《The Bookstore》Chapter 23

Izuku thanked the Uber driver and paid him for the ride, afterwards he took the heavy box of hero merch out of the back seat.
Slightly stumbling, Izuku finally got the strength to balance out the weight of the box in his arms.
How the hell did his mom make it look so easy to carry the box?
On the way back from his mothers place he was scrolling through his news feed when he came across an article about Charge Bolt and Red Riot dating.
Which Was great, the two fuckers finally got together, it was about time.
He was so happy for them as he read through the article where it explains that they announced to everyone that they were dating.
Izuku was still kind of upset that Kirishima didn't say anything about it to him but let it go.
Kirishima probably had other things to take care about.
Those thoughts were soon replaced by happiness of all those rumors going around of Izuku and Kirishima, which was great.
Now he won't be having to worry about psycho Red Riot fans sending him death threats or any other things like that through instagram anymore.
Holding his knee out, Izuku balanced the box on it so he could have a free hand to dig through the pockets of his shorts for the keys to the dorm.
As he opened the door he could hear familiar voices echoing through the kitchen.
"Hey guys, I'm back-" Izuku started but quickly came to a stop.
Standing there in the middle of the kitchen was Katsuki, Kirishima, and Akio standing around each other with drinks in their hands.
Oh fuck, of course, why the hell was he so dumb?
Of course Kirishima's going to invite Katsuki fucking Bakugou over.
Why didn't he think this through when he asked him if he could bring a friend.
The little shit probably didn't specify the person on purpose.
Kirishima looked over at Izuku with a sly smile, he was up to something.
Izuku pursed his lips and moved over to the counter to put the box down.
He nawed on his lips as the two other guy's attention focused on him and the box.

"Uhhh, hi..." Izuku said waving at Katsuki who just stared at him with a blank face. "So Kirishima, and er Katsuki, you all are probably wondering why I bothered you to come here."
Kirishima nodded while Katsuki's eyes were focused on the box in front of them.
"Sooo what's in the box?" Kirishima asked after a few moments of silence, Akio on the side sipping on a coke from the fridge.
"Oh..." Izuku was starting to regret his decision.
Izuku's face grew red as he realized how dumb this was, he couldn't just say that he invited them here because he wanted to show him his old hero merchandise and how it was also a small excuse to hang out with him.
"Izuku?" Kirishima asks, leaning on the table, holding his head up with one of his arms.
"Yeah, uh..." The fact that Katsuki was here was totally fucking with his head.
"Does it involve the box?" Katsuki asked, nodding his head towards it.
"Yeah," Izuku says quickly as he scrambled over to the drawers to grab a box cutter.
Fumbling with it he finally managed to get the blade out.
Izuku had absolutely no concentration as the three other men watched him try to get the box open, his mind only focusing on the blond.
"Ow!" He cried as he accidentally cut his hand with the sharp blade.
His hand immediately shot up and into his mouth.
"Hey! Are you ok?" Katsuki cried as he hurried over to the bleeding man, Akio and Kirishima running over behind him with worried expressions plastered on their faces.
Izuku took his hand out of his mouth to examine the condition, "Yeah I'm fine, the cut's not that deep."
"I'm gonna need a band aid tho," Izuku says hurrying into the other room.
Kirishima and Akio watched as Katsuki followed closely behind him and into the other room.
The door closed behind, startling Izuku who slightly flinced.
He wasn't expecting anyone to follow him into the room just to get a bandaid.
"Hey uh-" Izuku says whirling around only to come face to face with the guy he's been avoiding.

"We need to talk..." Katsuki says, blush covering his cheeks all the way to his ears.

"You think they're gonna fuck in there," Akio asks with a smirk on his face.
Kirishima turned around to give him a smirk back, "So you want them to get together too?"
"Well fuck yeah, it's so fucking obvious that they like each other but Izuku's too oblivious even after the millions of times I've told to his face that Bakugou has a crush on him." Akio says before sighing, "It was obvious that the only reason we're here is for the box so might as well open it without him."
"Yeah maybe there's earplugs inside so we don't have to listen to the bangs against the wall," Kirishima says with a sly smile.
Akio bursts out laughing, "Yeah, we should definitely check for that."
~~~~~~~~~~
"Umm, what's there to talk about?" Izuku tries his best to not make eye contact with Katsuki, turning around.
"It's so obvious that you've been avoiding me," Katsuki accuses.
Izuku just walked over to his bed and opened the drawer to search for a band aid.
When he finally found one he walked back to Katsuki, "What do you mean 'avoiding me?'" He asked.
Katsuki's eyebrows furrowed as he glared over at Izuku.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about," Katsuki knew him playing dumb was going to do absolutly nothing.
Izuku sighs.
"I watched you as you ran out of that bookstore as if you weren't just going to get ready to put on that pretty apron of yours to put away books," Katsuki sneered, "I found out later that you 'felt like you were sick.'"
Izuku didn't like the mocking tone he used when he said those last few words.
Izuku frowned, "Well I guess I felt sick at the time..."
It wasn't a good excuse but that's all he could make up at the moment.
"Really? Oh yeah instead of staying in bed and getting rest like a normal person who's 'sick' but you're here inviting Kirishima over to hang out with you instead," Katsuki grumbled in the last part but Izuku still heard.
He studied as the blond crossed his arms, looking around the room trying not to make eye contact with him.
"Sounds to me like you're jealous," Izuku said.
That caught Katsuki's attention quickly as he looked up at him, his face turning redder and redder by the second.
"N-no I'm not jealous," Katsuki stutters as he takes a step behind him, his eyes blown wide open.
Izuku just hmmed and tapped his foot, "Really because it kind of seems like you are."
"Ok maybe I am," He spats uncrossing his arms, biting on his lower lip, "Well it's not my fault that you spend all this time with Kirishima and whatever-his-name in the living room. Oh wait, Akio was his name. Akio."
Izuku's face softened as he realized how Katsuki really felt.
"You just love hanging out with them and you've never specifically asked to hang out with me... It really hurt when you ran away from me earlier," Katsuki sighed as he ran his fingers through his golden locks.
"Well maybe it's because I have a lot of things going on through my head, you being most of the things," Izuku grumbled, fidgeting his fingers.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean the reason I've been avoiding you and that I don't specifically want to hang out with you is because I'm extremely embarrassed about what happened at the party because it made me realize that I like you," Izuku says, squeezing his eyes shut. "I didn't know how to face you and avoiding you was the only way that I could think of as a way to figure my feelings through."
"Wait so does that mean you like me back?"
Cheers echoed in Katuski's head hoping he says yes.
I think there's probably going to be 2 or 3 chapters left of this fic.
A story about unlikely friendship, being old, unexpected beauty, and the obsession of kicking a round leather ball in the best way possible. A story about a new world, and its possibilities. A story about the grass, and let us hope, a small bit of glory? Author note: This is a project of mine I started in 2016 and recently been writing for again. Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!
