《Random x Reader one-shots》Riff(WSS) x jet! Reader part2

Y/N POV:
I just found out that Riff is going to buy a gun for the rumble, and I have to stop him. Not only for others safety but for our own safety too, you never know when he cracks and shoots up a place. Guns scare the living daylights out of me. I run as I see Riffs familiar jacket and grab his arms. He and the others look annoyed at me.
-Riff, you are not buying a gun, I pant as he waves the guys off.
-Yes I'm buying a gun, you never know what might happen, he says.
-Exactly, if the Sharks agreed to no weapons, then there'll be no weapons, I say as I try to recover from my dizziness.
-Never trust those lying bastards, Riff scoffs.
-Why Riff? Why is it so hard to trust people? I ask.
-You know exactly why, he clenched his jaw. I sigh.
-Look Riff I get it, ok? I'm one of the few that actually gets it. But you can't keep blaming all your problems on the Sharks, I say and he doesn't respond.
-Why the sudden interest in what I do? He asks and I sigh frustrated.
-Because it's a gun Riff, not everyone walks around with a gun in their pockets, I say. The jets had disappeared into a nearby pub, probably where the seller was waiting on them.
-Well I'm not just anyone, am I? He asks and walks away.
-You're not buying that gun! I shout after him.
-Yeah and why not!? He yells back.
-Because I'm pregnant! I shout and when I realized that I had let it slip, my eyes go wide. Riff has stopped in his tracks. He turns around slowly and looks at me. Tears start to escape my eyes.
-What...? He asks worriedly.
-It's yours... the dates add up, I say shamefully.
-You know this isn't going to stop me, right darling? He asks and I nod and sniffle, drying my tears as they fall. He contemplates walking away and walking back to me. Then he whispers to himself before he starts taking fast and brisk steps back to me. I start tensing up in fear and take a step back as he gets closer. But he takes out the toothpick from his mouth and grabs my cheeks and kisses me passionately. I stand there shocked and he slowly slowly lets the kiss end.
-Are you sure? He asks. I nod.
-I went to the doctor as soon as I felt off. He told me, I say. He sighs.
-I understand if.... I can't bring myself to finish the sentence, so I start crying even harder. He starts aggressively shaking his head.
-No baby, no, you're a jet, we don't leave family behind, he says.
-Ok? He asks and I only nod as I start shaking lightly. He embraces me and I cling onto his jacket desperately.
-I gotta go... but we'll talk tonight after the rumble, he says and let's go, drying some tears on my cheeks. I nod again.
-Alright, he says and kisses my forehead.
Riff POV:
After being told the most important news of my life, I head into the closed pub where we'd meet the seller. I get questioned on the gun, clearly to test my knowledge. I do know my guns fairly well. But apparently I was wrong.

-The bullet is a 38 caliber, such a big hole from such a small gun, the pub owner says and points the gun at my head.
-There's not even a safety pin. It's fully loaded too so I just have to pull the trigger, he says.
I take the gun and push it to my forehead, staring right into his eyes.
-Do it... I dare you, do it, I challenge him. Blood is racing and my mind is empty. All I can think about are Y/N's words. I don't know if I wanna escape it or not. The owner points the gun away.
-You remind me of your dad, he chuckles. I frown.
-I am nothing like my dad, I say. My dad wasn't my dad, he was the sperm donor to the absolute monster of a birth giver I called mother.
-Why? The pub owner asks.
-I said I'm nothing like my dad, I remind him. He just shakes his head.
-You want the gun or no? He asks. I am holding the money between my fingers. I look down at them. In my hand was about $200-$300. Was I really about to spend this money on a gun when I could put it in a savings account for the baby's college fund? Or to buy a ring for Y/N? I look at the gun and then back at the money. I then sit up straight.
-No, I say. Everyone looks shocked at me as I stand up and wave my jet boys with me to leave. Y/N didn't want any guns, so there will be no guns.... I'll actually go buy that ring.
Later at the brawl:
With the ring box in my pocket I wait impatiently for the brawl to start, just making empty talk with the sharks while we wait for Tony, the star of the show. I tap my pocket as Bernardo talks and I wait for us to go somewhere. We're just about to start an argument as Toby shows up.
-Oh there he is finally! You're late buddy boy, I say sarcastically happy.
-He's here, now can we start? I ask Bernardo impatiently.
-No, wait Riff, Tony stops me and walks up to Bernardo. He starts apologizing for dancing with Bernardo's sister and how we're not different and how we should all just get along. Let's just say that Bernardo wasn't impressed.
-You want someone to make you look like a good guy, Bernardo states.
-That's the only reason you gringo's hit on colored girls, Bernardo says and starts hitting Tony.
-C'mon, fight! Bernardo urges. But Tony doesn't. I watch the one sided boxing match intensely and walk closely behind Tony.
-If you're a man then show it! Fight! Bernardo continues hitting Tony. But the last drop went as he hit him in the face, making him bleed. I immediately push Tony away and square a hit at Bernardo. Which in hindsight wasn't such a good idea. He's a boxer champion here in west side, what was I thinking? How stupid could I be?
Bernardo turns red and starts going after me. I duck and try to land in a few punches myself. We both got hit quite badly. But as we push and pull on each other's clothes and hair, I hear a knife fall out of his pocket and I cautiously bring out my own pocket knife. I did start worry though. What would Y/N say if she saw me now? Bernardo stares wide eyed at me as he grabs his own and we circle each other. I gulp as I try to fint his knife away so that we could return to hand to hand combat. It wasn't working very well. Instead we try to fight with the knifes as swords and we come nowhere. Until he gets a hold of mine and throws it away. I try to duck away from his knife as I try getting my own back. When I finally do I turn back to Bernardo, who is quick to burrow his knife in my stomach. I gasp and drop my knife. Bernardo's eyes widen in shock and in fear.

-Tony... I say.
-I am so sorry, Bernardo apologizes.
-Tony? I turn around and there he stands. He catches me as I loose footing. I watch as Tony puts me down on the floor with tears in his eyes, before he grabs my knife and stabs Bernardo in the stomach to. I stare shocked at his action. Ice immediately runs to my side.
-Riff, please don't go man! He begs.
-Put... pressure, I stammer as I point to my wound. He nods and immediately takes his jacket off.
-This is gonna hurt, he warns me.
-That's how I know I'm alive, I quote Y/N. I had promised her to get out alive. And I will. For her and for our baby. I wince as he puts a lot of pressure to stop the bleeding. I then look at Bernardo.
-Make sure someone helps him... I whisper.
-But Riff... Ice says.
-Just do it! I say and then groan at the pain. Ice nods at the others who run to the sharks who were about to jump us to help them with Bernardo. Tony is just standing there like the damn fool he is. I hear sirens and I faintly see myself getting loaded into an ambulance.
Y/N POV:
-Hello mrs L/N, he is stable and if you would follow me, I will show you to his room, the doctor comes back to get me from the waiting room. I take my handbag and a bouquet of flowers and follow the doctor through the hall into the room. I see the shark woman by Bernardo right by the door. She watches me as I walk by. Right next to them, with just a curtain to divide them, lays Riff. He looks so relaxed, but also very bruised. I nod to the doctor and sit down in the chair next to the bed. I put away my bag and bouquet and take Riffs hand. He opens his eyes slightly as he feels my hand and then he looks at me and smiles.
-Hey darling, he says with a raspy voice.
-Hi Riff... how're you feeling? I ask concerned.
-As well as a stabbed person can feel, he says and chuckles but immediately stops and groans.
-I just glad you're ok, I say and rub the back of his hand.
-Hey Uh, I'm just heading to Bernardo on the other side, I got her flowers, I say and pick up the bouquet.
-Alright... be careful, he says.
-I always am, I smile and kiss his cheek before walking around the curtain.
When I do I see Bernardo's girlfriend sit beside his bed. He's asleep but his machine is beeping steadily. She's reading a magazine in what I would guess was in Spanish. As I walk closer to her she looks up at me. She looks confused.
-Hi, um. I believe we haven't got introduced, we met at the dance, I say and hold out my hand for her to shake. She shakes it and smiles.
-Yes you are Riffs girlfriend? She asks.
-Yes, I'm Y/N, I say.
-My name is Anita, she answers.
-That's a very nice name. I, uh, got these for you, I say and let's go of her hand and hold out the flowers instead. She grabs them with a surprises look.
-I know we haven't really got off to the best start and all of this was just a big accident... But I want us to become friends, I say.
-I would like that, Anita says with tears in her eyes.
-I hope he heals well, I say and mention to the sleeping man in front of us.
-Me too... hey would you like to come over with Riff over a coffee sometime? Anita asks.
-Yeah sure, I smile.
-Does Thursday next week sound good? She asks.
-Sounds great, I comment.
After our talk, I went back to Riff, and I just sit and watch as he rests and we listen to the steady beeping of the machines in the room.
-Hey I got something for you, he says suddenly.
-Oh? I say.
-In my pants pocket, they're on the chair over there, Riff says and points to another chair full of his clothes. I take the jeans and put them in his lap. He immediately checks his pocket and pulls out a small box. He opens it and grabs a... a ring.
-Oh Riff... I say as he smiles and looks at it. Then he looks at me.
-I knew from the moment you told me your name that we would end up together... and the way you show compassion for absolutely everyone is so enlightening and I-... I wish I could be more like you, he starts.
-But I hope you will still have me before I get there, he ends. I smile as a small tear falls from the corner of my eye.
-Of course Riff, I say and lean over to kiss him. He kisses me back and carefully puts the ring on my finger.
-It's not much... he comments as I admire the simple silver band.
-It's perfect, I say and he smiles and kisses my hand.
-You're perfect, he says.
