Y/N POV
I had been working the first half of my summer and my parents had signed me off work for the other half... Because they think I need to work less and have more fun... And I couldn't agree more!
It's a warm day and I've taken my bike to the new star court mall to visit my friend Robin at her summer job. I'm walking inside, and walking past my job, waving to my former coworkers. I get into a small ice cream shop and look at everyone enjoying their ice cream. I walk up to the register and look around. Suddenly, a boy walks out from the room in the back and looks at me, then smiles sneakily... It was Steve Harrington from school...he was cute...
-O'hoy matey! What can I scoop up for you today? He says and leans with one arm in the desk. He was a bit taller than me...
-I'm looking for Robin... is she here? I ask. His eyes roll and he sighs.
-No, not right now... she's doing something somewhere else... he says and looks away for a second, frowning, before looking back and smirking at me.
-could I maybe... but you an ice cream? It's on me, he says slyly and wiggles his eyebrows. I giggle.
-You're funny... I say smile at him.
-Only for your entertainment, he says and winks at me. I smirk and furrow my brows.
Suddenly Robin comes from the room in the back.
-Y/N! I'm sorry I made you wait with this idiot, I'll scoop you an ice cream and we'll talk, she says leading me away from the desk. I can see from the corner of my eye that Robin glares at Steve.
Robin scooped up some of my favorite ice cream that we're splitting.
-So, how was work? She asks.
-Well... It was ok... could've been better with a cutie like him though, I say and point to Steve that's lazily leaning on the desk. Robin scoffs.
-Right... you had a thing for him last year, Robin groans and I punch her arm.
-You're mean... I giggle. Honestly, he was cute, and I still have feelings for him, but maybe not as strong as before.
-C'mon... tell me the dark secrets of Burger King, so I can find a way to blackmail them for customers, Robin jokes. I playfully glare at her and she laughs at me.
-Now... tell me how your job has been, I ask her. She groans.
-Well, I've been stuck with this idiot for the whole summer... She says and points to him.

-So nothing really special... she says. I roll my eyes at her.
-C'mon, cut him some slack... he's never had to work a day in his life until now... leave him be, I say and shrug.
We enjoy the rest of the ice cream and I leave.
The next week was spent in the ice cream shop, every morning arriving early to talk to Steve, then Robin comes and 'saves' me, as she calls it herself.
But one day I arrive and there stands another chic, blowing bubbles with her gum. I walk up to the counter.
-Uhm, excuse me? Where's Robin and Steve? Steve Harrington? I ask. She looks rudely at me.
-I don't know, they didn't show up for work, she says and I frown, still standing by the counter. She sighs at me.
-Are you gonna buy an ice cream or not? Cause if not, move out of the way, it's lining up, she says rudely. I shoot her a glare before moving out of the way and walk out of the ice cream shop. I look around, seeing if they're anywhere else, but I can't see them. I lean against a wall and run my hand through my hair.
And I still went there the day after, to see if they were there, but I didn't see them today either. I sigh and walk away.
Tonight I was going to watch a movie with my friend, "back to the future". I heard that it was really good and I'm really excited. For the special occasion, I'm going to buy a new scrunchie to match a dress my mom got me.
I'm dressing up and my mom is giving me a ride to the star court mall and my friend is waving me over.
-Ok, bye mom! Don't forget to pick me up! I say as I exit the car.
-I won't honey! Have fun! Mom says before I close the car door and run into the cinema.
I look around before spotting my friend.
-C'mon Y/N! I want popcorn before the movie starts, hurry! F/n says and stands in line.
-Hey, buy me a soda while you're still in queue! I say.
-Yeah yeah! They say and get to the counter. The walk away from the counter with two big sodas and a big popcorn.
-Let's not miss the movie! They say and we quickly walk into the theatre and sit on the edge of the middle row.
The movie starts and we have a good time, watching the movie and eating popcorn. And suddenly I hear giggling and shuffling in the back. I turn around and see two figures by the entrance.

I hear one laughing uncontrollably and the other one giggling slightly but still hushing the other person. The walk past me and... Steve and Robin? They walk to the front row and giggle at the movie.
-Excuse me f/n, can I just...? I say and stand up, walking down the stairs to the front row. And there they are, Robin and Steve, hushing each other and giggling at the movie.
-Robin? Steve? I ask quietly. Robin notices me first.
-H-hey Y/N! Look Steve, it's Y/N! You know, the girl you're hopelessly in love with! Robin says loudly.
Steve looks over at me before looking back at Robin.
-Hush! She might hear you! He says loudly, before Robin busts out in a fit of giggles.
-Alright, lets get you two out of here, I say and they stand up and walk, almost like they were uncontrollably drunk.
-Robin! Steve! I hear a younger voice yell throughout the theatre.
-SSSHHHHH! Everyone says. I continue to push them out at the other end of the theatre.
We get outside into the shop and they look around loopily. Suddenly Robin looks like she's gonna throw up. She runs towards the women's bathroom. And then I see Steve doing the same thing. He runs after Robin... Into the women's bathroom. I sigh loudly and walk after them. I open the door and the smell of vomit hits me.
-Oh my god guys! What have you eaten!? I ask in disgust. I walk into each of their stalls and flush the toilets. The lean against the stall walls.
-You wouldn't believe us if we told you, Robin grunts. I scoff.
-Really? Try me, I say and sit down by her stall. She looks at me.
-We got some kind of truth serum by some sketchy Russians and we told each other everything about everyone and then we threw up, she says.
-Ok, I admit, that is pretty hard to believe... I say.
-Told you so... Robin grins at me. I frown at her.
Steve looks over to me and looks at me up and down.
-Hey... that's a new scrunchy, he exclaims. My hand immediately goes up to my head and my scrunchy.
-Oh... yeah, I say and smile a bit. He smiles back at me.
-It looks good on you, he then calmly says. I feel my face heat up and butterflies roam around my stomach.
-Thank you, I say. Robin lets out a loud "Ugh!".
-Would you just tell her? Robin sounds very irritated.
-Tell me what? I ask her in concern.
-Nothing! It's nothing, Steve quickly says and laughs awkwardly and Robin looks angrily at him.
-Just tell her you like her, dumbass! Robin says loudly. I can't help but laugh in discomfort.
-What? I ask and look hopefully at Steve.
-Hahaha... Steve says awkwardly and looks at me.
-What're you talking about Robin? I like you, not-not Y/N, that would be insane! We've only talked a few times, Steve says and try to look at her. Robin scoffs.
-Yeah right. We're not a thing, Robin says and glares at him through the stall wall.
-Yes we are! Steve says hurriedly.
-We could never be a thing, Robin continues to reason with him. I know what she's about to do, and I really don't know if I'm proud or scared.
-And why can't we be a couple? Steve asks.
-Because I like girls, Robin says. Steve looks at me in shock.
-... What? Steve says and looks back towards Robin.
-I'm gay... Robin says. Steve crawls between me and the wall that separated their stalls and sits in Robins stall.
-Why didn't you tell me before? He asks.
-Because we weren't friends before... Robin says shamefully. Steve looks at me. I can only smile sadly at him.
-So... You two are a thing..? Steve asks sadly.
-What? No! Me and Robin say quickly, at the same time.
-She's my best friend... And totally not my type, Robin teases and I giggle.
-I'm everyone's type, I tease back and Steve lets out a relieved sigh. I look at him, and he looks at me. I can see Robin smirk at me from the corner of my eye.
-See, I told y- Robin starts as the door behind me gets thrown open and a kid, maybe 13-14 years old comes in, and he looks pissed.
-There you are! I've been looking everywhere for you! He says angrily.
-C'mon, it escaped, we need to find it! He says and Robin and Steve stand up. I stand up after it.
-Excuse me, what exactly escaped, and from where? I ask, feeling very unsafe in my current position.
-Oh, uh, Nothing! The kid says and pushes Robin and Steve out from the bathroom.
-See you later Steve's girlfriend! He says before walking away and closing the door. I'm just about to walk after them, but I stop in my tracks.
-Steve's.... what? I say to myself.

Hellfire Across the Heavens
Three centuries of FTL space travel has spread the people of Terra far across the stars and for nearly half a millennia people have asked the question, "are we alone in the universe?" The answer to that question is a resounding no. To one side, humanity is boxed in by an ancient empire whose light has burned up long ago. To the other, is a federation of alien races known as the Senate. Mankind rejoiced the knowledge that they were not the only life in a cold dark galaxy. But as first contact was made, ET's who transited into the Warp seemed to disappear without a trace, technologies traded with the other races malfunctioned or refused to work entirely, and simple translation errors led to grave misunderstandings. Before long, humanity was outcasted by the Senate and relationships soured, but even still the sons and daughters of Terra worked hard to earn the respect and trust of the Xeno's.

YAOS 1 - Limitless Adventures - Yet Another OP Story Book 1
December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and at Amazon. December 30th 2018: V1.1.2 of YAOS Book 1 is out, some content additions, fixed typos. Amazon's enhanced typesetting now displays tables properly. YAOS is shown through the eyes of some genius athlete getting OP inside a VR, ah wait, Full Immersion game, ?F.I.O?. Not a Hero, not a Nerd, just a driven individual paying for mistakes made, biding time until he can return to the Real World. He isn't defined like you'd normally do it, you can pick his looks and name all on your own, just like you do in video games. Believe it or not, keeping his looks undefined is harder than you think. His backstory isn't expounded in detail, but it drives his choices. Book 1 isn't about depressing sob stories but about fun and rushing forward, pursuing new horizons. Oh, and you'll end on a cliffhanger! Well, most serials do, so you will probably expect that without being told explicitly. But it isn't that bad, there's a lot of reveals and more to come once this book, that is the first in a planned three-part series, is finally ready for release on amazon et al. The published version will have: 1.) Godawful speaker tags, I hate them, they make you stop thinking and speed up editing so much. In hindsight they should have been in to begin with. But I stand by my goals proclaimed earlier. You guys should think while reading, that is the whole point of the exercise. Apply the knowledge and ideas, improve yourself, get creative! 2.) Pretty colored tables, the damned blue boxes, a lot of work, 69 in one book. Finally fixed amazon's centering issue. Can't say I liked the hours needed to debug that. 3.) The promised Mitara chapters. 4.) A cover! 5.) And lastly, updated polished versions of several chapters. MC shares more of his past, some terrible chapters (esp. 32) finally work. Some new scenes, minor rewrites in parts. Text flow and other issues. The current challenge is to maintain essential ambiguity while satisfying people wanting to know more without thinking three steps ahead. Balancing one with the other is tough. The smut which was in remains, but the story told is not to be superseded by it. A 15+ rating for the first book is also important, not to mention, YAOS wasn't meant to contain any smut to begin with. If the Author can turn to writing full time his output should increase, so please support YAOS #1 once it does finally release. ~Thank You~ No maps so far, that should be in, but is really hard to get done right. Again, tips are appreciated. Update September 2017: Stubbed chapters, sorry guys, currently don't have time to upload them elsewhere, polishing book 1 and 2, writing 3, takes precedence. Book 1 is in heavy editing, too much to keep synced and continuing editing. I'd need a site which offers JS-free rapid managing of chapters and comments. Coding one myself or setting a premade up is out of scope until I'm done with the books. RRL-old offered that, nuff said. This is only here because the author believes in fairies, nobody reads this, most likely. October to December 2017: Life threw some curveballs. February 2018: Book 2 draft 1 completed, at ~150K words. Book 2 is fairly epic in scope, requires 1 rewritten chapter, some editing. Tables and miscellanea are in, but needs at least a grammar pass. March 2018: Book 3 at 28k words, first arc, rest needs serious planning for spin-off and satisfying conclusion. July 2018: Yet another proofing/editing session of books 1-3, 101+ chapters, ~300k words. B3 at 48k, starts out great, but no ETA, no wordcount limit, in flux. But prioritizing my writing cannot be done, I hate the delays as much as you, but you will prefer the whole released in a timely fashion rather than wait. Knowing myself how excruciating waiting can be, at least you'll get significantly polished versions and an ETA on book 2 by release of book 1. December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and in the process at Amazon et. al.. . To all who wait patiently, offered feedback, thanks again!
