Y/N POV:
It's night and Buck is setting up an entertaining night story. I giggle as he fights his own limbs.
-Shouldn't we get moving? Manny asks.
-And give Rudy a midnight snack? Not likely, Buck makes a voice for his foot puppet.
-The skull's right, take a load off mammals, we'll camp here. Now who's hungry? He asks.
-You don't need the calories! His foot puppet exclaims and he fights it again. This sight makes me laugh hysterically and the others chuckling. My laughing interrupts Buck so he stops and looks at me too. I calm down and notice that he's smiling at me.
-What? I ask, wiping away the tears I got from laughing.
-Nothing. Just haven't heard a sound like that in my whole life, he says. I blink in surprise before he leaves to get fire wood and food.
I look after him.
-Ooooo I saw that! Ellie says.
-Saw what? I ask and blush.
-I saw that connection, she says and lays down next to me.
-I have no idea what you're talking about, I say, ignoring what she's talking about.
-Oh come on. He's the only other weasel in this group, everyone can sense the tension, she says.
-Well I guess he's funny... goofy and cute, I admit.
-I knew it! She says.
-Oh hush you. I'm about to be an aunt, I have no time for love, I say. She rolls her eyes.
-You can't deny facts Y/N, she just teases.
Buck tells the story of how he lost his eye and we're all listening intensely.
-and forth, and back and forth, until finally, I let go and shot right out of his mouth! He says and we all gape our mouths wide.
-I may have lost an eye that day, but I got this! He holds up his tooth sword.
- Rudy's tooth! Eddie says.
- Dang! Crash says.
-It's like the old saying: "An eye for a tooth". A nose for a chin. A butt for a"... It's an old saying, but uh, it's not a very good one, Buck laughs awkwardly.
-You are super weasel! Crash says.
- Ultra weasel! Eddie says.
- Diesel weasel! Diego adds. Buck makes a weird dance and then they high five, which makes Manny glare at Diego.
-What? He is, Diego says.
-Now let me tell you about the time I used to sharpen, clam-Shell to turn a T-Rex, into a T-Rachel, Buck leans towards me and winks. I looks at home with an amused look.
- Yes master, Crash and Eddie says.
-Wow, that's enough fairy-Tales for one night. - Come on, Ellie. You should rest now... Manny ushers Ellie away.
- Pff.. Life at the party, Ellie says and tools her eyes as she's escorted away.
-Alright, you guys get some shut-eye, I'll keep watch, Buck says and then offers a hand to help me up.
-Don't worry, Buck, we got this! Crash says.
- Night time is possum time, Eddie says.
- Yeah, we own the night baby, Crash finishes and they pose. As they start patrolling the camp ground and the "adults" heading to bed, I walk up to Buck.
-Buck? I ask.
-Hmmm? He asks.
-Why are you so nice to me? I ask.
-I am nice to everyone? He says and starts climbing a tree. I quickly follow him.
-Well yeah but, especially me, I say and follow him as much as I can while also making sure that I don't fall.
-Well of course, he says and I almost fall when tryin to step onto the branch he's on. But he catches me and swoops me back up by my waist. I squeal and then my heart speeds up when I see how close he is.

-You're the only one that actually listens, he says.
-Well usually I'm the weird one, I breathe out.
-Feels good to not be alone, I say.
-Hmmm... He says. He studies my face with his eye and I can see it travel from my eyes to my ears to my nose to my teeth. He then softly lets me go.
-Are you ok to go down by your own or do I need to catch you again? He asks and grins slightly. I smile back.
-Well I'll blame all my injuries on you if I do. I'm your responsibility, I say teasingly.
-Please do, he says and I laugh as I start climbing back down carefully.
-Pretty lady, he says after me. I look up at him.
-Goodnight, he says. I blush at the nickname.
-Goodnight Buck, I smile before climbing down the rest of the way and finding another tree nearby our fire so that I can see my crazy little bothers. Sorry, I mean brothers.
The next day:
We're still looking around for Sid as we walk to the lava falls where he would allegedly be.
-Manny? What's going on? Are you okay? Ellie asks.
-I'm sorry. I just wanted to keep you safe, and Now you're in the most dangerous place in the world, Manny says concerned.
-This isn't your fault. It's bigger than both of us, Ellie insists.
-We have to get, Sid, I comment.
-Yeah, but If I had been a better friend to him... we wouldn't be here, Manny says and I smile sadly at him.
-Better friend? Are you plucking my whiskers? Buck stops us and points at Manny.
-You risked your life, your mate and your baby to save your buddy! Not the best husband or father, but... a damn good friend! Buck says and I put a hand on Ellies tusk. She smiles at me.
-Everybody stop! I smell something! Diego says. Buck then starts going on a rampage or crazy theories.
- Are you nuts? Sid's not violent, or co-Ordinated, Manny stops.
- Alright, alright. Good point. Theory two:.... He continues.
-Buck, when exactly did you lose your mind? Manny asks.
-Umm... 3 months ago. I woke up one morning married to a pineapple. An UGLY pineapple. But I loved her, Buck says and I snicker.
-Hey, don't joke about my very serious marriage! Buck says and I smirk and hold my hands up.
-Uh, Buck! I think you missed a little clue over here, Diego points out a bit further away. We walk up to him and we see them...
-Your friend might be alive. But not for long. Rudy's closing in, Buck says.
-Wow... I say.
-You got it. The plates of, wow. Or whatever's left of them, Buck says and looks concerned at me.
-Single file everyone. Head for, Lava Falls, Buck says and starts heading out.
-What's that sound? Crash asks
-It's the wind. It's speaking to us, Buck says.
- What's it saying? Eddie then follows up.
- I don't know. I don't speak wind, Buck says and I snort. We walk and then I hear Ellie grunt softly.
-Ellie? I turn around and ask my sister.
-I'm fine, don't worry about me. I'm just taking my- she gets interrupted by snarling dinosaurs and the plates were standing on start to crumble and fall.
-Ellie!
-Manny!
-Buck!
-Crash!
-Y/N!
-Diego!
Everyone's yelling for each other, and I fall. I scream but get huddled up before I hit the ground. I look up and Buck has grabbed me and my two brothers to safety so that we wouldn't get crushed by the plates that fell.

-Ellie? Manny yells.
-Ellie where are you!? Crash screams.
-It's ok I'm up here! Ellie says. I crawl so that I see her through the cracks.
-Hang on Ellie, we'll be right there! Manny says.
We start heading towards Ellie since she was the only one who managed to not fall with the plates. On our way I stay close to Buck, just in case those nasty looking dino-things come around again. Buck notices that I'm shaking.
-Not to worry, we'll get you home soon enough, he says.
-I don't wanna go home, I just don't wanna get eaten by dinosaurs, I say and chuckle nervously and look over my shoulder.
-Ah don't worry, that won't happen as long as I'm around, he says and I smile.
-thanks Buck... I say.
Suddenly we all hear a loud scream.
-Never heard that kind of dino before? Buck says confused.
- That's Sid! I say and grab his arm.
- We'll have to move fast, Buck says.
- Manny, pineapples! Ellie screams, stopping us in our tracks.
- Pineapples? Diego asks.
- She gets cravings, Manny explains.
-Uh-Uh, this is something else... I say.
- Pomegranates, grapefruits, nectarines! Ellie continues to shout.
- She's ordering a fruit cocktail, Diego says and laughs slightly.
-Peaches! Ellie screams and it dawns on me.
-Peaches...? Peaches! The baby! What, what, what now...! Manny freaks out and I turn white in the face.
- This not good, Diego mutters.
- The baby's coming! Manny screams in a frenzy.
- Can you try to hold it in? Eddie screams at Ellie.
- Can somebody slap him for me? Ellie asks. Me and Crash take a hit each.
-You can't say that to someone who is literally having a baby! I scold him.
-Idiot! I say.
- Just sit tight, we're coming! Manny says.
- There's only one thing to do. Possums, weasel, you're with me. Manny you take care of, Ellie until we get back, Buck hands out stuff for everyone to do.
-What? No you can't leave now! Manny says.
-She's off the trail, Buck says.
-What about rule number 2? Manny asks.
-Rule number 5 says, you can ignore rule number 2, if there's a female involved. Or possibly a cute dog. I just make up these rules as I go along, Buck says.
-Yeah, but, but, but... she's... you have to, Manny stammers panicked.
- Manny, it's alright. I got your back, Diego says.
- Now your talking. Come on, lads, lady, Buck says.
-- Take care of our sister, Mr, Crash says.
- No pressure, Eddie says, and they run after Buck.
-If any tiny hair on the baby's and Ellie's head is missing when I 'm back, I will feed you to Rudy, got that? I warn him, before running after Buck.
So Buck just threw us onto a flying thing without any pointers and now we got hit by one of the other dinosaurs.
-We're losing altitude! Hold these! Buck hands me the reins to the dinosaur.
-Tastes like fish! He shouts as he gives the dino mouth to mouth.
-Okay, that's just weird, I say.
- I love you, bro! Eddie says.
- I know! Crash says back.
-What about me!? I ask as I scream with them.
-We love you too sis! They scream and hug me.
-Snap out of it! Come on! Buck encourages the Dino.
-Pull! Bucky says and I pull as hard as I can on the reins. Crash and Eddie scream.
-That's it, c'mon! Buck encourages me.
-Take him! Buck says as we see Sid fall of if the edge of the lava falls. Buck takes the reins from behind me and pulls up even more to fly parallel with the falls. My heart is beating. Both from Adrenalin and from Buck literally standing with his front to my back. We then catch Sid and fly upwards.
- Help! Sid screams
- No, Sid! It's me! Eddie says.
- And me! Crash adds.
- And me! I add.
-And me! Buck adds.
-I don't want to panic anybody, but who's flying this thing? Sid asks.
-Oops! Buck says and we smack into the ice ceiling above before we fall and can fly away again.
-We have to get back to Ellie, I have to be there! I say panicked.
-We'll get there don't worry, Buck says.
-No you don't understand! She was there in my hardest times, now it's my turn to return the favor! I HAVE to be there Buck! I say. He looks at me.
-Ok, I'll get you there, hold on! Buck takes over the reins and speeds us back. I see them over there, them already holding the baby.
-Incoming! Sid yells as he falls off of the Dino and Buck helps me hop off.
-It's Sid! Manny says. I get to the baby in a second, meanwhile Sid falls on his face.
-Oh, It's a boy! He says as he gets back up.
- That's her tail, Manny says.
-It's a girl... I start tearing up.
-Hi, sweetheart. It's uncle Sid... Yes it is. Oh, you're so beautiful. Oh, she is... She looks just like her mother. Thank goodness. Oh, no offence, Manny, No offence. You're beautiful on the inside, Sid says and he receives a hug from Manny.
-It's good to have you back, Sid, Manny says.
-Never thought I would say this, but... I missed you buddy, Diego says to him and I let my niece.
-Now I wish my kids were here. You could have been friends, Sid says sadly.
-Ellie! Eddie and Crash comes over and coos over our niece.
-I'm sorry I couldn't be here, I apologize to Ellie.
-You're fine, you were saving Sid, Ellie says and hugs me.
-I promised myself I wouldn't cry, Eddie says.
-I didn't, Crash says and starts bawling his eyes out. I laugh and sniffle.
-I forgot what it was like to be part of a family. What about you? Ever thought about having kids? Buck asks the Dino and it flies away.
Ellie looks towards Buck and mentions me to go over to him as he stands to the side. I look at her and she nods for me to go over to him again. I then walk up to him, drying my eyes on the way. He ways between his left and right foot.
-Hey Buck, I say.
-Thank you. Seriously, thank you, I say.
-If it wasn't for you... Manny and Diego would be eaten by a flower. Sid would've been burned in lava and heck, Crash, Eddie and I would probably have been stomped to the ground, I say.
-Nah, you're a strong lady, you could've handled yourself, he says. I shrug and blush.
-You know... I like you, he says and I stare up at him.
-I like the little family you got here, he says. I smile. Then we both turn to my family. Buck looks at me. Then at the others.
-All right, mammals. Let's get you home, he says.
-This is it, mammals. Right where you started, Buck says and takes us to the hole in the wall.
-This was fun! We could make it a regular thing, Buck jokes and Ellie scoffs.
-I don't know about that, Ellie says.
Right! Right, yes, because of all the mortal peril, of course, he says.
-Oh, well, the Buck stops here!, Buck says and stops.
-We couldn't have done it without you, Manny says.
-Well obviously. But, good times just the... Bucky stops when there's heavy breathing behind him. My eyes widen like plates.
-We're not alone, are we? Buck asks and I shake my head, holding my breath in fear of being eaten.
-Hello, Rudy, Buck says and turns around. Up steps a huge white dinosaur with blood red eyes and thin arms. It was terrifying.
-Run! Buck says with a tiny maniac grin on his face. As we run he puts a hand on my back to push me to run faster.
-Over here, you colossal fossil! He pushes me to the side and runs the other way to get Rudy's attention.
-Looking for something? Buck asks and holds up the tooth sword. Rudy licks the tooth hole in his jaw.
-Why don't you come and get it! Buck says and runs even further.
-To the cave! Go! I yell as we run the other way.
- Stay with the baby, Manny tells Ellie.
- We'll be fine. Go, Ellie tells us.
-Let's go boys! I say as I take the lead. We run past the dinosaur that tried to kill is the moment we came here and he whispers at the large white monster.
-Wuss, Diego says as he runs past.
-Pop goes the weasel! Buck says as he irritates the dinosaur. We're all grabbing rope and running around the legs of the dinosaur to trap him. Me and Buck run past each other a few times and he smiles at me every time.
-Shoo! Shoo! Come on! Move! Buck sees his other butterfly friends and makes them fly up in Rudy's face.
-Through the hole, over the valley, one more loop! I yell to the others.
- Come on lads, heev! Buck says and we tighten the ropes around Rudy's legs. He falls helplessly to the ground, knocking him out. Bucky walks up to his snout and pets it.
-Better luck next time, snowflake. This isn't Gonna hold him long, let's go! Buck ushers and we get going.
-Hold up, guys! Sid shouts and as we turn back to wait for him, he trips over the ropes, which breaks them and his ales the monster.
-Holy- shoot! I scream. Buck takes my hand and runs away. Rudy runs after us and I start to panic. My eyes start watering and my heart starts pounding.
-Buck we're not gonna make it! I scream.
-Yes we are, hold on, he says.
-No we're not! I cry. Rudy leaps for us and Buck covers me. Just as Rudy is about to hit, something stops him. I look up and mommy Dino leaped at Rudy.
-Way to go, Momzilla! Sid cheers. They fight furiously and we all can't seem to stop watching. But momma Dino wins as she pushes Rudy out from a cliff and she roars victoriously.
-Come here, kids. Well, let me tell you something. You're where you belong now. And I'm sure you're gonna grow up to be giant, horrifying dinosaurs. Just like your mother. Momma... ...take good care of our kids, Sid talks to his co parent and his kids.
- You were a good parent, Sid, Manny says.
- Thank's. Can I baby sit for you? Sid asks.
-Not a chance, I answer as Buck lets me go.
- Oh come on, I work cheap, Sid tries to negotiate.
- Alright, I'll think about it... Never happening, I answer.
- He's gone. What am I supposed to do now? Buck says hopelessly. We turn towards him. He looks so hopeless... so... sad. My heart sinks as his ears drop.
- That's easy, Ellie says. I look surprised at her.
- Come with us, she continues.
- You mean... up there? I never thought of going back. I've been down here so long, it feels like up to me. I'm not sure I can fit-in up there anymore, Buck says sadly. I walk up to him and gently rub his arm.
-So? look at us, I say. Buck looks at me.
- Do we look like a normal herd to you? I ask and we look at the others. They pose as if for a family portrait. Sid doesn't smiles though so Manny hits him over his head and he exaggerates a smile. Buck looks at me again and smiles softly. He takes both my hands in his.
-If I for any reason would go back up there... It would be for you, he says. I smile and blush profusely.
-Buck you don't need to... I say.
-But I want to. And if not I want you to stay here, he says.
-You know I can't... I say.
-So I'll go with you. Since the only reason I am left here is gone... I have another one that takes me with you, he says. Everyone sees and I hush them.
On our way out, Buck stops me.
-I got something for you. Well, I made it, he says. He brings out a necklace that has a charm carved out of wood of a leaf, one identical to his eye patch.
-I made this before I knew I was coming with you so at least one of you had any memory left of me, he says. He gives it to me and I put it around my head.
-It's amazing... thank you, I say. He smiles as we continue walking.
When we're almost at the opening, we hear a roar... a very familiar one. I walk with Ellie and Peaches but stop when I hear it.
-So long, big guy, Sid says.
-That's our queue. Come on peaches, Manny says and continues to usher his child.
-He's alive... I hear Buck say from a bit behind. -Buck...? Diego asks. He's closer to him than I am, so I walk closer.
- I... I gotta... Buck says and then he spots me and sighs.
- Yeah... Besides this world should really stay down here, Diego says.
- Take care of 'em, tiger, Buck says.
- "Always listen to Buck. ", Diego says as he walks with the others. He nods at me as I walk up to Buck.
-So... you really have to stay, huh? I ask.
-Yeah, I'm afraid so... he says.
-Will I ever see you again? I start tearing up and my voice breaks. He looks conflicted at me.
I try to keep a smile but it is hard as the tears start streaming down my face. He puts a hand on my face and softly wipe away a tear. I then tightly hug him, crying and sobbing softly. I let go slightly, still hanging onto him. He leans in and kisses me and I kiss him back with as much force. Then we both let go. I take a step away and he holds onto my hand. I wipe away my tears with my free hand as I look into his eye.
-Until next time, m'lady, he says and bows slightly, leaving a small kiss on my hand.
-Take it easy out there, ok? I say as I let go of his hand and back away slowly. He grabs his sword that he previously put down.
-Can't promise anything, he says. I smile.
-You should probably start running, he says.
-Yeah, I say. I give him a last grin before I sprint off. And lucky I did because the roof started collapsing around me.
