《Random x Reader one-shots》Sherman peabody x reader: the Valentines day

Y/N POV:
The first year of high school... nobody told me that it was this challenging. I was always battling my want to get into my dream university and being a high school drop out.
But my parents couldn't have that, they believe in me and they know I'm a gifted kid. I sigh as I close my locker and move towards my first lesson of the day. As I walk through the hallways, I see posters in bright colored letters. They were all informing about the Valentine's Day at school. What was gonna happen is that everyone received a paper heart to write something on and give it to someone. Preferably your boyfriend or girlfriend. I mean some people give their hearts to friends or siblings and stuff, but ya know... teenagers.
I smile as I see my friend from history class; Sherman Peabody. A smile takes my lips and a giddy feeling fills my body.
-Hey Sherman! I say and stop by his locker.
-Oh, hey Y/N! He says and closes his locker.
-You ready for the history test on Friday? I ask.
-Sure am! But I'm more excited for the Valentine's Day, He says and looks at a poster.
-Ooohhhh does Sherman he a crush that he will reveal on Friday maybe? I tease.
-Maybe, he hints.
-You haven't told me of any girl, or boy, I say.
-Well... maybe I wanna surprise you with someone, he says. I nod.
-Fair enough, I smile. I tell him goodbye as he walks off to math class. I continue down the hall and I get a sinking feeling in my stomach. I hope whoever Sherman likes makes him happy. He's my best friend... that I have a crush on but now I'm in denial. If Sherman likes someone I can't be the one to get in the way.
Later that week;
-Well Sherman? Now that the homework for the week is done, care to tell me about your special person? I ask through FaceTime. He laughs.

-Well, she's adorable for one. And smart, He says. I smile. She sounds just like his type.
-She likes my glasses and she thinks that my hair looks best when it's a complete disaster, he laughs. I giggle with him. Seeing him this happy over a girl made me happy and sad at the same time. At least he will be happy.
-She's also the coolest person I know so that's a lot coming from her, he says. I smile.
-Does this girl have a name? I ask.
-I won't tell you. You'll know tomorrow, he says. I groan.
-can't you just give me a hint? I ask.
-No, he smiles teasingly. I roll my eyes at him and laugh as we continue talking about another subject.
Friday:
The week was quickly done. Heart shaped cards had been taped to everyone's lockers to be written on and then given to their special someone throughout the day. Excitement was overwhelming the school and everyone was talking loudly in the halls. I met Sherman again.
-Hi Sherman! Have you written anything yet? I ask.
-Not yet. I think I'll write it during first period, he says.
-Nice, I say.
-Who are you going to give yours to? He asks.
-I don't know yet... I'll figure it out, I cover up. I plan on writing it to him but as a friend, to not make anything weird between him and I if he's gonna make his first move with that girl.
-Ah. Well you better hurry up! Sherman says as he walks away for his first class.
-Yeah yeah, I say and wave him off.
I flip my pencil in between my fingers as I try to think of something nice to write.
I try to listen to the teachers talking as well as coming up with something clever. It wasn't as easy as people made it out to be. I started with the first sentence.
"Hi Sherman! You're my best friend and I think you're really cool."

I sigh as it was the best thing I could come up with. Next lesson I write the next thing.
"I always have the best times with you when we study through FaceTime. Your history jokes always manage to amaze me!"
I put away the heart as my classmates sit beside me and start up a conversation.
As lunch gets closer I put away the heart in my backpack and locker. I talk to a few of my math class as Sherman and two of his other friends join in. Suddenly one of his friends ask him about his heart.
-Well I think it's pretty much finished. I just need to get to her at a good time, he says. I smile.
-That's cute Sherman, you put studies and lunch first, I tease.
-Well I kinda have to, he says and blushed a bit. I laugh.
The rest of the lessons fly by and at the end of the day I have an ok letter.
"Hi Sherman! You're my best friend and I think you're really cool. I always have the best times when we study through FaceTime. Your history jokes always manage to amaze me! Today I wish you nothing but love and happiness, however you wanna spend it. Remember that you've always got a friend in me."
I smile at it as I get the final things in my locker and walk towards Sherman's locker.
-Hey Sherman! I greet as I get there. He turns around and smiles at me.
-Hi, he blushes.
-Have you given your heart to your girl yet? I ask.
-No I was just about to get there, he laughs nervously.
-Good, because that means I can give you this first, I say and hand him my heart. He reads it and becomes all red in the face.
-Awww Y/N that's so sweet, he says and puts a hand in front of his eyes as he blushes even more. I laugh a bit.
-Now C'mon Sherman. Can I join you when you give away your letter? I'm really curious to see who it is, I say. The last bit comes out a bit sarcastic.
-Well, um, he says and flaps his letter a bit.
-We don't really have to go anywhere, he says. I tilt my head to the side. He then just puts the letter out to me. I look at him in confusion.
-Here, he says. I take it and read it.
"Dear Y/N.
I know we've been friends ever since high school started, but every time I'm with you I feel at peace. I feel like I'm home and nothings wrong with the world. I like you, like, really much. And I'm to cowardly to ask you this in person so I decided to write it instead. Will you go out with me?"
I look up at him. He scratches his neck nervously.
-Well...? He asks shakily. I break out in a big smile and embrace him in a big hug.
-Yes, I say and let go.
-Wait, really? He asks.
-Yeah. I really like you too, I just... I don't know, I just didn't tell you, I say and shrug and I turn warm in my cheeks.
-You do? He smiles and I nod.
-Wow... does that mean I can hold your hand? He asks. I giggle and nod, grabbing his hand in mine.
-Yes you can, dork, I say.
-Yes! He says before closing his locker and walking out of the school with me. He smiles proudly at his friends as he walks past them with my hand in his. Many look shocked and others look impressed.
-But I'm your dork, right? Sherman asks.
-Yes, you're my dork, I smile.
-Nice, he says as he continues to walk and I follow him. The whole way to his home.
And we couldn't stop blushing...

Starts picking up around chapter 25. As story progresses themes of slavery, human experimentation, and some sexual content will be added. ** This is a story inspired by novels like Warlock of a Magus World and Age of Adept. I will be taking some ideas from each but trying to make my own story using the world ideas i love from these novels. I am also a first time writer mainly doing this while trapped inside due to the events going on in the world. So feedback is appreciated.
