《1 in 6000 (MrBeast x Reader)》Chapter 2

I stayed at home for a little while longer. Thinking about what I could do, and where I could find a job. I didn't realize how low I was on cash, and my mom has practically cut me off now I've finished college, so I couldn't ask her for help.
I figured that I could get a part time job until my results come back. I needed to pay my rent at the end of this month, so I'll take what I can get. If I went to Walmart, I could buy some food, and hand in my resume there. I could take it to a few other places on the way as well. That'd in turn give me something to do over the next few weeks as well. I did need something to take my mind off my exam results.
It was decided. I pulled myself up off the couch and as if on queue, I yawned. I checked the time on my phone. 1.00 p.m. I'd wasted quite a bit of my day just doing nothing. Luckily I had some resumes printed off, and I'd gotten ready to go out after my shower this morning. I'd probably be much more likely to find a job, if my resume wasn't so geared towards Graphic Design and Software knowledge, but I didn't have any ink in my printer, so there wasn't any point in wasting time typing up new ones.
From past experience, and old high school friends handing in bogus resumes to big chain stores, I knew that they wouldn't be fully read anyway. They will just be looking for someone who could meet the requirements that they needed, not someone who had a passion for retail work, or anything like that.
Walking to Walmart was not a very long journey, but it did involve walking through a rather shitty end of town. It was the sort of place that gets your anxiety going wild, and the sort of place you didn't mind adding an extra half an hour onto your journey to avoid. If it was getting dark, I most likely would go around, but the sun had started poking through the clouds a couple of hours ago, and I was in a rush.

Leaving my apartment building, I couldn't help but notice how much like a prison it all looked. It wasn't the sort of thing you'd notice unless you had nothing else to think about. I hadn't meant for this to be anything more than temporary accommodation, but unless I get into the field of work I want to be in, there's not much I can do about it. The 'garden' surrounding the building was overgrown and rather awful, each plant fighting against each other for a glimpse of the sun. I say plants, they're more like weeds. Even prison's have a better kept outdoors than this, and part of my rent pays for the upkeep of the property. That money was most likely being used to buy drugs, seeing as the maintenance guy lived a couple blocks down, in the street that was the most notorious for crime. I'd seen him around my building a few times, always nipping in and out of the same guys apartment, leaving with a wad of cash.
I paid no attention to anything as I walked. There were loud bangs and car alarms echoing in the distance, but this wasn't the sort of neighborhood in which you would want to investigate these sounds. I thanked my lucky stars that I lived in the nicer part of the shitty neighborhood. It seemed to be worse the further into the area you went. It was very noticeable. The more you could hear the hustle and bustle of city life, the houses started to have a nicer appearance.
A few streets, a couple of alleys later, and I was standing on the edge of the park that separated my small town from the city. It was an okay park. There wasn't anything to it really, and it was mostly empty and plain. There were people dotted around the grass, mostly on the half closer to the city, but not many. It wasn't the best day for a picnic, and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone had decided to stay indoors.

The ground was uneven and soft, indicating that we might have had rain overnight. This could also be because the fountain located on the shit side of the park, had been bashed in right where the spout was, sending the water a mile out of it's way, returning only half of it back into the fountain, and depositing the rest on the floor.
I kept my head down for the rest of the walk, stepping out of the way of people walking around, and dodging the odd few dogs that were making a bee line after their toys. Luckily the road I needed to cross to get to Walmart had a crossing on it, otherwise it would've been a nightmare to pass. There seemed to be a hundred cars going past every minute, each one blowing my hair back in the most unflattering way possible.
It took a solid five minutes for the cars to stop, and by that time there was a small gathering of people all impatiently checking their watches, or tapping their feet. This was soon followed by cars revving their engines during the walk over the crossing. I never understood what was so important to these people, that they couldn't afford to lose two minutes out of their day. Most people overtook me and made their way towards the complex of offices nearing the end of the street. I did not envy them, in their business suits, all connected to some kind of blue tooth device, going back to their cubicles to spend the rest of their day loaded with stress and displeasure. My day however, wasn't really going to be any different. I was stressed and displeased, I was just going to be spending it on my own terms.
Walmart car park was practically empty. Which only made the extremely fancy cars parked near the front of the store all the more visible. There was an SUV like car parked almost center front, shining like it had been cleaned four times this week. Walking past it, there were quite a few contraptions inside the car that looked as though they were put there to hold cameras. Most likely a vlogger. They were becoming almost normal these days with YouTube being as big as it is.
I thought nothing of it as I walked through the automatic doors into the shop.

A Challenge To An Arranged Marriage
"Ian? Please. Why are you not answering me?" Lisa shouted raising her voice to probably gain his attention."You want to know the truth?" Ian replied shifting his head away from the painting to look directly at her, staring into her eyes. While he started taking small steps in her direction."You really want to know why we are here." He asked again still moving forward. His voice was deep and hoarse and the way he was looking at her, made her take some steps back that was until her back hit the wall. Without saying anything he leaned forward placing both of his arms around her so that she was now trapped between him and the wall. He moved his face forward directly in front of her.Lisa could feel his hot breathe on her neck as he bent forward to place his mouth on her neck, placing a tender kiss there. Lisa took a large gulp of air trying to control the tingles, she was feeling down there."I was jealous, Lisa," He breathed out in her ears placing yet another kiss just below her earlobe. "I was jealous when you took hold of Cole's hand. I was jealous when you let that piece of shit place his hands on you. I was jealous when you danced with him. I was jealous, Lisa, very jealous." He continued as he removed his mouth from her neck, leaning forward to stare directly into her eyes."So let me tell you the truth. I am a very possessive man, Lisa and I don't share what's mine. And when it comes to you I certainly can't control myself." He concluded as he closed the gap and placed his lips on her.
