《Irondad & Spiderson》Harley Part 2

A few days passed by and before Harley knew it he was in the back of a cream colored Audi with Happy driving and Peter chattering excitedly beside him. Harley was nervous but that was to be expected. He was joining a new school in the middle of the year. Just moving schools is stressful enough but its a lot tougher starting later. But Tony and Pepper and Peter had all assured the nervous kid that everything would be fine.

After all, Harley had already been introduced to Ned and even MJ. Not that he would admit it but he kinda had a crush on the outspoken girl. He and Ned had hit it off immediately and both Peter and Ned did their best to prevent him from being a third wheel. Surprisingly, it didn't seem like anyone was excluded, which Peter was grateful for. The small group of friends already had a few inside jokes and made plans to meet up together outside of school at least once a week. There were no secrets between the three (not even spiderman) which worked in Peter's favor. He now had two friends that would assist in upgrading the suit and be his 'guys in the chair'. Plus they would help cover for him if there was an emergency during school.

But nonetheless Harley was still nervous. It was kinda hard to tell if it was a good nervous or a bad nervous. It might've been a combination of both but the only person who could really tell us is Harley and he didn't know either.

The new kid was soon pulled from his thoughts as Happy pulled the gorgeous car to the sidewalk a few blocks from the school. The exasperated chauffeur was big on safety and privacy so parking away from the school was a better way to ensure Peter's secret (both spiderman and living with Tony Stark) were kept secret.

Both teens hopped out of the car with a wave goodbye to Happy, who just ignored the farewells. To the boys it seemed like he didn't like them but it was actually the opposite. The problem was Happy actually did like them but he doesn't like showing emotions so he hides them. But whatever.

It was only a two minute walk to Midtown High School (five with heavy traffic) so the two arrived on school grounds with plenty of time to spare. Peter walked Harley to the office and then led him to his locker, which just so happened to be directly beside Peter's. They also had the same schedule but that was just a coincidence (*wink wink*).

The two strolled into their English class and found seats in the back of the room beside Ned and MJ. Ned instantly perked up at the sight of his best friends and gave an excited 'hi' in greeting. MJ didn't look up from her book (The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis) but waved a hand to the boys. Harley blushed at the gesture and stuttered out a 'hello'.

The bell rang as Peter and Harley took their seats, the chatter in the room quieting slowly into silence as Mr. Ramsbottom walked into the room. He was a young teacher, with a head full of light brown hair and he also wore a suit. The man could be compared to a young Harrison Ford and most of the girls in the class had a large crush on the attractive and well-spoken teacher. Peter rolled his eyes at the sight of the swooning girls and turned to explain what was going on to Harley.

But of course, Mr. Ramsbottom had to see the two whispering in the back. So he called them out.

"Mr. Parker, Mr.- I apologize. I have yet to meet you. Do you mind telling me your name?"

Harley blushed a bright red as his classmates stared at him. Thankfully, he didn't stutter as he said "Harley Keener, sir."

Mr. Ramsbottom smiled at the address, before continuing on. "Ah. Mr. Keener. You must be our new student, are you not?" Peter hadn't noticed before but the English teacher had a slight British accent. No wonder the girls liked him so much.

Harley nodded, "Yes, sir"

"Well Mr. Keener. Because it is your first offense and your first day here I won't give you a detention. You are lucky that I don't let my first impressions guide my feelings for my students. Now, why don't you come up front and introduce yourself to the class."

Peter could see the boy pale in fear of public speaking so he gave a small, encouraging shove on the shoulder, pushing him to walk up front. Harley swayed back and forth (a tendency he had picked up from his mother) as he introduced himself. "Hi. My name is Harley Keener. I moved here from Rose Hill, Tennessee aaaaaandd I think that's it" He gave a small wave before returning to his seat, blushing as a light (and awkward) applause began.

Mr. Ramsbottom gave a nod and thanked Harley before turning to face the entire class. "Who here can tell me about William Shakespeare?"

---------------------

After a long day of classes and numerous introductions to the same group of people required by the teachers, it was time for the last period of the day. Chemistry. Technically it was a college level course for seniors in college but both Peter and Harley had tested into the class. That's what happens when you live in a tower full of science bros (and gal).

Peter still wasn't a hundred percent sure why a class for seniors in college was taught at a high school three miles from the university campus but he didn't really care. It just made the class more accessible to him and Harley.

Harley was actually excited for this class because science and technology were his favorite and easiest classes. Unfortunately, he was not able to take technology due to a scheduling conflict but he had Tony Stark so he wasn't too upset. If anything, he got the better deal.

The bell rang but the students continued quietly conversing between themselves as the substitute teacher at the front snored. While chemistry was a great class, the teacher was almost never there so the students were mostly self taught. Peter looked at the chalkboard at the front of the room and copied down the notes and assignment. In all it only took about twenty minutes despite the fact the actual college kids were groaning about not being able to finish in class. Harley took a little longer than Peter but was still finished before class ended.

Since they were the only two done and phones were strictly prohibited during class, Peter and Harley began designing for some new projects, coded for suit upgrades, and messed around with Peter's web fluid. Despite the fact Harley had no powers, Tony was still going to build him a suit in case of emergencies. So the two also made concept designs for Harley's suit and brainstormed name ideas.

Peter and Harley began arguing between the names, not noticing their increasing volume.

"Iron Kid"

"Nightmare"

"That sounds like a villan!"

"Fine! How about Daydream?!"

"You sound like a Taylor Swift song!"

"How would you know what that sounds like?!"

"Bucky really likes her music!"

"Why are we talking about Bucky's musical preferences?!"

"Why are we still screaming?!" Peter shouted.

At that the two stopped screaming and turned to see their entire class plus the sub staring at them in confusion and interest.

Peter let out an awkward chuckle and gave an even awkwarder wave. "heeeeeeeeyyyy"

It was Flash who spoke first. "What the fuc-fudge are you arguing about?"

Normally, Peter would freeze. Surprisingly, he did not freeze (unlike T'challa). "Well, Harley and I work together at the Stark Internship and one of the jobs for higher up interns is to help design new suits and come up with names. We obviously aren't that good" he let out a nervous chuckle.

He had been doing that a lot lately but whatever.

Flash of course did not believe this. Well, part of it. "There is no way both of you have internships with Tony Stark."

Harley wanted nothing more to reveal that Tony Stark was their guardian and not their boss and he might've considering he was more outspoken than his 'brother'. Peter liked staying under the radar and lying low. Telling their class was basically like telling a news outlet so Peter decided it was best to hide that secret. And thankfully Harley picked up on that.

Peter rolled his eyes at Flash's comment. "We're not lying, Flash. I don't know what we have to do to prove our internship. And you can't say bring Tony to school because I've never met him."

The bully was very happy neither had met the famed genius billionaire playboy philanthropist a.k.a. Iron Man but he still didn't believe they had internships and even voiced his opinion. Peter and Harley both tried to explain that they did work for Tony but not matter what they said Flash still thought it was all a lie. After about 10 minutes of arguing with the bully, the two gave up and returned to designing Harley's suit.

Little did they know they were in for a real surprise the next day.
