《1 in 6000 (MrBeast x Reader)》Chapter 11

My jaw must have hit the floor. "Cheers!" They both exclaimed, tapping the rims of their glasses against mine. I don't think I even moved, what did they mean 'new job'? I shook my head trying to clear my thoughts, "What?" was all I could muster. Whilst my brain was working at the speed of light, it felt like it was compensating by putting the rest of my body in slow motion. It felt like all of the questions I had were stuck in the back of my throat, not being able to reach the tip of my tongue. Jimmy and Chris looked at me and laughed, the curiosity in my face being so painfully obvious, and they obviously knew much more about what they were talking about than I did.
"Yes." Chris said, shooting me an even cheekier grin than usual, enjoying the amount of anticipation they were putting upon me. "See now, Jimmy here, whilst he is a gentleman, who would never go routing through a ladies handbag, couldn't help but notice that there were a couple of resumes sticking out of the top." He smiled, "And even though we all have amazing ideas for T-Shirts and hoodies, Jimmy thought it would be best if we found someone who had better ideas." He chuckled a little bit. I felt like the room was spinning. I looked at Jimmy, who was smiling back at me, the room span even faster. "That's if you'd like to join my little team." He asked, flashing his dimples at me again. I don't think I could've said no even if I wanted to. I nodded my head, trying not to appear over eager. "I'd love to!" I exclaimed, beaming at him. "Great!" He semi-shouted, "Told you it was a celebration." He winked, and my cheeks heated up, I took a sip from my champagne, trying to contain my excitement.

"Fucking hell, Jimmy, you don't know how much I appreciate all of this." I told him, giving him the most grateful and genuine smile I've ever given anyone. To think, it was only a day ago that I was getting worked up about having nothing to do with my life. Jimmy smiled back, setting his glass on the table. He clapped his hands together, which certainly woke Chris up a little, as I saw him jump out of the corner of my eye. "Right, presents!" He exclaimed, pushing himself off the couch and grabbing the bag that Chris has bought in with him. "You're going to need a couple of things for your new job." He said, struggling with the weight of the bag. I shook my head, "Jimmy, you didn't have to do any of this, let alone anything more!" I said, he simply shook his head right back at me. "Nonsense, we give all our editors stuff to help them out, and with you being our graphic designer as well, you've got to have all of the best shit." My stomach did a little flip when he said 'our graphic designer', it had been one of my biggest dreams to have a career in the art field, and now it had come true.
He sat back on the sofa, pulling the first item out of the bag. "So the first thing is this, it's a Laptop as well of a tablet, and you can flip the screen and use it as a drawing pad if you want." I looked in amazement, it was so pretty, shiny and silver, and it looked so expensive. He placed it on the table, placing his hand back in the bag. "Oh, and this is a pen for it as well." He put that on top of the laptop. Even the pen looked expensive! I was slightly speechless, the idea of someone having this much money was so foreign to me, I didn't know what to say. "This is just a little upgrade to make it easier to keep in contact with all of us." He handed me an iPhone X, something I never knew I wanted until I had it. "Wow." I said, not being able to push any other words out of my mouth. "Yeah we didn't know what phone you had, and this is the same as mine, so I thought you'd like it." I pulled my phone out of my pocket, the screen smashed and the glass back shattered to the point of which you could see the mechanics on the inside. The phone being broken wasn't my fault, it was due to one of my college acquaintances borrowing it and then proceeding to drop it down a flight of stairs, I could never afford to get it replaced. "A much needed upgrade it seems." Chris joked. I laughed, smiling up at Jimmy, who looked as though he was in his element. "Thank you, Jimmy." I finished my glass of champagne, noticing that my hands were shaking slightly. Jimmy grabbed the bottle, filling my glass once more full of bubbles, I chuckled at him, "Trying to get me drunk are you?" He shook his head, giving me another one of those cute smiles, "Only if you're a lightweight." He topped up his own glass, and also Chris', who had made himself even more comfortable in the armchair. "One more thing." He said, pulling a PS4 out of the bag. "This one's just for you, there's a couple of games in the bag as well, I didn't know what you'd like so I just got you a bunch." I laughed at him, "Now that one, you didn't have to do, Jimmy." He gave me a cheeky grin again, "I just hate money." He said, something that I'd heard multiple times in his videos.

We chatted a little more about my new job, finances, location, and when he would like me to start. Unsurprisingly, he was very generous with wages. I was so happy, I couldn't help but wonder how unequivocally lucky I was for being in the right place at the right time. We finished off the champagne a little too soon, and they had to get off home. I think Chris was a little relieved, as he seemed to be falling asleep in the chair. Even more so after he had to finish off Jimmy's last glass of champagne, due to him driving. I was a little sad to see them go, but I would see them again the day after tomorrow, bright and early at their warehouse.
I gave Jimmy the biggest hug, my stomach doing flips the whole time I had my arms wrapped around him. He must have been getting annoyed with me saying 'thank you' by this point, but I didn't care, he'd brought it upon himself. I gave Chris a hug as well, wishing him a good nights sleep, and jokingly apologized for being the reason he had to come out. "See you soon, Y/N" Jimmy said. "I can't wait." I responded, closing the door behind them both.
