《1 in 6000 (MrBeast x Reader)》Chapter 6

Jimmy's car was very spacious. It had a leather interior, and it was so extremely comfortable. I looked at all of the buttons on the dashboard, every one of them doing things that would be considered far from necessary. He sat next to me in the drivers seat, starting the engine, and immediately pressing a whole host of buttons. The music started, the seats began heating up, and the LED lights underneath the dashboard put on blue glow on my shoes. It was a nice ride, and I was a little jealous. The last car I had, had a cassette player and no A/C. I could've only dreamed of a car like this.

For the first half of the journey we didn't really talk, Jimmy was concentrating on which way to go, giving me the impression that he didn't usually take this way home. The roads were practically empty, so that's the only reason I could think of. After the second wrong turn, I decided to call him out on it. "You have no idea where you're going do you?" He chuckled "How did you guess?" I smiled to myself, "Take this next left, and then right at the end of the road, and then it's pretty much straight until the end of my street." He nodded. "I told you not to worry if it was going out of your way, you really didn't have to do this." I told him. I saw his dimples cast a little shadow on his face, so I knew he was smiling. "I know, but I can't have a pretty girl walking home on her own through that neighborhood." Did he just call me pretty? I mentally cleared my head, and turned away as I felt myself blushing a little.

"So what's your YouTube channel anyway?" I asked, genuinely curious. His eyes lit up, showing that is was a subject that he enjoyed talking about. "It's called MrBeast. It's basically just me and my friends doing dumb shit and having fun." I chuckled a little, after having seen the stunts they were pulling in Walmart, I wasn't at all surprised by the fact that he referred to it as 'dumb shit', there really was no other way to put it. "It looks like you really enjoy what you do, I'm happy I bumped into you guys." I told him, "I'll check out your channel when I get home." He turned his head slightly and caught my eye. "I really hope you enjoy it, I love making people laugh." I smiled and settled back into my seat, watching the streetlights reflecting in the small specks of rain that started appearing on the window.

We talked a little more about his channel, I asked if he had any recommendations for videos to watch first, or if there were any that I should avoid. He seemed so enthusiastic whilst he was talking to me, and I couldn't help but smile at him. I gave him the final few directions to my building, and a little sooner than I wanted, we pulled up outside.

"It was lovely meeting you Y/N" he said, pulling up the handbrake and turning to face me. The light in the car turned on automatically, shining light on both our faces. The dull yellow mustn't have done me any favors, it was never my color and almost always made me look washed out. Jimmy on the other hand looked just as radiant as earlier, making me think that he could look good in just about any situation. I smiled at him, "It was lovely meeting you too, thank you again for everything, it's been a such a fun evening." As I said this, the door to my building opened, and the creepy maintenance guy sauntered down the pathway leading down the garden. He turned the corner and stalked off into the dimly lit street. I looked at Jimmy, who was now taking off his seat belt. "Let me walk you." He said. In any other situation I would have declined, but I was enjoying my time with him. I nodded my head and we both left his car.

He joined me at the passenger side, and walked alongside me towards the door. I couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed at the state of my building. It didn't help that my shoes were making a mild clacking sound as they hit against the overgrown weeds, sticking out of the cracks in the path. What a dump. Jimmy must have sensed my mind having wandered, as he nudged my shoulder with his. "Are you alright?" He asked, his voice yet again projecting a genuine concern. "Yeah, sorry, this building just gives me the creeps sometimes." Whilst this was the truth, I wasn't too bothered by it, I was more worried about the idea of not being able to afford to live here any longer. I didn't want to have to move back to my mom's house, I was so determined that I would make it on my own, and I'm sure she would be less than pleased with seeing me.

Jimmy knew that I was skimming past the truth, I could see it in his face as we stopped in front of the door. "I know what you mean." He said, glancing up at the crumbling bricks that layered across the front of the apartments. "I like your buzzer though." He pointed past me at the buttons on the side of the wall. "Really brightens up the place." He laughed sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and smiled at him. "Hey! I spent a lot of time on that!" I glanced at the little slip next to the buzzer labelled 'No. 6', it was purely my name surrounded by a few trees and flowers, colored to look a little like a sunset. It was very faded at this point, but realistically, it never looked how I wanted it to anyway. I chuckled to myself, remembering when I first made it. The out of place flowers were only added because the paper had blemishes in it. "No one's ever mistaken my buzzer for anyone else's" I joked. His dimples still stood out, even though it was close to being pitch black outside. The light had been broken for weeks now. "I like it, it's cute." He smiled, causing my cheeks to heat up. "Thanks Jimmy, I try my best". The air filled with silence as we both stood looking at each other, neither of us knowing how to say goodbye.

"Well I guess I should let you get back home, it's getting pretty late." I said, pulling my keys out of my back pocket. He smiled at me and nodded. "I hope you have a nice evening, Y/N. I'm sure you will though, if you're going to be watching my videos." He winked at me, causing me to laugh. "Thanks again, Jimmy. I hope you get home alright, and don't get lost." We smiled at each other one last time before he began walking away. "See you around Y/N!" He called, "Bye, Jimmy."

And with that I unlocked the door and began the climb back up to my apartment, hearing his car pull away behind me.
