《1 in 6000 (MrBeast x Reader)》Chapter 5

It was starting to go dark as we exited the store, but I was too preoccupied with the immense size of the receipt to notice. Chris had put the thing around his neck as if it was a short scarf, and he was bragging about all of the items that he'd just gotten. I watched from a few steps away as he and the guy who's name I still hadn't gotten talked to the camera. He mentioned that it was all possible due to "ShopMrBeast", and he pulled at the fabric of his hoodie. The more I looked at the design on it, the more I recognized it. I swear I had seen some people around my college with that design on their shirts. Or one's like it.

Tareq stopped filming and said a few things to them, before motioning at Chris and accompanying him to the car. The guy I had met before came over to me, and handed me a Walmart bag, with what I assumed was my new tablet inside. I smiled at him. "So, Y/N." He paused before resuming, "Did you come into Walmart for any particular reason?" I gave him a quizzical look. "It's just that you didn't get any shopping of your own, so I didn't know if we'd distracted you and you'd forgotten or something." He said rather hurriedly, and realization dawned on me. I opened my mouth to say something, but as if he was waiting for a moment to but in, the cashier from earlier came past. "You managed to find a friend to get your stuff for you? Nice one man." He sent me a head nod, and then carried on walking, pulling his coat over his shoulders.

I looked at the guy in front of me, who looked rather confused. "My card got declined." I told him, feeling a sudden wave of embarrassment come over me. "You should've said something!" He said. "I would've been happy to get your groceries for you!" I shook my head, "I hadn't met you by that point, besides, it's not a usual question to ask someone when you don't even know their name." I laughed. He stuck his hand out, and I shook it. "Jimmy." that smile creeping back onto his face. "Y/N." I beamed back at him.

I helped Jimmy unload all of the bags and boxes into the back of two different cars. I hadn't realized that quite a lot of the items Chris had gotten were for other people as well. Chandler was grabbing quite a few items, with a gleeful expression on his face, holding them close. I assumed they were for him. I couldn't help but notice that Jimmy hadn't gotten anything for himself, as the black SUV was still parked up, with nothing being placed into it. I knew that was Jimmy's car, as he had grabbed his phone out of it when we first came over.

We were all making general chit chat, most of them asking me questions about myself. It was nice to feel as though people were actually taking an interest in me, not just asking me because they felt forced to. Everyone was lovely, and they were all wished me luck when I told them about my upcoming exam results.

After making sure nothing was going to break or fall over in the boots of the cars, it was time to say goodbye. Jake was driving Tareq and Chris was driving Chandler. They all waved as they drove off, Chandler's was by far the most enthusiastic, and I couldn't help but laugh. I was left alone with Jimmy, the lights from around the car park casting an orange hue on everything, but his eyes still stood out. "Well I guess I should say goodnight then. Thank you so much for this" I lifted up the bag a little, and shot a smile at him. "It was lovely meeting you." I began to take a couple of steps back before he said "Wait a second, do you have far to go? Do you want a ride home?" He shot me a concerned look. "Nah, not too far, I live just over there." I pointed at the shitty town across the way, that looked dark and scary even though you could see the streetlights shining down on it. His look turned even more concerned, and he shook his head. "Everyone knows you can't go that way at this time" he laughed a little, but it was still laced with worry. "I'll give you a lift." I looked over at the park, the crowd that was gathered earlier had long gone, and was replaced by a group of teenagers. You could hear them getting rowdy from here. "That's alright." I sighed "I don't want you to go out of your way, I'll just walk around." I smiled, and again, he shook his head. "Don't be silly, that'll take hours! I drive past that area on the way home anyway, come on." Just on queue, the group of teenagers must have thrown a bottle at ground, it smashed, they cheered, and I gave Jimmy a look. "Go on then. Thank you."
