The frozen caves of Antarctica weren't exactly the best place to be, but many people have different reasons as to why they'd go to these caves in the first place.
The reason as to why Natasha Nigma was in these caves was because she had detected a strange source of energy coming from a certain spot in the walls. Said energy was radiating heat, and Natasha was there to see what this energy source was.
Natasha got to work, chipping away at the ice wall. Despite the fact that the wall she was picking at was radiating heat, it was still solid. Eventually, after a solid hour of ice picking, she eventually poked a hole in the wall that revealed to her what the strange energy source was: a blue-gray liquid that slowly oozes out of the hole like honey.
Natasha leaned closer to the liquid and pulled a beaker out of her backpack. She used the beaker to scoop up a bit of the liquid, which had this strange, burnt rubber scent to it that was really strong.
Natasha examined the sample she collected, noting how oddly warm the beaker in her hand had become. As she contemplated what this liquid could be, she didn't notice the rest of the liquid oozing onto her boot. The liquid slowly crawled up her leg and inserted itself into Natasha's boot, which she did feel.
Natasha looked down and jumped at the sight of the liquid slowly covering her leg. She tried to get the liquid off her leg, but it only led to her hands getting covered in the same liquid. The liquid on her hands changed to this light blue color, and covered her hands and half her arms until the rest of her arms were beginning to be covered in the blue-gray color the liquid originally was.

The same thing happened to her legs. A light blue, latex material covered her feet, which looked like the hind feet of a fox, and half her legs, tearing her boots to pieces. The rest of her legs got covered in the blue-gray latex that covered the rest of her arms, the latex on her legs slightly plumping her legs, also tearing her pants to shreds.
