Y/N POV:
-I know that you're not really excited for this party, but at least try to look like you're having fun, I sigh as I sit by my vanity mirror and put on my over the top jewel earrings my dad got me for Christmas.
Nico comes out from the bathroom in his nice tuxedo, smelling like a fancy champagne. I smile and adore him as he brushes off a few areas on the front of his suit and quickly checks his hair.
-You know I don't fit into these fancy parties, he sighs.
-I know, but dad asked for you to come, and I don't want him to feel let down, I say and brush in some slight blush on my cheeks.
-Besides, I'm not gonna dance to those... slow, cheesy love songs your dad loves, Nico says, slightly irritated, making my heart sink a bit.
-You don't have to. I'm not asking you to dance, I'm asking you to show up to this party with me, I say and brush on some highlights on my cheeks, before I just stare at myself in the mirror. Nico sighs and finally looks towards me and stops fixing his suit. I look at him in his reflection and smile. He bends down slightly to come at my level. He stares into my eyes through the mirror.
-You're just as gorgeous as the night I first saw you... he says and I giggle and grab my perfume. I spray some on my neck and my arms. I'm wearing a knee length f/c dress and it looked almost exactly as the dress I wore the first night we met. I feel hand son my waist and Nico burrows his nose in the crook on my neck. He breathes in slowly and lets out a happy hum.
-You smell like freshly picked papaya, he says happily and kisses my neck. I giggle again and Nico puts his head on my shoulder.
-How did a crook like me end up with a lady like you? He asks.
Ok, so, let me explain the situation. I'm born into a very rich family, and of course, life used the sad trope of my mother dying when I was very young. Sad. But I always had my dad.
So, when I got older and more rebellious, I started going to these parties that were impossible to find if you didn't have the right contacts. But I did.
So one night, me and a group of friends go to one of these parties, that was basically a hole in the wall behind a fruit market. I had the time of my life, and bumped into a handsome, dark man. We danced the night away and he asked me out.
He told me that he danced for a living. He held cheap parties and danced. And dare I say that he was the bloody best dancer I've ever met. On the streets is he known as the kind of samba, nobody could move like him.

So we dated and he taught me samba and boy did we samba (if you know what I mean ;)
So then it became time for him to meet my dad. And as I mentioned, my dad is a very wealthy man and owned many stores and clubs around Rio. I was afraid my dad only saw Nico as a crook, but Nico charmed his way into my father's heart and now he gets invited to every party my dad throws...
But Nico isn't very fond of these parties....
I close the car door as we stand outside the building where the party is held.
-Nico, I've already told you; you're not a crook, I say and he grabs my hand.
-Compared to you, I am, he says and I roll my eyes playfully.
We get to the entrance and I tell the butler who we are. The butler loudly presents us as we walk inside.
-Ah, Nicolas, my boy! Dad greets Nico and pats him on the shoulder. Nico smiles and nods.
-And Y/N, my sweet little angel, dad says and he kisses my cheek.
-Olá papa, I say.
-You're just in time, just in time, he says and leads us through the building to the room with the DJ and dance floor.
-They're just about to play my favorite song! He laughs and leaves us in the back of the room as he happily walks towards the dance floor.
I look at Nico and smile apologetically at him. He smiles back.
-It's alright baby... he says and lightly kisses the top of my head.
The song ends and dad comes to us again.
A bartender walks past with a tray of champagne and dad grabs three glasses. He hands one to me and one to Nico.
-There you go, you looked very empty handed, dad jokes as he takes a small sip of the drink. Nico does the same and I just smile at my dad, not wanting him to think I was an alcoholic.
-Nico, there is some people I'd like you to meet! They're some big producers in the dance industry. You said you were a dancer, if I remember correctly. Dad then says quickly. Nico nods hesitantly.
-Is like you to meet them! Dad says.
Nico releases my hand and looks concerned down at me.
-Go. You might get your big breakthrough that you've been looking forward to, I smile. Nicos lips lightly press onto mine.
-Alright. I'll be back soon. Don't have too fun without me, Nico says as he slowly walks away. I roll my eyes playfully at him.
-Oh, how could I, I say sarcastically. Nico smirks at me, before following my dad through the crowd. My smile immediately falters and I sigh. I go find a place to sit down, so that I don't just stand awkwardly by the dance floor.
Nico POV:
Y/N's dad introduces me to some of the big names in samba, and they tell me that they'd love to have me and my friend Pedro audition for them. F/N couldn't stop petting me in the back as he bragged in and on about me. Oh my, if this is what I go through, I feel bad for Y/N anytime she talks to her fathers friends. Oh yeah, Y/N! Where is she?

I look around the place as the older men laugh and joke. I then spot a frowning Y/N sitting by a table alone, staring at her half-finished champagne. She had her face in her hands and I frown. She looked so bored and was not entertained by the dancing people in front of her.
-Excuse me gentlemen for a minute, but I have somewhere I need to be right now. I'll be back soon, I say quickly and the men look after me as I walk towards Y/N.
Y/N POV:
I stare at my champagne, but quickly a hand comes into my vision. I look up to the owner of the hand and see Nico's happy face.
-Care to dance? He asks.
-But, I thought you said you wouldn't slow dance dance to these songs? I ask.
-Well... I might've changed my mind... he smirks. I smile happily up at him and grabs his hand. He leads me onto the spacious dance floor and begins slowly swaying left and right.
-What made you change your mind? I ask curiously.
-You just looked so sad because you weren't dancing... and I know you love to dance, not just samba... he begins and we fly past a couple as they stumble around.
-And you like slow dancing... so I'll slow dance with you every day if it makes you happy. Because whatever makes you happy, makes me happy, Nico says and I smile like a goof.
-Really...? I ask in a small voice.
-Every day, he reassures. I pout slightly and lean up to give him a kiss, before the song stops and another one starts playing.
-Now go back to the big leagues before you loose their interest, I push him off. He grins playfully at me and walks back to the men on the other side of the room. As he disappears between the people,I bite my lip and look towards the DJ booth.
Later:
Nico stopped talking to the men and my dad let him go. He sighs heavily as he walks to me. I smile brightly as he gets closer with a relieved smile. I grab his hand and start pulling him towards the dance floor.
-Dance with me again? Please? I ask innocently. He laughs.
-Again? He asks. I nod.
-Yes, again, I confirm. Nico lets out a sarcastic, over exaggerated sigh, but smiles as we walk o to the dance floor and start slow dancing.
-I have a surprise for you, I say.
-A surprise? He asks and cocks one eyebrow. I nod and smile proudly.
-What kind of surprise? He smirks slyly and his hand travels lower than it should. I guide his hand back up onto my waist and he laughs.
-Not that kind of surprise, I say playfully irritated.
-No, I think it's a surprise that you... are gonna appreciate, I try to hint.
-Who says I wouldn't appreciate the other surprise he says. Before I can counter back, the song I requested starts playing. It was Nico's and I's first samba song together. People looks surprised around as the drum beat starts playing loudly through the speaker and Nico shakes his head and smiles.
-I should've known... my smart girl was up to something, Nico says and I only giggle, dragging him to the middle of the dance floor. People backed away and Nico and I were now in center.
We start dancing together and sometime during the dance, Nico throws off his tuxedo jacket, leaving him in his white dress shirt and tie. Nico then loosens his tie immensely and buttons up some of the top buttons, for added effect. My dad looks wildly around, before spotting us. But I was no longer concerned over his stare. No, I focused on the dance with Nico instead. The suddenly, some couples around us joined us on our samba. My dad loosens up as more of his guests join in and start dancing. I notice those men Nico talked to were standing and watching us, impressed.
Then as the slower part of the song comes, I lean in close to Nico.
-No pressure or anything, I start sarcastically.
-But those dance guys are watching you very closely, I say and Nico spins me out, and then back into his chest.
-Really? Is it good or bad? He asks nervously. We spin around again.
-Oh it's good... you might expect an increase in your daily income, I joke and Nico smiles proudly.
-Only thanks to you, princess, he flirts and kisses my neck, before continuing to dance.
After that night, my dad always made sure that he had some salsa and samba songs in the playlist to his parties. He loved to watch me and Nico dance, because we looked so in sync, he says. Of course he brags about it to his other rich friends. Nico and his friend Pedro signed a contract with one of the dance men, and now dance professionally for commercials and as a dance instructor some days in one of my dads clubs. And sometimes, Nico doesn't work, unless I joint him for a kick of "inspiration"... we could all guess what kind of inspiration he was looking for.
Some months later, he proposed and Pedro immediately started choreographing our wedding dance, which wasn't a big hit with Nico... until it happened... and of course he loved it...
-I liked it... but nearly as much as I love you...
He said.

Aytelia
A magical world embracing chaos as powerful entities and worlds fight for survival or power, observed by the "universals", a sentient species no one can fathom or reason with. As a lone girl wakes up in a large strange fountain, filled with other individuals in the same position such as herself, she lifts her drowsy head to find her surreal surroundings. The civilians walking around said fountain are all weird creatures that could only come out of a fantasy - orcs, elves, dwarfs, dragonewts, all wearing all different kinds of medieval armor, weaponry and artifacts. Galduta
What seperates beasts from men isn't the language we speak or any such drivel taught to us in school. It isn't the way we walk or our intelligence that sets us apart. Some would have you believe that it is our ability to think and reason that makes us fundamentally different from the creatures that inhabit the world. That way of thinking, my friends, is entirely wrong. What seperates us from them and them from each other, is simply the skin that we all wear
