time travel au :)
— (y/n)'s pov
"goodbye, 3040!" i yelled before slamming my hand down onto the watch attached to my wrist. "hello, 7330." i shoved my hands into my 'thrifted' hoodie. the one i got from the year 2030.
after going through the wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, i finally appeared in what i hoped to be my destination. i looked around at the two-story house i landed in front of. i shrugged my shoulders and started to walk inside. once i opened up the door, the smell of a suburban home hit my face.
"hello?" i called out, hoping someone would tell me the date. a man that looked to be early twenties came around the corner.
"chris, finally you-" he stopped his sentence when he saw me.
"youre not chris..." he said. i shook my head.
"whats the date, sir?" i asked, trying to be as polite as possible.
"um... july 2019..." he said. i slammed my foot on the floor, muttering curses in a futuristic language i learned.
"right, ill see myself out." i said as i turned on my heel.
"wait!" his hand landed on my shoulder before he turned me around. "who are you?"
i took a deep breath in and looked him in his eyes.
"you dont really need to know." i stated, heading towards the door again. he sprinted towards the door and blocked it.
"who are you? youre the one that came into my house!" his voice rose, getting close to a yell as he demanded answers. i ran a hand through my hair as i contemplated on telling him who i truly was.
"(y/n) (y/l/n)." i said.
"whyd you come here?"
"you dont ask alot of questions, do you?"

we both chuckled for a bit. as he was laughing i notice how cute he was.
you cant fall for him! he lives in the past! youre from the future! i thought to myself. he looked at me with a smile that made my heart flutter.
"alright, i wont hold you hostage." he stepped out of the way of the door. something in me didnt want to leave, but i had to. i nodded towards him and made my way out the door. he started to say something as i stood in the door frame.
"can i get your number?" he asked. i winced at his words and turned around.
"dont have a phone, sorry." i tried to sound innocent but it probably came out harsh. his facial expression turned a bit sad.
"oh, see you around i guess." he said, waving me off. i gave him a half smile as i made my way to his front yard where i came from. i turned my head to make sure he wasnt watching me. i pressed my watch, expecting it to work, but i didnt budge.
"huh?" i made a confused sound as my lip rolled up. i continued pressing the buttons over and over.
"no, no, no, no!" my stomach churned, becoming more worried. i slapped both of my hands over my eyes as i fell to my knees.
"I HATE LIFE!" i screamed. i threw myself on the ground before wallowing in self pity for a bit, thinking of what went wrong.
after a couple minutes, i stood up and brushed the grass and leaves off my clothes. i made my way back to the boys door, knocking on it. i stood there, tapping my foot.
"come on, i dont have all year." i said, getting agitated. the door finally swung open, revealing the dark haired boy. before he was able to invite me in, i pushed my way through.

"do you have any tools? screw drivers, theowaves, hammers?" i asked, moving my hands as i spoke.
"theowaves? whats that?" his face scrunched up as the confusion was loud and clear in his voice. i felt like all the blood had drained from my body.
"um, i meant..." i looked around, trying to find an excuse. "a wrench!"
his face didnt move an inch. i sighed, letting every last bit of air out of my body before breathing it back in again.
"look, i need your help." i said. he stepped closer.
"go on..."
"dont freak out but... im a time traveler..." i raised my eyebrows, hoping he would follow my directions. to my luck, he did the opposite.
"no way! whats it like? what year are you from? you look like youre
from this time though. did i ever hit 100 million subscribers?" he fired off questions. i put my face in my hands and groaned. i heard him take a couple steps closer to me.
"sorry, i didnt mean to freak out." he said. i looked up to him.
how could i be mad at you? i smiled softly at him, then snapped back into reality. i took the watch off of my hand and sat it on the counter.
"i need any tools you can find." i said. he nodded and started scavenging around the house as i took the watch apart. after a few minutes, the taller boy came back, dropping the tools on the table.
"i found these." he said. i looked up at him, our eyes locking instantly. in all the old movies, the main characters would always kiss at a moment like this. i tried to think of something else other than the closing space in between us. wait, closing space?
as the thought quickly ran through my head, a pair of soft lips landed on mine. i put a hand on his chest, the other going behind his neck, trying to pull him closer. his hands wandered my back until they found a spot on my waist. the kiss ended when we both pulled away for air. his cheeks turned bright pink.
"sorr-"
"the watch can wait." i cut him off, pushing the watch away. i wrapped my arms around his neck as i pressed my lips to his. he lifted me up and sat me on the counter. i smiled and ran a hand through his hair.
after making out like two teenagers, i pulled away, catching my breath.
"the funny part is," i chuckled as i tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "i dont even know your name."
"its jimmy." he said. i nodded.
"okay, jimmy." i responded. he laughed a bit before pecking my forehead. he picked me up bridal style before making his way to the couch. he sat us both down, covering up with blankets. my legs were in his lap as my back rested against the armrest. i watched his face in the orange tone sunset coming through the window.
god, why couldnt i just stay with him forever.
