Y/N POV
I'm sitting at a family friends quinces. She had been like a little sister to me and I'm sitting by the dance floor, watching the people dance.
-Hi Y/N! I'm so happy you came! My friend says and hugs me.
-Of course I came! I say and hug back.
-So....? She says and lets me go and sits down next to me.
-So? I ask her.
-Seen anyone interesting yet? She asks and nudges me in my side. I scoff.
-You wish! I say.
-I really do, she says and wiggles her eyebrows at me. I shake my head.
-Yeah yeah... I just feel like somethings bound to happen tonight! She says and stands up.
-Maybe because it's your quinces? I ask and smile at her.
-Maybe... She smiles and walks towards some other people. I look at the people she talks to and it looks like a family. One mom, one abuelita, one girl and... a cute guy. He looks towards me and smiles. I feel my cheeks turn red and I wave sheepishly at him before looking to the dance floor once more.
-Wanna dance? I hear a voice ask and a hand makes its way into my view. I look up the arm that held out the hand and there he stood. The cute guy.
-Excuse me? I ask in confusion. He smiles amused.
-Do you wanna dance? He asks. I smile and take his hand.
-Sure, I say as I stand up. He leads me to the dance floor and begins dancing salsa with me.
-You're really good at dancing, I compliment him as he twirls me.
-Thank you, he says and puts a hand on my waist, walking around me.
-You're not bad yourself, he says and I smile.
We dance until they change songs to a calmer one. Before I can walk off the dance floor, he quickly pulls me close by my waist with one hand, and my hand in the other.

-I wasn't done with you yet, he says, making me giggle and shake my head. I place my free hand on his shoulder as we slowly sway back and forth.
-Of course you weren't, I giggle.
-I'm Alex. Alex Alvarez, he introduces and squeezes my palm softly.
-I'm Y/N. Y/N L/N, I introduce and squeeze his hand.
-Y-you're not like, some kind of cousin, are you? He asks, his facial expression becoming panicked. I laugh.
-No. I'm the birthday girls' best friend, I say.
-You're Just 15? He asks, making me laugh again.
-No! I'm 17, I explain. He huffs our a breath.
-Wow... yeah me, too, he says as we continue to sway on the floor.
-So... why dance with me? I ask.
-Huh? He asked like he didn't hear what I just said. I shake my head.
-It was f/n that asked you to dance with me, wasn't it? I ask in disbelief.
-Well... yes... but it was also my abuelita and mostly my gut feeling, he smirks at me.
-Your gut feeling? I ask.
-Yeah. My gut told me I would've came here for nothing if I didn't have at least one dance with you, he says. The music stops. I smile slyly at him and pull away from him. He looks confused at me.
-You got one dance... in fact, you got two, I say and hold up the number two with my fingers. He opens his mouth as to say something.
-If you want another one, you know where to find me, I say, walking by the snack table and grabbing a cookie, before walking behind the big crowd of Latinos.
That night had ended by my friend giving Alex my phone number and him texting me as soon as I got home. He quickly let me know that he wanted to go out on a date with me, and told me to meet him in the cinema at 5 on Saturday.

So here I am, standing in the middle of all the snacks and texting him.
"Where are you?" I ask. I look around one more tune to just check that my eyes weren't screwing me over. Suddenly my phone buzzes in my hand. It was Alex. He replied.
"Buy some snacks, you'll see me soon" he says.
Oh great... He was one of those guys. I roll my eyes and grab a bag of candy and a box of popcorn. I walk towards one of the open desks to pay for the snacks and buy drinks. I stand in queue, and once I get to the front, I'm met with a familiar face.
-I told you you would see me soon, he laughs as I shocked put the snacks on the counter.
-But-wha-you work here? I ask. He nods and scans the stuff.
-What does the pretty lady wants to drink? Me, personally, would choose the Vanilla Coke, he smirks and adds it to the list on the screen.
-But, what about the movie? I ask.
-My shift ends ten minutes before the movie starts. Now; drink? He says and smirks at me. I shake my head at his antics.
- f/d, please, I say and he smiles, adding the drink to the list and pouring it up in two big mugs. He hands them to me over the desk as I grab it.
-Thank you, mr Alvarez, I say and smirk.
-Hey, Ethan, take my desk will you? I'm done! He says and walks out from behind the desk and stands next to me.
-After you, he mentions and holds out his arm. I grab it and smile. We walk together to the salon and sit down in the middle of the whole room.
-You excited? He asks.
-You bet, I say as people start rolling in for the commercial.
Alex decided to drive me home after the movie.
-Thank you for the ride, I smile.
-Gladly, he says. I hesitate before I engulf him in a hug. He freezes for a couple of seconds before he hugs back. I smile at him as we let go.
-This counts as another date, right? He asks with a smirk playing at his lips.
-Oh, for sure, I confirm and smirk back.
-But next time, at my job, I say and walk out of the car.
-Absolutely. Meet you there? He asks and lean towards the window.
-Next Thursday, 3 o'clock sharp, I say and walk away from the car. I can hear him chuckle amused as he starts the car and drives away.
I can't believe I fell for my friends cousin....
Dear god, that sounds horrible.....
But is it?
