Y/N POV:

Well, turns out our mother is a crazy dragon lady and the big ice-blasting dragon is the alpha of the dragons... and now dads here.

-No, dad, we need to talk, Hicxup says and dad and Gobber leads us through some tunnels in the ice cave.

-We can talk on the way, dad says angrily.

-No, dad, this isn't a "talk on the way" type of talk, this is more of the life changing type, I say.

-Yeah, unlike most of our surprises, I think you'll like this one, Hiccup says.

-just add it to the pile, dad says.

-you just have to handle it delicately, I say.

Suddenly Gobber stops at an opening. Gobber turns to us and points out there.

-I think you should take this... he says and pats dad on the shoulder.

-Oh boy, he then says and sits down on a rock.

Dad then brings out his sword.

-Oh, ehm, dad could you put the sword down, please...? I ask, as he briskly walks in there...

And then just stops. I hold my breath as dad spots her. Her.

Dad drops his sword and takes off his helmet as we walk out from behind him.

-I know what you're gonna say Stoick... How could I have done this? Stay away for all of these years, and why didn't I come back to you? Mom says quickly.

-To our children. Well what sign did I have that you could change Stoick? That anyone on Berk could? She asks as dad walks closer to her in awe.

-So many times to stop fighting, but did any of you ever listen? She asks and cloudjumper crawls out from behind a wall of ice.

-This is why I never got married. Well, this and one other reason, Gobber tells us. Too much information, but alright.

-I know that I left you to raise Hiccup and Y/N alone... but I thought you were better off alone, but I was wrong, and I see that now, mom begins backing away as dad gets close.

She hits the ice wall.

-Oh stop being so Stoick, Stoick! Go on, shout, scream, say something! Mom says and dad puts a hand on her cheek. I watch them intensely as their soulmark glows slightly from under their shirt sleeves.

-You are as beautiful as the day I lost you... dad says quietly. Mom just stands shocked there for a while, before they share a kiss and their soulmark glows a lot brighter.

"Oh, how I wish that was how my soulmate encounter would've been...." I think and grab my soul mark on my chest.

Meanwhile, Eret's POV:

We're being escorted by Dragos men to the plank, where we are to jump into water that's way below freezing cold. I look over the edge and my soulmark glows slightly.

I sigh softly. "Alright... I know I told you that you could piss off.... but I need to meet you again, before I die" I think as I fake a smirk.

-Looks refreshing. Ladies first, I say and mention for Astrid to go first. Astrid glares daggers at me.

-Oh you slimy son of a- duck! I say as I kick one of the guards over Astrid as she ducks. I cut my ropes before grabbing ahold of another weapon and swinging them around, making the guards go unconscious. Then I look at Astrid and she looks shocked at me.

-Ok, that's it, you're perfect again, Ruffnut says as I take out two guards that's running away with poison darts.

-Well, Eret son of Eret, what made you change your mind? Astrid asks as we go looking for their dragons.

-Well, first of all, I'm sick of Drago treating me like dirt under his shoe, I say. Astrid nods.

-And second, I'd like to meet my soulmate once again before I die, I say.

-Oh, so you've already met your soulmate? Who are they? She asks curiously. I look at her with a confused look, before showing my mark again, that's starting to shimmer again. Astrid gasps.

-Wait, Y/N's your soulmate!? She asks shocked.

-Well, I didn't know that was her name... but yes, I say shamefully.

-So you kidnapped your soulmate? Astrid says and I nod.

-Sadly, I say.

-Oh wow. Then welcome to the club of "being soulmate with a Haddock"... trust me, it's a wild ride, Astrid says as we start looking in the cages.

-Oh, Iv'e noticed, I say and start cracking a cage open.

Y/N POV:

Mom and dad just finished their wedding song and we're all just joking around and eating, Hiccup and I telling mom about our great ideas for Berk and how to make it more dragon friendly.

And suddenly, we hear big explosions outside. Mom runs outside onto a cliff to watch what's happening, and we all follow.

-Oh no... I say when I see all the ships and canons firing at the ice fort.

-What do we do? Dad asks.

-We need to evacuate all dragons, mom says. Dad nods and we do too.

-Alright... dad says. Me and Hiccup immediately run inside and mount our dragons, blasting the canons to shreds. Some of the dragons are fleeing the cave, but get caught in different dragon traps. I go to release them, but suddenly, their all covered in zippelback smoke and then a blast. I look up and I see the twins! I laugh in astonishment as I fly up again and fly beside Hiccup. Then I see Stormfly! But... Astrid is not the one flying... no, Eret is! I look at the hilarious and unusual sight.

-Well, hows it going young rider? Hiccup asks teasingly.

-Alright! Still getting the hang of it! Eret says nervously, and looks at me.

-It looks like it's going great, I smirk as Eret fumbles with the navigation of it all. Eret laughs and looks at me, our soul marks glowing slightly.

-Where have you been? Astrid then asks us.

-Oh, you know... I say and smirk at Hiccup.

-Just catching you with mom, Hiccup says amused as mom flies above us.

-That's your MOTHER!? Eret and Astrid say simultaneously.

-Yep! I say proudly, but notice how a dragon get caught in another trap. I then dive to set it free.

Later:

Drago and his alpha takes control of D/n and Toothless and they're both charging at me and Hiccup.

-No, buddy don't listen to him, Hiccup says.

-He's controlling your mind! Shut him out! I tell D/n, who's irises are narrowed into slits.

Suddenly I see dad heading for us.

-No, dad! Hiccup and I say, but her pushes us away and....

-Noooo! Hiccup and I shout and run towards dad, who lies lifeless on the ground. Mom, who checks his pulse, shakes her head at us. I begin sobbing and dropping down beside him. I throw myself over him and cry into his chest.

-No, dad... dad, please come back... I just got my family, I can't loose you now... I sob loudly as everyone gathers around us.

-No, go away! You caused this! Hiccup yells at Toothless and D/N, who turned back to normal. They shamefully walk away, but I notice how Drago takes control over all of the dragons again... and they slowly leave us.

Gobber pushes the boat out into the ocean. Everyone grabs an arrow and a bow and dips them into burning coal. Tears stream down my face as Hiccup and I fire the first two arrows, that land perfectly onto the boat, that slowly but surely catches on fire. Everyone else fired and the boat quickly erupts in flames. I sniff and cry as Gobber holds a speech.

Closest to me was Eret, and I shake slightly as I just lean onto him. He hesitantly puts a hand on my shoulder and brushes his thumb in circles.

-I'm sorry dad... I whisper and try to dry my tears. Eret then puts both of his arms around me like a hug from behind. I put my hand on his arm.

-Were not the chiefs you wanted us to be... and we're not the peacekeepers I thought we were, Hiccup says as we watch the boat slowly drift away.

-I... don't know... Hiccup says and sighs. I leave Erets arms and walk up to Hiccup. He looks at me with glazed eyes and I hug him. He hugs me back and I feel silent tears fall on my shoulder.

Mom come up to us and puts a hand on each of our shoulders. We pull away and mom starts tucking away hair that was stuck in the dried tears on our faces.

-You came too early to this world. You were such small wee things. So frail, so fragile. I feared you wouldn't make it, she says and stand between us as we watch the boat.

-But your father... he never doubted, she says and puts a hand on our shoulders, pushing us together.

-He said you would become the strongest of them all, she says and looks at us.

-And he was right, she brings her hand up onto our cheeks.

-You have the hearts of a chief, mom looks at me.

-And the souls of a dragon, she looks at Hiccup.

-Only you two can bring our worlds together. That is who you are,children, mom looks sternly at us. Hiccup pulls away from mom and walks around her, closer to the boat. I join him and hold his hand tightly.

-I uh. We were always afraid of becoming our dad, Hiccup explains.

-Mostly because we thought we never could, because, I mean, how do you become someone that great, that brave, that selfless, I say and Hiccup squeezes my hand gently.

-I guess we can only try... Hiccup says. Then he comes to a realization and he looks at me with a determined gaze.

-A chief protects his own, he turns to the others.

-We're going back... I smile and tears fall.

-Uh, with what? Tuffnut says.

-He took all the dragons, Ruffnut adds.

Me and Hiccup grin at each other slightly.

-Not all of them, I say.
