《Random x Reader one-shots》Merida x female! Reader part 2

Y/N POV:
I wake up, finally feeling refreshed and ready for today. I dress myself and brush through my bed head, before heading to the dining hall. I know I'm going the right way when I hear my fathers loud laugh, mixed with the chattering of three small boys. I enter the hall and I immediately get a warm welcome by the king. I bow slightly, before approaching my father and giving him a kiss on his cheek.
-Good morning sunshine! How was your sleep? He asks.
-It was nice. I finally could fall asleep without the fear that I'd roll out of bed, I say and giggle, Fergus laughing loudly.
-Well, take a seat and eat lass! Fergus says and points to a chair next to Merida. She looks panicked at me, and I only smile at her. Mostly to calm my own nerves.
-Hi, I say to her under my breath as I sit down. My dad and Fergus immediately start talking again. She nods my way.
I look around for the bread, and I notice them standing on the other side of her.
-Um- pardon me? Could you be a darling and pass the bread? I say, copying a woman in one of my English books. If she said it, then I bet it was a normal thing to do here. Her cheeks and ears blossoms in a bright pink, but she hands the basket of bread to me none the less.
-Thank you, I say and place down the basket and take a bread.
-Ye'r welcome, she squeaks out.
I fix a sandwich before turning to her.
-I like your dress... it fits you, I compliment her. She's wearing a simple, dark green dress, that compliments her red locks and blue eyes.
-T-thank you princess... she stutters and voice cracks again, and I become concerned.

-Are you alright princess? I ask and try to look at her face. Elinor turns to us with a frown.
-Merida, is something wrong? Elinor asks.
Merida stands up quickly, grabbing the attention of our fathers as well.
-Yes! I mean- Uh, no, I-I have somewhere to be, she says, before grabbing a bow that was hanging on her chair and rushes out of the dinner hall.
-Merida! Merida come back here, right now! You're being rude! Elinor shouts after her, before the door closes. Elinor sighs and turns to me and dad.
-I'm sorry about that... She just has these outbursts at the most unprofessional of places, she excuses. I look confused after her. Was it something I said? Did I offend her in any way? Was my accent that revolting?
When our fathers continue their talk, I turn towards Elinor.
-Queen Elinor... was it something I said? I ask. Elinor shakes her head.
-No, you did nothing wrong dear... now eat ye'r breakfast, so you can be up and about, exploring the grounds later, hmmm? She says, before turning back to the three immature boys. I sigh, before eating my sandwich in silence and alone with my thoughts.
Merida's POV:
I storm outside towards the stalls and to Angus.
Why did she call me darling? I just... that was... so adorable. Why do I want her to call me that again?
And she looked so pretty in that dress, that just fell in all the right places... of god... I have to really stay away from her. She must've placed a spell on me with those e/c eyes! There is no other explanation!
A week later, Y/N POV;
Merida has been avoiding me all week, and I quickly got the hint that she did not want to be near me after that morning. I saw her training with her bow and arrows on the shooting range two days ago. But then she saw me and every shot after that, she missed. Just my presence made her frustrated as I could hear the ground shel when she stomped to her the fly away arrows.

I'm sitting at breakfast again and Merida left just seconds before I arrived. I'm thinking about reading, but frowning when I remember the 5 books I got to read and already finished.
-Queen Elinor? I ask, and she looks up from her letters at me.
-Do you possibly have a library? I'd like to have something other to read than the books I got with me, I say. She smiles.
-Of course! It's just down the hall, to the left from your bedroom, she says.
-Alright, thank you, your majesty, I say, before excusing myself from the table and heading to find that library.
When I finally do, I find a book about an artist that travels around the world and make People happy with his art. I completely drown into the story as I read about the grey scale people in a dull world.
Meridas POV:
I am feeling so weird. Every time Y/N steps close to me, my brain turns into applesauce and I'm afraid my words will get all jumbled and I'll say the completely wrong thing to her... and I've noticed that this wasn't much better. I'm being selfish and absolutely rude and her only entertainment for these next 2 months will be the stupid kids I call my brothers.
I notice her picking out a book in the library and sit down in one of the chairs.
I hide behind the wall and hug my bow.
-C'mon, it's just a girl. Ye'r a girl! What's the difference? I ask myself.
-... Well, except that she's a lady... oh, stop it! I'm gonna do this, I say and put my bow on my shoulder. I sigh and walk into the library. I walk towards her and sit down on the seat beside her. I quietly hang my bow on the chair and look at her. She looks so fascinated and into the story. I can't help but to look at her soft skin, and how her lips soundlessly reads the words on the page.
I quickly shake myself out of it, and clear my throat. She looks startled up at me.
-Hello? She says confused.
-Hi... I say and a awkward silence falls over us.
-What are ye reading? I then ask and look at the book.
-Oh! Um, Y/N says and closes the book and shows me the cover.
-Ah, that one! Which page are ye on? I ask, my nervousness slowly dripping away.
-I'm on page..... 37, she answers in a foreign accent.
-B-but that's the second chapter? I ask. She smiles and nods.
-Yeah, I... I like to read, she says and giggles.
-Well, read to me, I say.
-Wait, really? She asks.
-Yes! It's one of the few books I actually enjoy, so please, I say and get comfortable in my chair.
Y/N hesitantly opens up the book again and starts where she left off. Her accent gives into the story, and even though her accent was shaky, I couldn't help to love the book even more. I put my face in my hands and just disappear into the beautiful story... although the story teller was much more divine.
