《One night.》1.

Fear was engulfing her heart and she could feel the tears stinging her eyes begging for freedom to flow but all she know is that she cannot let them flow today, she was feeling uneasy and her heartbeat accelerated when she saw her mother coming inside the room with a frown on her face.
Her mother looked at her and hissed silently underneath her breath "He said you should come." And that was it she went out even before she could reply her.
Looking at her four years old son who was jumping on the bed she stood up with a smile on her face and then sat on the bed dragging his hand so that he can come closer to her and she adjusted him on her laps "You have to be a good boy okay,am going to the hospital for an injection," his face showed his disdain for injection and she just chuckled thanking God that she have at least this lie to make him sit back at home silently without making a fuss "So I will go and come back quickly, you should be a good boy and no tantrums okay?" And he quickly nod his head "Okay."
She softly kissed his cheeks then walked out of the room with a worried look as she entered her father's parlor.
She sat down on the floor uncomfortably "Good day Abba." The old man looked at her and rolled his eyes "You know that this is the 10th man you are meeting right?" Ofcourse she knew but why was he rubbing it on her face? it is not like she have any other choice does she?
"Yes." She curtly replied even though she hates having that conversation but she knows better than ignoring her father,he is looking for the tiniest mistake she would make so that he will be able to throw her out of the house for good.
He looked annoyed but still maintained his present demeanor "Good get going before you make a bad impression, punctuality is really important incase you don't know." She lightly exhaled in and out as she nod her head and stood up to go out.
She knows that she cannot say no to whatever her father say, but it is still early, the lunch date is by 2:00pm then why is she going by 1:00pm? When the restaurant is just 3 minutes away from the house, she let out a breath of exasperation as she silently prayed that everything goes right this time around, she doesn't have the strength to face all her parents tantrums yet again.
Deep down she knows that it is not ending well but she still held onto the last string of hope she had left praying that it doesn't break into pieces.

Her mother came out and sneakily walked to her "Don't tell him about that son of yours okay?" She said looking around to ensure that nobody was looking at her.
She felt pained that she was being asked to hide her son just to get a suitor for herself,it is not the poor boy's mistake for crying out loud, her family need to understand that "I cannot start a relationship based on a lie." That was her reply and her mother eyed her before she stormed away not before mumbling "I guess you are still not tired of all this."
She walked to the restaurant and ordered a drink and meat pie for herself thanking God that her father gave her some money the day before if not she would have looked like a fool sitting there for one hour without ordering anything.
After one and a half dreadful lonely hours a handsome guy walked in with a blue kaftan,he had a very cute smile that she couldn't help but smile back when he waved at her.
"Am sorry for making you wait, the traffic is so bad today." He said with a very tight smile and she smiled back shaking her head negatively "No it is okay actually I didn't wait for a long time." That was a total lie but their is a hint of truthfulness in her words, their was a time her dad made her come 2 hours earlier and the guy was one hour late so she doesn't mind his 30 minutes at all.
He called the waiter to take his orders "What would you like miss?" The guy asked totally not knowing her name,he just saw her picture in the list of people that want to go on a blind date "Yusrah,I don't need anything." With an appreciating smile on her lips she denied his hospitality softly but he just shook his head "No at least order something light."
"No am fine thanks." And the waiter left with a bow.
The guy turned to her and smiled not taking his eyes off her in-fact he was looking at her like his eyes were going to enter every part of her body "Yusrah such a lovely name, mine is Bilal." And she just smiled nodding her head a little feeling uneasy under his gaze "Stop staring too much,it is somehow." She finally got the courage to utter and he just laughed like she said something funny.
He continued laughing and that was getting on her nerves "You are really funny." He said in between laughs and she let out a fake chuckle which was obvious.
"So for now without wasting much of our time I think we should exchange number because I already feel like this is going to work out between us so yeah it is worth giving it a try." Immediately after he closed his mouth she smiled gleefully because she is sure that her father will stop taunting her after hearing this news "Yeah sure." She was excited in a way words cannot say.

"So let's get to proper introduction." He said clapping his hands and she smiled willing to go first.
She was about to start when she went out of words, she doesn't even know what she will say about herself after her name, she was quite for longer than she is supposed to be so he just started "Am Bilal Muhammad Aliyu and am 30 years old, I work in a car garage and I studied Engineering,am an extrovert and am out of words right now." He laughed at his joke but she just stared at him which made him scrunch his face in utter confusion "I have a bad sense of humor." She clarified and he nodded his head.
"I am Yusrah Umar Kabir and am 22 years old,am am introvert." Well she would want to rephrase that to forced introvert because she cannot forget the fact that she was an extrovert but now she is forced to become an introvert which she seems to feel quite comfortable with for now.
He moved back and adjust himself on the chair "Your educational status?" She became tight lipped as she finally gulped down the lump in her throat and replied "I stopped at secondary school." She replied chewing her lips nervously and he just nod his head with a smile even though disappointment was clearly written visibly on his face.
They continued talking and getting to know each other more when she finally decided to drop the bomb to him "I have a son." And he looked frozen for a moment before he cleared his throat "So you have once being married?" That is the question that she feared the most even though she get asked this question nearly everyday but she still can't wrap her head around it and get used to it,all she knows is that she needs to face her reality without letting herself indulge into delusion "No I have never been married." She chewed on her lips again to stop her tears because his reaction is making her lose that string of hope she had.
He cleared his throat again and gulped his drink before he looked at her with no ounce of smile on his face "Clarify." That was all he said "I got pregnant without getting married." She said looking at the table and Bilal laughed a little "And you were acting all holy holy when you got pregnant out of wedlock." She hates people like him, judgmental people.
She gulped back her anger because she was in no position to start fighting, nobody will understand her situation except her and she left it to herself "Have you been raped?" He said that as if realization hit him but she painfully shook her head wishing that was the case.
She slurred bitterly "I wasn't raped." and Bilal kicked the table with red eyes "Do you know what that makes you?" He question and she shook her head in pain wiping off the stubborn tears that were falling down "It makes you a prostitute and I cannot marry one." That was all it took him to storm out of the restaurant and she stood there like a statue adamantly shaking her head negatively "I am not a prostitute."
She walked out of the restaurant because she couldn't handle the eyes that were peering on her.
She walked deep in thoughts as tears rolled down because she knows that she have to face another drama which will make her feel more vulnerable than she is already when she reach home.
She wasn't looking at people but her eyes fell on that one person whom she cannot ever forget his face, the person whom she had been looking for.
Five good years she looked for this person but she didn't find him,she doesn't even know his name but his thoughts were with her at every moment of her life, she didn't even realize when she ran to him and stood infront of him with tears.
"I have finally found you."
Those words went out without permission and the guy stood there strangely looking at the girl whom he isn't familiar with.
"Excuse me?" He question and more tears rolled down her eyes.
Yes she knows that he doesn't know but at least he should remember even if it her face only.
"I am that girl." She knows that her answer sounds stupid but Ofcourse that was all she could say.
He was now more confuse "Which girl?" And she felt like slapping him hard on his face "Sorry it is not you never mind." She walked away leaving him in daze of what just happened.
She had to do that because he couldn't remember him and she cannot blame him for that.
She can't also tell him that she is the girl from that One night because he won't remember.
