Y/N POV
When we're 16, we all get a black mark where your soulmate touches you for the first time. Some people get the boring handshake. Some have a more exciting one, like, on their legs or neck or something. Me?
Oh, just a weird print in the neck to shoulder area and arms and hands going around me. Like a hug. It's really weird.
Anyways... I'm the chief of my island; Erebor (A/N: don't judge me, it was the first thing that came up, ok?). And I was the only heir to the throne after my father died in a horrible storm.
As young, I was trained to be a healer, since my soulmate would most likely be a man and I needed to know basic remedies. In my late teens, I wanted to get more advanced so I learned every single thing from our former healer. So not only am I chief, I am the village healer, in progress of teaches others. I didn't want to be left the only healer when flu season comes along.
About a year ago, we got new island neighbors. I know because the chief and his wife travelled here and introduced themselves and their island "new Berk". I told them that we will always be here if they needed any kind of help with anything.
And even though we've exchanged materials and other stuff, I've now received a massage, that was said to be urgent. The chief of new Berk, Hiccup, sent me a letter that said that he'll send two of his men with this message.
I of course accepted, to not let anyone down in our new alliance.
In our short history, we've never received something this serious.
-What's going on? I ask my people as they brought two men to me. One of the men had blonde hair that was nearly braided into a beard under his chin. The other man had black hair that was slicked back and it draped down into his neck. The blonde man steps forward with pleading eyes.

-Hello chief. My name is Tuffnut Thorston and this is my friend Snotlout Jorgensen, he introduces. The one with the black hair nods to me. I nod back.
-We week your help, because my sister has fallen very ill. She doesn't eat and barely sleeps. She hasn't gotten out of bed in 4 days and I'm starting to get really concerned about her. I received word from our chief Hiccup that you are also the healer of Erebor, he says and takes of his helmet and holds it to his chest. Snotlout does the same.
-We could really use your help, your majesty, Snotlout says. I look to my people, who are all standing around, whispering to each other.
-Well, seeing that this is a private matter, I say and lift my gaze from the two and to the mass.
-I ask you all to leave, I say firmly. Everyone leaves the house and the front porch to give us privacy. The last person out closes the door and I ask the two to sit at my table.
I pluck out my notebook and pencil to write down any symptoms.
-You said that she doesn't eat? I ask. Tuffnut nods.
-For how long hasn't she been eating? I ask.
-About 6 days, he answers. I write it down.
-Has she had any nausea? I ask.
-Yes, Tuffnut answers. I wrote it down.
-That's why she doesn't sleep, because she has a huge fear of vomit, he continues. I nod and write down what he said.
-Does she drink any water? I ask. He nods.
-Every day, he says.
-Any dizziness? I ask.
-Hmmm... yes, a little bit, when she tries standing up. But we've made her stay in bed now, he answers. I write down everything.
-have you had any stressful things occurring around her? I ask.

-Well, we're still building new houses everyday... she's been helping everyday, before getting sick, Tuffnut answers. I sigh and write it down. I read my notes over and over again.
-Well chief? Can she be cured? Snotlout asks. I nod and look up at them.
-I should be able to have the cure by tomorrow morning. I have a guest house that you may stay in until then, if you wish? I ask. Tuffnut quickly jumps in.
-Thank you. That would be amazing, he says. I nod and get them set up in the guest house and begin brewing the cure.
The next day:
I pour the brew in many small bottles and place them all in a wooden crate, to carry easier. I write down the prescription on a piece of paper and put it in between two bottles and walk down to the shore. Tuffnut and Snotlout stand on their boat and doing their last safety checks. Tuffnut notices me and hops off of the boat and onto the docks. I smile softly.
-These should help. She should take two every day for two weeks, one in the morning when she wakes up, and on before she goes to sleep at night. All the details are in the paper, I say and hand the box to Tuffnut. He smiles, eased.
-Thank you chief. Remind us to thank you later! He says. I smile.
-No problem, it was my pleasure. Make sure she eats something after the first bottle though, or else it'll become an unbalance in her stomach and she will throw up, I say. He nods.
-Thank you, I will, he says.
-Good. Now have a safe journey home and tell her to get better soon! I say as Tuffnut walks into the boat again.
-I will. Thank you, again, for your hospitality, he says.
-You're always welcome here, I say, as they set off for their short journey home.
I wave them goodbye as they leave.
Wonder how she is.... I think.

The Immortal Epic
After all that happened... I do think I would thank dr Errhart if I were back to the day this all started, knowing all that happened after. Of course, if I were back on the day this all started with the implied knowledge, I would take and play with his soul in retribution. Oh, how have I grown since then. I'm almost nostalgic. Almost. To tell you the truth, I don't really remember the first days. Yes, I remember me working at the facility, with all the downs and downs but after the experiment, those first days afterwards, I can't bring for the life of me those moments in the cold dark broken room to mind. I never did discover what happened during the experiment. What could occur to burn the whole facility to a crisp and shut down both the main and emergency power supply? Dr Errhart always seemed to fail in impossible ways. When I got out of that underground tomb, I discovered what the experiment did to the world. Beast and monsters feed on the unprotected if left to fester, powerful men from the remnants of my old world have risen up to take their own and might takes up new forms. Oh, and here you must be perplexed. I totally forgot to tell. While the experiment doomed many in the facility and the world above, which wouldn't have happened had they not ignored my notes on the project, I feel like it was all worth it. For at the cost of the precious but secret arcanium, we got our greatest tool yet. Magic.
