《Vanilla Smoke (Blue Exorcist)》Chapter 36

"Whoo Hooo!" A shout came from the sky. Amaimon landed a second later, a massive goblin on a chain like his pet landing next to him loyally, growling.
Shuku flipped out her knives and poised to attack once more. Shura did the same as Shuku and summoned her sword.
"Don't just stand there!" Shura shouted at the startled Exwires.
"Go get them Behemoth!" Amaimon ordered with his usual childish tone, releasing the goblin. Shura taxi whistled and a white snake burst out from beneath the fire pit, scaring Izumo.
Shuku immediately recognized the magic circle effect that went on after that. The fire raced across the camp, and surrounded the circle in a ring of fire, then exploded, sending Amaimon flying away with his pet. Gone. Shuku smirked, it was a high-level circle, one that took utmost precision making. Shura was good enough to put up an absolute barrier.
"An absolute barrier?!" Bon asked in disbelief.
Shura stuck her sword into the ground, a serious expression on her face, "Yep. Everything inside the magic circle is safe everything outside is repelled. You guys should be safe here for a little while."
"That is until he figures out how to break it. Even the absolute barrier has a weak spot." Shuku added, not caring about the started glances coming her way.
"That's great and all but what's the deal with that guy?!" Izumo yelped, and Shuku nearly had to cover her ears on how high Izumo's voice had become with fear.
"Yeah, Ms. Shura! Is he supposed to be part of our training?" Nerd asked, "And don't you think he's a little too tough for us to handle?" Shima added. Then Shuku scoffed.
"Nah half of you would be dead before anyone of you could get a hit on him." Shuku clasped her kunai onto her fingers and flipped them through her fingers, ready for one hell of a fight.

"Training is over for today. We have to get ready for Amaimon's next attack." Shura ordered and Shuku nodded her head, thinking of what the demon could possibly do next.
"Amimon?!" Everyone but Shura, Shuku, Rin, and Shiemi who was in pain said in unison.
"Do you mean one of the eight kings?!" Izumo asked, fearful for her life. "The ball, The King of Earth? That Amaimon?!"
"Who else? I don't know about you lot but I'm ready to kick some ass." Shuku sneered.
"Shuku! How do you plan to fight someone like that!? You're the same level we are!" Bon shouted.
"There's a lot you guys don't know about me." Was all Shuku responded. Shura narrowed her eyes as she walked over to the cooler and pulled out a large container of holy water. There was a reason that girl was top in the class and a reason why she was naturally talented too.
"It's just as the punk said. You Exwires don't stand a chance on your own against him." Shura sighed, "Everyone gather 'round. I'm gonna give you guys a dose of some triple C concentrated Holy Water."
"But why-!" Izumo was cut off by a splash of water in the face."Does he want to fight us...?" She finished.
"This has to be some kinda.." Shura splashed Shima, "kinda joke."
Shura went to splash Rin but stopped just in time, her eyes wide as she realized what she had been about to do.
"Whoops, that was close. It would have gotten ugly if I would've poured some on you." Shura soaked Konekomaru instead.
Shura looked up at Shuku, then at the empty container. "I'll be fine. They need it more than I do anyways. I can defend myself better against someone." Shuku waved off, and Shura blinked. The girl was either self-sacrificing of had a big enough ego that she thought she would be fine against the King of Earth.

Shura closed her eyes and made a cross over her chest with her fingers. "In the beginning, God created heaven and the Earth." Shura whisper then looked up, "Alright, you guys are good until the holy water drys. No matter what happens, the damage should be too bad."
Shuku felt an itching sensation on her arm, where she had accidentally bumped Izumo, and gotten a bit of water on her. It wasn't the regular itchy kind either. It was the kind that itched soo bad you wanted to cut your arm off. But Shuku needed her arm.
"What about Okumura? Aren't you going to splash him with some?" Bon asked and Shura blinked, thinking up an excuse. Shuku could tell she was a crappy liar.
"Yeah..." Shura turned around and looked back over her shoulder at Bon, pointing at Rin, "He's sorta allergic to holy water so..." Welp, that was about as accurately simple as it could get. Shuku silently applauded Shura.
"Allergic to holy water?! I've never heard that one before!" Bon yowled with a suspicious glare at Rin.
"Wait! Has anyone seen Yukio?!" Rin asked, realizing finally that the Glassed teacher was missing.
"He was sorta getting in the way so I sent him off somewhere." Shura replied with a smirk. Shuku realized that Shura had sent him off after the bottle rocket.
If he hadn't returned by now, he had probably had an encounter with that giant moth chuchi that way. Shuku sighed. Geez. Several of the other's started pulling out their phones, trying to contact emergency contact or teachers. Shuku would too, except she didn't have a phone... oh well.
"Amimon supposed to be a big shot, so what's he picking on us for?!" Bon demanded, no doubt agitated. Shuku however, could think of two reasons for this. One, Rin. Two, herself, that was if she had been discovered. Which she hoped not.
"Dunno. I'm wondering the same thing." Shura sighed, that, Shuku knew was a lie. Shuku knew Shura was suspicious of her, and she knew of Rin.
Shuku took out her pen, the pop she had finished off a few moments before, and started smoking again. Slowly, Shuku sauntered over to a lone Shiemi, left because Rin was talking to Shura.
"Hey, Moriyama. I never knew the trees were so interesting to stare at." Shuku commented plainly as Shiemi stared ahead blankly. Her eyes were glazed over, and she wasn't responding. In a zombie-like movement, Shiemi took a step forward, not noticing Shuku even the slightest. The girl had always seemed so flustered when Shuku was near her. Why though? Shuku had no idea.
"Moriyama! Where ya going?!" Shuku shouted towards her, but as soon as the pieces clicked, Shuku's eyes darkened, and her instincts kicked in.
It was happening now. The event that was going to change everything, it was happening now, as soon as Shiemi stepped overstepped the magic circle's protection.
The maiden of grass has fallen to the earth.
