take much to put the pieces together. He beat the hell out of her then locked her in the freezer. Her knuckles are busted on one of her hands, she had to have fought back in a way. They'll release her back into his care, just like they always do. He'll find a way to make it seem like the obvious didn't happen. It's snowing, he'll probably say she fell down a hill and was stuck in the snow for a while before he got to her. It's just sick. I don't see how anyone could do that. Her eyes slightly flutter open. She gives me a confused look.
"Emmett? I thought you left already?" She says.
"I had to make sure my princess was alright." I slightly smile at her. She smiles sleepily and squeezes my hand.
"You came back for me."
"I always come back for you." I state.
"I love you." She says.
"I love you too Alli." I say.
"How long have you been here?" She asks.
"Six hours." I reply. "You'd already been here for three when I got here."
"You're not staying are you?" She questions.
"I'll be back for your birthday, maybe a few nights before." I state.
"That's a month away. A lot can happen in one month." She whispers.
"Hey, if you need me, I'll get here as soon as I can, I promise." I say. "Because I can't live in a world without Allison Taylor Blaine Tucker." She smiles softly.

"They're making me go back with him aren't they?" She asks. I nod and she sighs.
"I don't like it either, but there's nothing we can do about it without risking your safety even more." I reply.
"Police won't let him near me." She shakes her head.
"The publicity would kill you. Everyone would question you constantly. Otherwise I'd say go for it." I say.
"They didn't believe me." She whispers.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"They didn't believe me, when I told them. I told everyone I could think of. They wouldn't believe me." She states. "I tried to tell them when I was little, but they wouldn't believe me. Not even Uncle Spencer. Everyone just said it was a start to schizophrenia, that I was just like my grandmother. They said it was how I was coping with my mother's death. Garcia didn't believe me, not Hotch, not Rossi, not Gideon, not Derek, not JJ, not Emily, not Charlie, not Billy, not the teachers, not the neighbors, no one but my grandmother believed me. Everyone else just thought I was delusional. I tried telling people when I was younger, but no one would believe me."
"Not even the hospital?" I raise an eyebrow.
"I think Carlisle did, if he did he didn't show it, but if he truly did he would have done something about it." She says.
"Why didn't you keep trying?"
"I tried for two years. Then dad found out and told me if I told anyone else that he would kill me." She replies. "Then about nine years later you guys found me." She shakes her head. "I wanted to tell someone, but I thought he'd kill me too. They definitely didn't believe me when I said he's the one that killed my mother. Everyone just thought I was schizophrenic, or that because they couldn't tell me what really happened that I created something subconsciously so I had an understanding if what happened." She pauses. "The fact that Grams was the only who believed me didn't exactly help case either. She never really liked him anyways."

"Did Spencer take you to see her?" She nods in reply. "He still picks on you about your hair doesn't he?"
"Yeah, but he's being hypocritical. He needs to cut his hair more than what I do." She smiles. "He bought me a 54 ounce bag of skittles though, so he's good for now."
"What is it with you and skittles?"
"Shut up, they're the closest thing to a childhood that I'll ever have." She retorts.
"I love you so much."
"I love you more muscle head." She lightly punches my shoulder. I smile at her and caress her cheek lightly.
"I'll see you soon princess." I kiss her forehead before leaving.
