《1 in 6000 (MrBeast x Reader)》Chapter 22

A/N: My internet went down so I couldn't update, but I'll post another chapter tomorrow to make up for it. Two updates in two days, aren't you a lucky ducky
I could hear Jimmy muttering from the top of the stairs, and it took me a few seconds before I realized he was talking to me. I gathered all of the energy I had and pulled myself off the couch, not quite wanting to say goodbye to it just yet, however we had to be at work within half an hour, and time spent in that blanket goes by very quickly.
I stepped into the landing just as Jimmy began walking down the stairs. His hair was still slightly wet from his shower, and it pointed out at awkward angles, it was adorable. "Sorry I took so long, I thought you might have fallen asleep when you didn't answer." He told me. I patted my hair down and smoothed out my clothes a little bit. I wasn't quite sure if I had fallen asleep, however I definitely felt a lot more dazed than I was when we got here. He smiled at my actions, and my sarcasm got the better of me. "Are you saying I look tired?" I asked. "How rude". It seemed that Jimmy knew my humor, as he'd never once looked offended by anything I'd said or done. This was proven by Jimmy simply laughing and saying, "Yes."
I watched as he ruffled his hair in the mirror, smoothing it down and almost trying to back comb it with his fingers in places. It was nice knowing that he didn't put 400 hair products in it, his hair was just naturally shiny. I imagine it would be very soft too. "You ready to go?" He asked. I nodded and had a quick look at myself out in the mirror. I didn't look as tired as I thought I would've done, with barely any sleep and a brief nap. "Can I take your blanket with us?" I joked, following Jimmy towards the front door. "I'd say yes, but it has a habit of making me fall asleep." He told me, and I laughed, "God damn it, I'll just have to steal it later."

We made our way back to the car, and I took this time to look down his road. It was full of rather large detached houses. It was shocking to think that I only lived a little over 10 minutes away from this area. Looking at the state of my neighborhood to this one, you'd think I was living in a dystopian world. Every house had a lovely front garden, and huge arched windows. I could only wish that I lived in one of them, especially if they all had carpets like Jimmy's. I wouldn't be surprised if my apartment looked even worse when I got back home.
Jimmy opened the passenger side door for me. "M'lady." He said, gesturing towards the seat, I found myself blushing, I knew he was only calling me that as a joke, but even though it was cringy as all hell, I found myself wishing that he was being serious. I took a seat and tried to sit as upright as I could to keep myself awake. Jimmy closed the door and made his way around the front of the car. He looked as if he was trying a little too hard to walk normally, almost as if he could feel my eyes on him, and he didn't want to embarrass himself by tripping over his own feet. I knew that feeling all too well.
"So what do you think of my place?" He asked, a hint of nervousness in his face, like he was seeking my approval. "I love it." I told him. "Your carpet looks comfier than my bed, and everything is so clean and shiny." I saw a smile appearing on his face, he was clearly happy with my answer. "I'm really happy you do. I shared my last place with Chris, and it was a typical man cave, with shit everywhere." He said, "I really wanted this place to be more grown up." I chuckled, knowing full well what he meant. When I first moved into my apartment I struggled to keep it clean, especially being so busy with college. The dishes and the washing would get on top of me so quickly, and it was hard training myself to get into a routine of doing everything.

We continued with the general chit chat and jokes until we pulled up outside of the warehouse. The same excitement in me that was there yesterday, however I didn't feel as nervous today, especially after spending the last 24 hours with Jimmy. He had a habit of making me feel comfortable. "Chris and I have got a couple of bits to film for my other channel, but I think Bailey wanted to show you a couple of bits anyway." The same expression as he had yesterday appeared on his face as he mentioned Bailey, but it was only for a millisecond before he turned and smiled at me. "I'll come and grab you for lunch though, I can show you this cool take-out place round the corner." I beamed at him, and told him that I was looking forward to it.
We both got out of the car, and made our way towards the building. "Hey guys wait up!" Chandler shouted from across the parking lot. Not quite as energetic as yesterday, but still bubbly. He almost skipped over to us, his feet bouncing off the ground. Jimmy greeted him with a pat on the back and a smile, it was so sweet. "Hey Chan." I said, "Hey Y/N, didn't think you'd want to spend anymore time with us." He said, winking rather badly at me, as he linked arms with Jimmy and I, coming in between us and pulling us forwards. "I didn't want to, you smell." Jimmy and I laughed as Chandler pulled a sad face. "To think I was going to give you a gusher." he said, pulling a pack out of his pocket and waving it in front of my face. "No! Chandler I was joking! Forgive me!" I semi-shouted as he started walking away from us. "Never! I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight!" He laughed as he entered the warehouse.
"Don't take it personally, he wouldn't have given you a gusher if you'd given him $100. They're too precious to him." Jimmy told me, opening the door for me and putting his hand on my back in sarcastic comfort.
