Leo and I are walking side by side and every minute or so, our hands brush over each other

It's awkward

Awkward but nice.

"Okay, we're here" Leo stops and turns to me

I look behind him and see a small building with a sign and some lights around it.

The sign reads "sam's cafe" in small cursive letters

I walk over to the glass door and push it.

It doesn't open.

I keep attempting to open it until Leo walks over to me, pushes me aside slightly, and pulls the door open

Oh.

"Did you not see the sign? It pull not push," he says while laughing

"I did," I state, looking at him, trying to look serious

I didn't.

He's still laughing

"It isn't funny," I say with a serious face

Leo glares at me, raising his eyebrows.

I look away from his glare and wait for him to walk in.

"What are you doing" I question, raising my eyebrows.

"What does it look like I'm doing," Leo asks, holding the door open.

"I don't know."

He furrows his eyebrows "you don't know?"

"No, I don't," I reply, looking him dead in the eyes.

He sighs and smiles. Dimples appear

"Just walk in," he says while shaking his head

I stay in my spot. "I don't need you holding the door for me."

"It's a door walk-in" amusement in his voice is very present

"I was very capable of doing it myself," I say as I finally give in

I walk in, the smell of strong coffee and baked goods ignites me

Fairy lights are hung up all around the small cafe

Leo walks in after me and goes up to the cashier. I soon follow after him

"Good evening; what can I get you two today," a lady says as she walks up to us

"Leo, it's you, coming in again?" she smiles, looking at him

"Oh, and who may this be" she looks over at me, smiling

"I'm just a friend," I say, looking at the lady and then to Leo, who's staring at me, smiling

"The Usual for You," she asks Leo

"always," Leo reply's

"And what can I get you" she then turns to me

"I'll just have a chai latte," I reply, smiling

" your total is 10.44," the lady says

I go to take out my debit card until Leo stops me "what are you doing."

"Paying what does it look like" I state

"No, I'm paying," Leo responds, taking his card out

I look at him with wide eyes

"It's fine. I'll pay"

"No, I'm paying I practically forced myself to come here with you," Leo says and then pays for it

What the fuck

I sigh and look at him "you know I could've paid."

"It's okay I'm loaded, " Leo says as if it's obvious

"More like your family is, "I say as we both walk towards an open table

"Your family is too," Leo says as he looks at me and sits down

I don't reply as I sit down in the chair beside him

A couple of seconds after I sit down, the lady from before walks up to our table with our order

"Pumpkin spice latte for Leo and a chai latte for this lady," she says, smiling as he sets the drinks in front of us

I look at Leo, who's already drinking his coffee

"You like pumpkin spice lattes?" I question

"Yup," is all he says, looking at me

"I would expect you to get just a plain black coffee or creamer with a splash of coffee."

Leo laughs, "pumpkin spice lattes are the only type of coffee I like."

"You don't like coffee?" I question

"Nope, do you."

"I do not," I say, picking up my chai latte and drinking it

Woah

"This drink is perfect" i say as I take more sips

"I know; all the drinks here are; it's my favourite cafe," Leo reply's taking a sip of his drink before putting it down

"I can tell why" I look at Leo, who's already staring at me

Our eyes lock, Leo looks from my eyes to my lips and my eyes again.

I slightly move my hand, and As I do, I feel Leo's brush hand over mine,

I take in a sharp breath, and as Leo swallows

The air grows thicker by the second

My breathing starts to get heavy

And I look down to his lips

Leo notices, and a slight smile appears on his face

we both stop in our tracks when we hear a phone ring

Shit

I cough and look away, and Leo stays there for a second and then reaches for his phone

"Shit, I have to go," Leo says quickly as he stands up

I nod and get up as well

I grab my coat and start to leave Before Leo grabs my arm, pulling me back

"Wh-" I say but get cut off

"I'll walk you," Leo says with a sincere look on his face

I don't reply, but Leo takes it as a yes and urges me to start walking with him

Before we can walk out the lady walks up to us and whispers something to Leo making him smile

"I will" is all he says to her and then goes to hold the door open for me.
