♔ Kenzie the Queen ♔ Mackenzie's Perspective ✧
Two weeks. Two frigging weeks until I'm married. My mother is rushing everything around— she keeps me up until when Gavin is fast asleep. Without the time we spent together, things between us have gotten a tad bit more awkward. We pass each other every so often in the long hallways and smile at each other— sort of like we're ex best friends. I hope we warm up again to each other because I really don't want our awkward stage to happen again.
Another week passes by me in a flash. I have one more week until I marry him. My mother is rushing me around so much I haven't taken a shower in two days. For my bachelorette party, I won't be hanging with a couple of my bestest friends, because I have none. They all work for me. So I've decided to invite all of the princess from other kingdoms. They can be young or old, they're all invited. I'm friends with all of them, but not close enough to know that they would hold my hair back while I puked from being intoxicated.
So we're having it here, and it will be a huge sleepover. Almost everyone I invited is coming, unless they have some princess thing to do, or they're parents wouldn't allow them. I got this idea from my favorite movie,—as I told you before— The Princess Diaries. And yes, of course, we're going to slide down the stairs on mattresses. I'm really excited for it, to be honest.
The most I will see of Gavin all week until we are married is the 'practice wedding'. Mother needs every little detail perfect. It was like this before Maddie's wedding. Woah, I'd totally forgotten about Maddie. And how she's having a baby. I haven't seen her in about two months. How is that even possible? Well I guess this place is big enough to hide from someone in. I hear my mother yell for me from downstairs. I'm currently hiding in the bathroom. Not really hiding, actually. I just took a little longer than I needed to.

The day of my little 'pre- wedding party' is finally today. People should start arriving any minute now. I'm in the most expensive pjs I have, blue silk with gold swirls on them.
"Only the best for my little Mackenzie." Mother would say. I finish putting my hair in a low pony when my mother comes in, telling me everyone is already in the ballroom. I hop off my bed and make my way downstairs, starting to say hello to everyone.
We then eat some pizza and cake, which is very rare for me; I always get fancy food unless I sneak junk food. Now for the fun part: sliding down the stairs on mattresses. Two of my butlers help me onto it and I lay on my stomach. I'm whirling down and laughing. I can see the other princess on the identical stair case sitting cris-cross as she's laughing on the way down. Rose, I think her name is. This goes on for hours, sliding down the staircase. My mother comes walks in with her pjs on— pink silk— with her tiara on her head.
As the whole room gets quiet, she struts up the stairs. The only sound in the whole room is the clink-clank of her shoes hitting the marble floor. She whispered something into a butler's ear and casually took off her shoes. She hoists herself onto the mattress and simply hollers, "Let me show you how the pros do it." Off she slides, on her feet, might I add.
Her shoulder-length blonde hair is flapping as she cruises down the stairs. I smile; my mother, of course she wants to show off some skill she probably has never done before. That's my family for you, competitive. We end at about nine (for the younger ones) and sing our favorite songs. I went first, of course.

"Alright, girls. This is a song I wrote myself; it's called Shine." I brush my fingers against the guitar and start the song.
"Everyday I watch you, out there in the light. Everyday I see you, with your beautiful life. Doing all the things I want to..." I end my song about two minutes later, and girls come up singing from the Alphabet Song to Ariana Grande's Break Free. The range of kids is from four to twenty-four!
