Y/N POV

-What!? We shout at the same time.

-That's not fair! I say.

-Yeah! Don't I have a say in this? He says.

You probably don't have a clue what's going on. Well let me introduce myself. My name is Y/N L/N and I'm a pure blood. I'm in sixth year of Hogwarts and a Gryffindor, but many of my friends joke that I should've been put in Slytherin... Sometimes I wish that I was. You see, I have a bit of an ongoing disagreement with the Weasley twins, George to be specific. Ever since our first year he's just hated my guts so I did the most logical thing and hated him right back. He is such an annoying prick and his laugh haunts me every time I close my eyes, ugh. I wish I could beat his smug smirk off of his face but, sadly, I can't.

Anyways...

This here situation started early this morning. I was just eating breakfast, like usual. The twins came in late, as always, and sat down at the other side of the table. I let out the breath I was holding and continued on eating.

-Hey Y/N, George is staring at you again, one of my friends point out and I look towards where they sat down. And there he was, glaring at me. I sent him a glare back and stuck out my tongue at him. He looked offended back at me and I grinned in victory as I continued my breakfast.

Everyone had been off for this past month. Mainly because the teachers had been a bit on edge. But that was understandable. A new law about arranged marriages had been made and all pure or half blood families was to arrange a marriage. Now they didn't just marry off 12 year olds, because that would be absolutely horrendous. No, they married off us 16 year olds. Now legally we weren't to get married until we were both 18, but we still got into arrangements. Many 16 year olds had already been brought the bad news by our professors, so everyone that are of pure blood was dreading to be called by a professor... only thing is no one knows how they were picked out by the professors.

Not only that but the triwizard tournament was up and running and two schools were visiting. I was a big fan of the durmstrang star player, Viktor Krum. I trained quidditch as fast as I got an opportunity to, to be as good as he is. I was in the quidditch team but... you know my circumstances... now Viktor wasn't the only well known player. And the durmstrang boys that weren't quidditch players were still very handsome. Sadly enough, most of the durmstrang boys were already in an arrangement. A true tragedy, really.

Suddenly I got a poke on my shoulder. I turned around and there stood professor McGonagall.

-Y/N, the headmaster would like to speak to you after breakfast, she said.

-Oh, alright professor... Have I done anything wrong? I asked nervously. It's not like you were asked to the headmasters office everyday.

-No, it is more of a family matter, she says. I looked shocked at her before she continued down the hall. I could see that she grabbed a hold of the twins and talked to them too for a while before moving along.

-A family matter? I asked myself.

-What? My friend across the table asked.

-She told me it was a family matter.... I grumbled.

-Maybe your grandmother got sick again? My friend asked.

-No she just got medication for that, I said.

-Well I guess you'll just have to figure it out once you get there, my friend said. I thought no more of it and continued my breakfast.

As more and more people started to leave for classes, I saw the twins move out of the hall too.

-C'mon, classes start in twenty, my friend said and packed their bag.

-I have to talk to the headmaster, remember? I asked.

-Ah right... Well the class is on the way, my friend said. I laughed.

-I can go with you, I said before we headed out.

After I had dropped my friend off at her class, I started to head towards the headmasters office. Once I got there and got up the stairs, I was met with professor McGonagall. She smiled slightly at me.

-Now come on, you're a bit late young lady, she said.

-Oh I'm sorry, I say and she hurriedly ushered me towards a door to the official office.

-It's quite alright dear, she whispered before she opens the door for me. And the first thing I saw as I stepped in, was a red head sitting by the desk, headmaster Dumbledore on the other side.

-Ah miss L/N, take a seat, Dumbledore said. As I moved to the other chair by the desk, the red head turned around... and it was of course the famous George Weasley.

-L/N, he almost spat out at me.

-Weasley, I said back with venom in my voice.

-So... we have some urgent news. Your parents wished they could be here, and tell you the news themselves. But they handed us the official papers, Dumbledore said. I sent him a curious glance.

-Your parents have set you up in an arrangement, he said.

And this is where we are now... surprised? Yeah me neither.

I look at George in disbelief.

-You? It's my parents who sold me off to you! I protest. He glares at me.

-Don't you dare, I am as much of a victim as you are in this, he points a finger at me.

-Oh really? I have a paper that states otherwise! I argue back.

-Children! McGonagall interrupts. We look at her.

-This is nothing to argue about! The arrangement has been approved by the ministry and therefore will happen, she says.

-But professor- It's the law, she interrupts George. He shuts his mouth and I can see how his jaw clenches.

-Professor I don't think you understand, I despise him! I beg Dumbledore.

-And I hate her! George joins in.

-Something has got to be done about this! George insists to the two professors. Dumbledore cannot do anything but sigh.

-I am afraid children, that there is nothing that can be done. The law has stated that all half blood and pure blood children are to be set up in an arrangement with another witch or wizard through the ministry, Dumbledore calmly states. We stand quiet for a while. McGonagall looks between us.

-I understand if you would like to contact your parents, we could arrange a meeting for you, she says sadly. I take my bag and stand up.

-I'm sorry professor, but with all due respect I don't think I'll ever want to speak to my parents ever again, I say.

-And I don't think I'll be able to attend any of today's classes either. Now I will beg you adieu, I say and head out of the office.

As fast as I got down into the empty corridors I start to cry. I cry more the closer I get to the Gryffindor common room. Suddenly I see another familiar ginger; Fred Weasley. I see how he looks concerned at me. I try to ignore him but he stops me.

-Hey, what's going on? He asks. He's the nicer one of the twins. He's never wished me any harm.

-I really don't want to talk about it, I say.

-C'mon, what's troubling you? He asks. I feel rage burn in me.

-Why don't you ask your brother once you find him, I snap.

-Who, Ron? He asks. I shake my head.

-Wait, George? He asks. I look into his eyes.

-Oh what did that idiot do now? He asks.

-He didn't do anything, I say. Fred looks wondering at me. Then I hear footsteps behind me and I turn to see the other twin heading towards us.

-Now if you'll excuse me, I say and immediately leave the situation.

As I get to the common room I sit down on the sofa in front of the fireplace and try to dry the never ending tears dropping from my eyes. Then I hear the portrait open and close. I look up and the twins have walked in. George seemed to look ok but glares at me as fast as his eyes fall on me. I glare back and grab my bag as I stand up from the sofa. We glare at each other for a couple of seconds before I head up to the girls dormitories. When I get there I lay down on my bed and try to rest for a while.

-I can't believe this is happening to me... I have to be dreaming.... In that case I wish I wake up soon, I say to myself as I curl up on my bed and softly fall asleep.

A few weeks later:

It's late fall now. I've spoken to my parents about it and how they thought that this arrangement would do good things for the family. I didn't agree but what 16 year old would. Turns out that almost everything is set up for you once the arrangement is accepted. I've already started to get questions about wedding cake flavor and the wedding dress, which honestly only came from younger students. They thought that it was absolutely amazing to be set up in a wedding, but... It wasn't. It's hell on earth.

My friend shoos a couple of way to giddy 14 year olds as they kept on pestering me with questions. Then she looks up and glares behind me. I turn around and there stand the twins.

-Weasleys, I greet very exhaustedly.

-Good morning L/N, Fred says. George grumbles a good morning, but Fred nudges him forcefully in the side. George flinches but sighs.

-So Hogsmeade is this weekend, George says.

-Yeah I've noticed, I say, completely uninterested in whatever he's going to say next.

George looks pained at Fred and Fred just nods his head towards me. George sighs and turns back to me.

-So my parents thought that since we are in.... in an arrangement that I should ask you out to Hogsmeade, George groans out the last part.

-Awww that looked so painful... I say sarcastically.

-Are you done now so that I can finish my lunch? I ask.

-Did you even listen to what I asked? He asks.

-I did. But as you can tell, I am not interested. I can see George getting ready to shout up a storm, but Fred stops him and shoves him.

-Well you got until Friday to decide, Fred answers and pushes George away from me.

-Oh thank god, I sigh once they're gone and continue my lunch.

Later in the evening:

-So, what're you going to answer? My friend asks me as we sit in the common room studying.

-For what? I ask.

-George's question, she says. I scoff. But she still looks at me with anticipation.

-Oh you can't be serious, I say.

-I am! Are you just gonna turn down the only offer he's ever even tried to make amends with you? She asks. I open my mouth to object, but... I realize she's right.

-I.. I don't know, I answer truthfully.

We quickly made our work before we packed up and headed up to our dorms. I immediately sat down at my desk and started writing a letter to my parents, asking for advice. I asked what they think I should do because of the situation we're in, before I have it to my owl and sent it away into the evening. I sigh.

And now to wait till the morning...

The next morning:

As I am finishing up my breakfast, mail starts arriving with our owls. My owl drops a newspaper, my favorite magazine and a letter. I can see from the wax stamp that it's from my parents. I open it and read it immediately.

-....So...? What do they think? My friend asks. I don't answer but continue to read. I finally put down the letter into my bag and pack my things, appetite long lost.

-So do you have your answer? My friend looks up at me.

-I think I do, I say and walk over to the other end of the table. I try to keep myself calm and to not burst out in anger.... what if he did? Well they said until Friday and it's actually just Thursday. I stop behind the tall redheads.

-George Weasley? I ask. He turns to me and his smile turns into a scowl.

-What is it L/N? He asks. I glare at him for his tone.

-Well I just came to let you know that I accept your invitation to Hogsmeade this weekend, I say and hold my head up high for not bursting up in flames. He looks shocked at me.

-I-I O-oh, he just says. I look at him.

-Just thought you should know, I say and move along the hall, out into the corridors.

That Saturday:

Today I've decided that I actually will try and make an effort to be nice, although it would solely depend on how he acts. I go down to the common room where Fred, Angelina and George stands. Fred and Angelina seems to be chatting up a storm, while George just stands by. I clear my throat and the three look at me. George looks up and his expression doesn't change.

-Hey Y/N! Ready to go? Fred asks cheerily.

-Sure, I just say and I head after Fred and Angelina without a second glance at George, who just started walking next to me.

He doesn't say a word so I don't say anything either. We get to the carriages and hop into one. As the carriage starts to roll away, Fred and Angelina has started to feel the tense energy between me and George.

-So Y/N... Angelina asks and I look at her.

-You and George are in an arrangement? She asks. I nod.

-Yep, I say. I can sense that George is beginning to fume.

-Have you decided anything yet? She then asks.

-Nothing more than this trip, no, I say and I can feel George glare at me.

-Well I'm sorry, did you want a bouquet of flowers too? Maybe for me to roll out the red carpet too? George asks aggressively.

-George! Fred says.

-I didn't say that! I say, taken aback from the outburst.

-Well you heavily implied it! He says.

-Did not! I protest.

-Alright enough! Fred says as George opened his mouth, but it quickly closes again and he slumps together and looks out the window on his side.

-So that's what you get for trying to be nice, I mumble to myself and look out the window on my side.

As we get to Hogsmeade we decide to start by going to the three broomsticks to just get something quick to eat before we head around town. Fred opens the door for Angelina and she giggles as they walk in. George grabs the door and opens it a bit and walks through it, not leaving it for me. I grab the door before it closes and walk inside for myself. Fred hangs up Angelinas clothes on her chair. George sighs and turns to me to do the same, but I've already started to take off my jacket.

-Oh no don't worry I got it. Wouldn't want you to overwork yourself, I say and sit down. George growls and sits down harshly on the chair.

We then walk into the sweet shop. It was full of people stacking up on candy until the next trip was going to be. Not to mention that we had visitors this year too, so it was extra full. Fred was sweet and bought Angelina a bag of small chocolate eggs that hatched in the mouth. She was nice enough to share when George had said:

-You have your own money, don't you?

His attitude made me count the minutes until I could return to my dorm room and curse him from a safe distance.

A couple of days later:

It's dinner time. I'm just taking my time, talking to my friends and sharing jokes.

Winter is here. A thin layer of snow had set on the ground and it was here to stay. This meant that Christmas was just around the corner. And with the triwizard tournament this year, it meant the yule ball. There was supposed to be a grand ball at Christmas Eve. I couldn't really care for it. I was going to stick to what I had done for the last several years and read my favorite Christmas book by the fireplace.

Suddenly George walks up to me, unexpectedly. I thought that after that horrible, so called "date", he would've given up by now... apparently not.

-L/N, he greets.

-Weasley, I greet back. I can hear a group of 4th years giggle and look my way. I snarl at them and they stop immediately.

-Could we talk out in the corridor? He says after some thinking.

-Yeah sure, I sigh and follow him out into the corridor. He walks with his hands in his pocket and he's slightly hunched over. His overgrown red hair bounces as he walks and I have to look away. He couldn't know that I stared at him for a moment too long.

As we get into the hallway, it's nice and calm and quiet. He stops and he looks annoyed and puzzled as he turns to me. I cross my arms in front of my chest.

-Look, don't think that this was my idea, he starts. I look confused at him.

-My family practically begged me to do it, he says. I make a hand motion to ask him to get to the point.

-Don't rush me, I'm trying to prevent any misunderstandings, he says annoyed.

-I understand that neither of us would want to, but could you got to the yule ball with me, he almost growls out and he turns pink.

-Excuse me, come again? I ask confused.

-You heard what I said, he snaps in embarrassment.

-Well yeah, but I just couldn't believe it, I say. He sighs annoyed.

-Look I'm not asking for us to go as boyfriend or girlfriend. We don't even need to dance, all I need is to walk into the hall with you and to get a a picture of the two of us to send to my parents, he says.

-And that's it? I ask.

-That's it, he confirms. I sigh.

-Well I guess the photo would be nice to send to my parents, I say.

-Alright, deal. But I choose the flowers, I say.

-Yeah yeah whatever, he says.

-Good. Now if you don't mind I'm gonna go finish my dinner and have some dessert and get a sugar high so we can both forget this ever happened, I say, with a twinge of sadness. I wish that he could stop being so negative around me so that I didn't have to say stuff like that. He looks at me in shock.

-Oh Uhm, Yeah, m-me too, he says. I turn from him and walk back into the hall. I take a deep breath and fake a large smile when I get back to my friends.

George POV:

I sulk back into the hall and I get back to Fred.

-So how'd it go? He asks. I look after Y/N as she eats a chocolate pudding and laugh. I feel a sinking feeling in my stomach and fake a snarl.

-Ok, I guess, I say, faking a very present irritation.... But deep down I was sad... she wanted to forget an ask to the yule ball. That's kind of heartbreaking.

-So you asked her? Fred asks. I look at him.

-Yeah I did, I say.

-And what did she answer? Angelina asks from across the table. I glare at her for getting into my personal business.

-She said yes, I say.

-Aw yeah let's go! Fred cheers.

-But she's only going for the photo, I say and put a spoonful of a dessert flying past on the table. Fred groans.

Yup... welcome to the life of me.
