Y/N POV:
-Moooom, I groan at my elderly mother as we walk into the cruise.
-What? Honey you need to relax, the divorce has been stressful for you, she says.
-Mom, the divorce was 70 years ago. I'm over it, I say and sigh.
-Well still. You've been working your butt off to get by and you won't accept money from me. You need a week off, she says and hoops her arm through mine.
-Now C'mon! I wanna see our room! Mom says and starts dragging me through the lobby. Well, people couldn't see anything but a pair of sun hats and my new sundress, but still. Yeah, me and my mom are invincible, which really comes in handy when your working at a restaurant. Mom and dad are both rich but since their fight and divorce, I've seen how much better I'd be on my own. I don't need someone to take care of me, and I don't need that. I'm fully capable on my own.
Suddenly I bump into someone and I fall.
-Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, I hear a male voice. I grab my butt as I stand up.
-It's ok, I- I cut myself short and see... nothing... except a pair of glasses. I feel my body tingle and warmth on my cheeks.
-Oh honey are you ok? Did you get hurt? Mom asks.
-No I'm fine mom, I say.
-Are you sure? I could maybe pay for something I- no, you're alright, I cut him off.
-Thank you though, I say.
-M-maybe I could make it up to you? He asks. I smile.
-U-Uhm, I say and look at my mom. She nods hysterically.
-Alright. What about tomorrow? I ask.
-Sounds good to me... I-I'll find you, he says. I grin a bit to myself as mom hooks her arm through mine again.
-You can try, I say as we walk away. I can feel him staring into my back as me and my mom go to the elevator.
In the room:
-Well he was cute, mom says as she puts her things in the closet.
-Mom stop, I say.
-I'm just saying... you'd make adorable grandkids, she says.
-MOM! I say and blush furiously. She only giggles at me.
-I'm going to the pool, I then say and grab a towel and my slippers.
-Alright honey, meet you there, mom says and I walk out of the room.
As I get to the pool I put my towel down and I sit down to moon bathe for a little while. The breeze was refreshing. I see as all kinds of different monsters of different ages play around the pool, or just talking to each other. I see Count Dracula walking around deck, and the Frankenstein's monster following. I sigh happily as I close my eyes and relax. But suddenly I hear something:

-Pssst! I hear. I look up and there's the familiar glasses.
-I knew I'd find you, he says. I smile to myself.
-Good job mister detective, I praise.
-Why thank you, he says proudly.
-Maybe the detective could get a clue on who you are miss? He asks. I pretend to think.
-Hmm... well let's see, how specific do you wanna go? I ask. He looks unamused at me.
-Names Y/N, I say.
-Y/N... wow, he says. I blush.
-And... when will our date be, madam Y/N? He asks.
-Pick me up at room 665 tomorrow at 3, and you'll see, I say before I stand up and walk to the bar by the pool. After me I can hear a:
-Wooooow....
My mom joins me as I stand by the bar and wait for the drink.
-So did he find you? She asks.
-You know he actually did, I say impressed.
-Awwww sweetie! She says excitedly.
-But it doesn't mean anything mom, I say.
-Oh pssshhhh, she gushes me and orders a drink for herself.
The next night at 3:
There is knocking at our hotel door. I am putting in earrings and my mom is in the shower.
-I'll get it! I shout at her as I walk to the door and open. There stands a well dressed man with glasses.
-Why hello, I say.
-Hi.... this is room 665 right? He jokes. I roll my eyes, but nod.
-Alright are you ready to go? He asks. I smile and nod.
-Mom I'm leaving now! I shout into the room and grab my purse.
-Alright, be safe, love you! She shouts through the shower.
-Alright, let's go before she starts blabbering, I whisper and we leave.
-Well, um, nice weather tonight, he says.
-Ugh small talk, boring... how about your name? I ask, trying to stay out of the awkwardness of the situation itself.
-Oh my name is uh- you don't know your own name? I ask.
-I know my own name! I'm just distracted by you, he says awkwardly. I smile but immediately shake it off.
-Names Griffin. I um- I'm a friend of Count Dracula, he says.
-Oh wow! I say, genuinely surprised.
-Yeah I stay at his hotel all of the time, he says.
-What? Me too, I say.
-You're kidding, he says.
-No! Well I suppose I haven't SEEN you around, I joke and he gently shoves me.
-Hey! I protest and laugh and he joins in.
Maybe tonight wouldn't be too bad after all.
We arrive at the restaurant on deck laughing.
-A table for two? The waiter asks.
-Yes please, I say. The waiter walks through the restaurant with us behind him and Griffin makes small fish puns on the side and I try to hold in a laugh. After we sat down and received our menus we start laughing.

-Wow I didn't know a man could be this funny, I confess.
-Woah really? I'm honored, he said.
-Yeah. Most men today are trash and I don't want anything to do with them, I say as the waiter pours up some wine for us.
-Huh... Tell me more, he says. I look surprised at him as he leans forward in anticipation.
-Really? I ask.
-Yeah. Tell me everything, this is really interesting, he says. I take a sip out of the wine.
-Ok. It all started when I was 16-
Two days later:
Tonight was casino night in Atlantis. Griffin had asked me out tonight again.
-So honey, just call me if you need any sort of help, and I mean ANY sort of- alright mom no, that's weird, it's been two days, I cut her off as I fix my earrings once again. But mom only laughs.
-Oh but I know a zing when I see one, you see-
She starts blabbering about how zings work and how she thought she zinged with dad and yada yada yada. During he blabbering there is another knock on the door. My mom doesn't hear so I open and there he stands, the man of the hour. He is about to yell hello but I slam my hand over his mouth and hush him.
-What? He asks.
-Let's just go before she starts egging me about grandkids, I say.
-Excuse me wh-
-Ok bye mom love you see you there! I shout as I grab his hand and my bag and slam the door behind us.
-I'm sorry, grandkids? He asks and snorts out a laugh.
-Don't ask, I groan.
We walk towards the casino and I wave to my mom as I see her. She waves flirty and mentions to Griffin not so subtly. Griffin is turned around and grabbing drinks for us. Mom winks largely at me as he starts turning around.
-Oh that game over there looks fun let's go, I say and push him towards the other end of the casino.
-What's going on? he asks as we get here.
-What? Oh nothing I just wanted to play, I lie.
-Mhmmm, he says suspiciously. I nod and then I look up at Frankenstein... who has giant crab claws for hands.
-Uhm... I say.
-Oh hey Frankie! Griffin says as he sits down.
-Hey Griffin! Psssst don't tell my wife I was here, Frankie says and puts his foot up on the table.
Later:
-Ok but WHAT is going on!? I ask as the machine human thing and Johnny the human is having a music battle.
-I honestly do not know, Griffin says as he holds me protectively. Suddenly everything goes south. The octopus that they're all trying to control with music is crashing everything. It's taking monsters hostage. I scream as debree from atlantis is flying everywhere and Griffin is throwing me left and right to try and keep us from harms way.
-Drac do something! He shouts.
-I am a bit stuck right now Griffin! Drac shouts back.
-Oh Jesus Christ... I sigh. But faster then I can blink, I see our captain run up the evil monster and punches Dracula out of its grasp. But she gets knocked over and gets saved by Dracula's daughter.
-This.... This is too much, I say and shake my head.
After the cruise:
-Alright... thanks Griffin for Keene me safe back there... I don't know what I could've done if you weren't there, I say as me and my mom share a shock blanket and she is gently petting my head.
-No I'm sorry for dragging you into it, he says as he has his own blanket.
-You didn't do this, I say.
-I know but I don't know what else to say, he says. I giggle.
-Honey, we better leave, Mom says as our car waits for us. I nod to her and smile to Griffin, before I turn around.
-Wait Y/N! I hear and I turn around. Griffin runs towards me.
-This may come really sudden but I really like you. I think we even zinged and I don't wanna loose contact with you, he says. I giggle once I realize what he is asking.
-Are you asking for my number? I ask. He nods.
-Yeah... yeah I am, he says sheepishly.
-That's sweet... yeah you can have my number, I say. He hands me his phone and almost drops it in the process. I make myself a new contact in his phone with my name and number.
-Here you go. Why don't you... give me a call when you get home? I ask.
-Yeah I can do that, he says confidently.
-Great, I say. We stand in a weird silence. We make eye contact and then look away and blush. As he looks away and rubs his eyes, I lean forward and kiss his cheek.
-I love you, he sighs out and then his eyes open wide. So does mine.
-Awwww isn't that sweet, mom sighs.
-mom! I light up in red.
-I'm just saying. And if you're making grandkids I want at least 2, she says.
-MOM! Both me and Griffin shout.

*!* This story is currently being continued on a different page, following years of hiatus and extensive rewrites *!* Please follow the link to read the up-to-date version: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/53863/cycles-of-ruin Basil von Doom is a powerful dungeon keeper with a simple mission: to bring ruin and destruction upon civilized worlds at the height of their decadence and stagnation. Much like his father before him, the new master of House Doom is a prodigy of war, yet the venerable minions of his household still hold strange loyalties toward his missing ancestor, silently comparing the legendary rage of his father to the more pragmatic approach of the son. Adding to Basil’s frustrations is the lack of accomplishment he feels for his work, with the dungeon keeper often taking on handicaps just to give his enemies a fighting chance. With all the power and wealth one could ever dream of already within his grasp, Basil now finds that the achievements of others kindle more joy in his heart than his own crushing victories. Thus Basil has taken up mentoring the next generation of dungeon keepers to try and diagnose the cause for his own lack of passion. With his apprentice, Elnora, managing most of the daily work around the dungeon, Basil can finally turn his attention towards his personal concerns, such as tackling the shadow of his legendary father that still looms large over him.

Ruthless Reincarnator
Its a first try at a different approach of the "i've reincarnated in another world" genre. No "i wanna go back home", or "i wanna make friends" stuff. In fact, the most emotional moments will probably happen in the Intermission chapters. On the bright side, i have already completed the main story! And it is a short one, of course. Only 100~~something pages long (i'm writting the intermission chapters for now) and every chapter shall be mostly 1 or 2 pages long only. So everyone should have something to read for the next 2 months or something. Obs: I have also opened a Patrenon. I intend on posting 1 chapter every day and asking for donations in case people want more. Why ? ´cause i like money. Have a good reading everyone.
