Y/N POV

I am a monster... hard to believe, but I am.

I'm a siren. I have the power of knowing what people want to see and changing into that form. I've been in headquarters as long as I can remember. But before that, I was a siren at the beaches of Mexico. And when I came here, I met Link. And just as for everyone, I changed appearance for what he wanted me to look like. And I've kept that form ever since. Normally I'd look like Link but more... womanly and revolting. It's been almost 50 years. And Link and I have been a couple for about 30 of those years.

Susan joined us about 5 years ago. It's nice to have her around when you've been the only girl around for a long time.

But right now, my trouble is trying to stay away from Link. Why, you ask?

Well, because he proposed to me 3 days ago and I said no. Why did I say no? Because the only form of me he's ever seen is human. He'd run miles if he'd ever see my real self.

-Why won't you just talk to him? Susan asks as I'm pacing around her room.

-Because he's never seen my real form Susan! He's only seen me like this. Don't forget that I'm a monster for a reason! I say frustrated. I've been hiding in her full coverage cell for the past 2 days when I knew that Link and doc had tried breaking an entry into mine. And they're a lost as Bob so they would never figure out I was in here. The captain kindly let Susan bring my food after dinner hours. I was never in the common area either. I just stayed in here by myself, with Susan's tv, watching bad reality tv.

But today was different. There had been an alien flyaway attempt in Texas, and they were holding humans hostage. So we needed to rescue them and send them back to where they came from.

I look at Link who looks deep in thought.

I sigh.

-Susan what do I do? I ask for probably the millionth time for the past three days.

-I don't know Y/N. I've already told you what I think, and you didn't like that idea, Susan says.

I sigh again and groan.

-Why me? I whisper to myself.

Later during the mission:

-Y/N, where are you? I can hear Doc ask me through comms.

-I'm gonna get these people out of here, I whisper as I hide behind a corner with the aliens own blaster weapons.

-Y/N, no it's too dangerous, even for you, Link says concerned.

-There is no other choice Link, I-! I get cut of by someone holding their hand over my mouth and dragging me away.

-Y/N? Y/N!? Link asks in my comms.

The person, or should I say Alien, throws me to the ground. He grabs the blaster and throws it away from me. I growl at him and he walks away, sneering down at me.

-Ok good, so now Y/N's caught so what do we do now? Susan asks.

-Well... They don't like loud noises, we could try that, Doc says.

-And how do you suppose we do that? Link asks tiredly.

-We have to make the people scream, I sigh.

-And how do we do THAT!? Bob asks confused.

I sigh.

-We have to put out something so revolting and scary that they can't help but to scream, Doc says.

-And we'll do that how exactly? Link asks.

-I... need to change form... I say and look around. People were crying and terrified and I get terrified myself to do this to them.

-What? Y/N, what do you mean? Link asks.

-I mean that I have to turn into my original, no cover, form, I say.

-No Y/N, you don't have to do that at all! We can see you through security, I- Doc will fix this! Susan says. I look up at the big camera.

-I'm sorry Link, I say and a tear falls as my hair disappears and scales start forming on my skin.

Third person POV:

-Wow... Link says as he sees the siren that was the real Y/N. People saw her and screamed loudly.

-Well, a-alright! Plan is in action! Let's go! Go, go, go! Doc says to the team and they all leave... but Link stays by the screens a bit longer. He couldn't believe what he was seeing... it was the most... gorgeous thing he'd seen in over 40 years...

-Link, come on! Susan yells at him. He nods and follows them.

The gang runs through the UFO-well... the space ship, blasters in hand. Link was so mad and entranced that he'd shoot every alien life form that he could see.

Meanwhile, the aliens that were holding the humans captured were crawling on the floor when the sound from the hideous fish monster sounds like a singing angel. The gang can hear the entrancing singing through the halls as they run. Link stops as Doc is preparing to blow the last door up.

-That's Y/N alright, he smirks as a boom can be heard. The dust settles and they all run inside, trapping the aliens and releasing humans to the escape plan outside of the ship.

When the aliens has signed a peace offer with the worlds leaders and flown back to their part of their galaxy, the gang is back in the headquarters.

Y/N's sitting alone in a corner, grumbling to herself.

-How is she feeling? Bob asks.

-Someone has to go talk to her, Susan says.

Link looks over at the other fish in the room sadly and sighs. He begins walking over to her.

-Link? Doc asks. Link ignores him.

-I don't think that is a good idea, Susan says. Link ignores her too. Y/N is sitting with her back turned towards them all. Link takes a seat beside her.

Y/N POV:

-Hey darling... how are you feeling? Link asks from beside me. I scoff.

-Well I'm hideous, aren't I? No meaning in hiding me anymore, I say angrily and dry some tears from my scaley, green cheeks.

-No, Y/N I- you think I'm absolutely hideous now huh? Wish you never tried to propose? I cut him off.

-No... Y/N you're completely wrong, Link says and walks around me and grabs my hands, kneeling before me. I look at him.

-You are the most beautiful form I've ever seen you in, he says and smiles at me.

-What about that time in Malibu where I dressed for the beach? I say.

-I just said that because I... well, you can't blame me, can you? He laughs.

-What about the time machine mission? I ask.

-That was just because you got the grooves babe! Link says.

-But what abo- Y/N! Link interrupts me.

-The point is, that no matter what your form is... I'd never stop loving you, he says and strokes my cheeks. I start crying and sniffling.

-I was just afraid that you loved that picture perfect image of me so much that- that you'd hate my real form, I cry.

-Y/N, you're forgetting one thing... Link says and puts our palms together so that our fingers match up.

-We're monsters, remember? We're not supposed to be pretty, he says. I giggle and dry my tears.

-So Y/N, I'll ask you one more time... Will you marry me? An ancient old dude with a skin complexion? He asks. I giggle.

-Only if you'll take a 50 year old salt water chick with a skin complexion, I say.

-Any day of the week baby, he says before he pulls me up from the bench, dips me and kisses me.

Applauds can be heard throughout the whole headquarters and Bob himself spits out a ring, that Link catches expertly and puts on my finger.

-A beautiful ring for a beautiful fish, he says.

-I hope you paid for this, I joke.

-Eh, general will take care of it, Link says, before kissing me again. I giggle into the kiss as confetti rains down from the ceiling and Bob embracing us.

Life couldn't be more perfect.
