《1 in 6000 (MrBeast x Reader)》Chapter 41

I was happy that Jimmy hadn't volunteered to drive. Partially because I wouldn't have felt safe being driven by the sleep deprived man, and partially because he made an extremely comfortable - and slightly bony - pillow. He had tried to rest his head on my shoulder when we first entered the car, however I had simultaneously attempted to do the same thing, leaving me with what I assumed would be a small bruise on my head, and a lifetime worth of apologies from Jimmy. I had tried to fall asleep many times, but whenever we went over a pothole, my head would slam into Jimmy's shoulder, and his head would bounce off the frame of the car. All in all, it was a pretty painful, and slightly awkward experience, and when the airport came into view, we were both relieved, knowing that soon we would have slightly more comfortable chairs, and a few hours to sleep without interruption.

The half hour or so was such a blur, we had arrived a little late, and were rushing to reach the right place in time to board the plane. Chandler, however, seemed to think that it was the perfect time to spend most of his "souvenir money" on overpriced airport drinks, not realizing that he wouldn't be able to take them on the plane. Chris had warned him of this, from the second he picked up the drinks in the aisle, to the baggage area, in which he was told - much to my amusement - that he would have to either throw them away, or drink them. "Any normal person would throw that much liquid away." Jimmy told me in hushed tones, watching our friend chug the bright red soda, before immediately opening another one and doing the same.

Onlookers were watching with disgust, and a few were discussing how impressive the sight before them was. "It's making me feel sick." I laughed, almost being able to see the drink making his stomach expand. We all clapped as Chandler finished the last gulp of his last drink, slamming it down on the table in front of him as if it were the biggest achievement he's ever made. The hushed voices of people we didn't know were drowned out by Chandler cheering for himself. "I love him." I told Jimmy, not quite knowing what else to say after the scene unfolded in front of me. I'd never quite seen anything like it before, but it was safe to say, I wasn't surprised. It was Chandler after all.

"I love him too, but he better not sit next to us, otherwise he'll be getting up every two minutes to take a piss." Jimmy said, earning a nervous laugh from me as we continued our journey towards the boarding area.

The plane ride itself was rather uneventful, and I can't really remember most of it. I do however remember Jimmy snoring really loud at one point, loud enough to wake us both up with a bit of a fright, and earn a few giggles from the people seated around us. His face was bright red for a little while over that, and he almost refused to give in to how tired he was, over the worry it might happen again.

The almost five hour flight felt like 10 minutes, and I managed to wake up feeling a little bit more refreshed than I had done earlier, and I was extremely thankful that I was woken up by Jimmy this time, instead of by Chandler screaming at me. Speaking of which, Chandler had decided that the toilet in the airplane was "scary" and was too afraid to use it after his first use, so Chris was left with the hyperactive boy bouncing around in his seat trying not to piss himself. I was told he'd caught it on video, but it wasn't any good, as Chris had filmed his crotch the entire time in hopes that he might have an accident.

Soon enough, we had loaded up a couple of cars we had gotten from the rental place near the airport, and we were starting the two hour journey towards Slab City. This time, Jimmy was driving, and I was struggling to function after not having eaten all day. "Do you want to stop for some food?" Jimmy asked in response to my stomach growling, I chuckled, about ready to agree, but my words were stolen by Chris, "Yes." He replied, "I'm so hungry." I turned in my seat to look at him, but he was already googling the closest place to get some food. "There's a Maccy's about five minutes away." He told Jimmy, a huge smile on his face, and before he could even get an acknowledgement from Jimmy, he said, "I'm texting the guys the directions. Turn right in about 2 minutes Jim." I was happy I wasn't the only one with such an obsession towards food. "Yes, sir." Jimmy barked sarcastically.

"So what if we get murdered?" I asked, as we all sat around a table in McDonald's, Jimmy put his arm around my waist, making my skin tingle, "We won't get murdered." He replied, in an attempt to reassure my feigned worry.

"But what if we do?" Chris replied, his mouth full of burger. "What if some crazy dude raids our tent with a knife?"

"Then it's every man for himself." Jimmy joked, "Apart from Y/N." he pulled me in closer to him, "Then it's every woman for herself."

I pulled away quickly and lightly punched his arm, a look of shock on my face. "Abuse!" Jimmy shouted, his face contorting into one that looked hurt.

"I don't know what you guys are worried about." Tareq said, having the decency to swallow his food before speaking. "In found footage movies, it's always the guy who has the camera that gets killed first."

I nodded my head at him in agreement, "Well in that case, would you like to be buried or cremated?" He threw a chip at me in response, of which caught Chandler's attention.

"What are we talking about?" He asked, a hint of ketchup on the corner of his mouth, and crumbs caught in his stubble. He really was a precious little soul.

"We're just talking about murder." Jimmy told him, earning a goofy smile from Chandler.

"I'll be safe, I'm tall so I can run fast." He replied, burping loudly.

As soon as we'd finished our food, we all piled into our retrospective cars, and continued the last half hour of our journey. Tareq was worried that the eggs that had been smuggled into his suitcase might have smashed during the plane ride, and spent the whole time in the back of the car stressing about it, so as soon as we pulled up to Salvation Mountain, he and Chris hopped out of the car and rummaged around in the back to check, leaving Jimmy and I alone in the car.

"I just want you to know that - even though I do them a lot - trips like this really stress me out, and you've made me feel so calm and happy, so thank you." Jimmy told me, holding my hand and locking eyes with me.

My stomach erupted in butterflies again, causing me to be at a loss for words for the hundredth time since I'd known Jimmy. At times like this, I usually resorted to humor, but by the look in Jimmy's eyes, and the slight redness in his cheeks, I knew this wasn't the time, "Well you're always making me feel calm and happy, so I'm really glad I can return the favor." I told him, knowing my words didn't quite make as much of an impact on him, as his did on me.

"You're amazing." He told me, completely sincere as he leaned towards me, pressing his lips lightly against mine.
