5- The concert

The concert.

The last little step before Jimin and Jungkook could reveal their relationship.

It was sort of like a throwback concert. They would perform all of their greatest hits and title tracks from each era in one big package. Sadly, it would only be performed once, in Seoul, but it would be broadcasted all over the world for free as a sorry from BTS for not being able to tour. It was a way for newer ARMY's to get a chance to see their favourite older songs being performed live.

Normally, Serendipity wouldn't be performed, as it was a solo and not one of their most popular songs, but Jimin had put in a special request for it to be performed last, just before "Young Forever".

Serendipity was to this day Jimin's personal favourite song. It was the Jikook anthem that wasn't even known for being the Jikook anthem. A classic example of Jimin desperately trying to secretly reference his love for Jungkook way before they were allowed to reveal their relationship.

Anyway, the concert was going to be that day. And Jimin was very excited. As was Jungkook.

After it, they would finally be able to reveal their relationship. It was the final stretch.

They had been preparing for it like crazy, wanting their performance to be absolute perfection. They practiced together all day and late into the night. They had to be just right.

And today, they were ready. Ready to be just right.

All the members were backstage, stretching their arms and running through choreography in their head as they got their hair and makeup done. Jimin was outgaying his usual self in a rainbow, slightly cropped t-shirt, with a touch of rainbow eyeshadow. Jungkook was matching in a rainbow jacket of the same material. Both of their eyes had tiny dots of glitter under them.

The other members were similarly glammed out, minus the rainbows- Jimin couldn't help but think their stylists were trying to drop hints along with them.

The atmosphere before a concert was always good, but something about that day in particular felt.. extraordinary. Maybe it was the nostalgic feeling of performing all of their old songs, maybe it was the knowledge that Jimin and Jungkook were quite literally outing themselves after this (if their outfits weren't already doing that).

Either way, the atmosphere was effecting everyone. Jin was cracking more dad jokes than usual, and even Yoongi was laughing at them. Hoseok, who was always as bright as the sun either way, couldn't stop hugging everyone. Tae was goofing off more than he ever had, breaking out in dance every 3 seconds.

Jimin and Jungkook were just silently staring lovingly at each other, and the others didn't have the heart to snap them out of it. And Namjoon was smiling fondly at all of them like a proud father.

The scene would make anyone's heart soar. The makeup noonas couldn't keep the smiles off their faces. Neither could manager Sejin and Bang PD, who were sitting in the corner of the room, just taking it all in with similar expressions to Namjoon.

"I'm proud of these boys." Sejin smiled affectionately.

"They've come a long way." replied Bang PD.

He thought back to the debut days. Everything was so hard back then. There was a time when there was so little belief that the members didn't even believe in themselves. But he believed, and pushed them to keep going, just for a few more years.

And look what happened.

"Look and Jimin and Jungkook." one of the makeup noonas whispered, gesturing at the two.

Smiles immediately took over the two manager's faces.

The two were lost in their own world, staring longingly into each other's eyes. If you looked closely, you could see that they were holding hands. And if you looked even closer, you could see the tiny movements Jungkook's thumb was making as it caressed Jimin's tiny fingers.

If you zoomed in on the very finger he was stroking, you would see the thin, golden promise ring that adorned it. And if you took off that ring and zoomed in on that, then you would see the tiny letters that were engraved on it.

"You are me, I am you."

"They're perfect for each other. They'll last a very long time." Sejin replied, looking at them fondly. "I'm excited for them."

The other staff members nodded in agreement. Jungkook and Jimin stayed oblivious to the world.

Cheers, whoops, shrieks, and whistles filled the stadium yet again as BTS ran out onstage for what seemed like the hundredth time that night, waving their arms around and hyping up the crowd.

They had just gotten back from an intermission after performing Boy in Luv, No More Dream, WAB: Part 2, Danger, NO, and War of Hormone.

"The next song we'll be performing tonight is... RUN!!" Taehyung shouted at the top of his lungs. The crowd screamed and the stadium was filled with thousands of voices in every pitch.

The boys got into position for choreography, and Namjoon kicked off the song. They performed flawlessly, as always.

When the song finished, they began going through all of their most iconic songs, era by era. They had one final intermission before they got back up and finished with a few songs from Love Yourself era.

Finally, it was time for Serendipity. The second last performance.

Jimin had changed during the intermission. He now had soft, pink eyeshadow with one small pearl beneath each eye, and he was wearing a lacy, pastel pink blouse with white skinny jeans. He had pearl studs in to match his eyes.

To cut to the chase, he looked like an angel. The angel of Jungkook's dreams.

Jungkook was currently sitting backstage, watching on a TV that was livestreaming the performance

The music began to swirl, and the stage-lights brightened, revealing Jimin, who looked even more ethereal surrounded by the twinkling army bombs inside his little bubble. The shout of the crowds soared up around him, but Jimin couldn't hear any of it. He was just focused of performing perfectly. Not for them, but for his boyfriend.

The song was written for him, after all.

Just like all the performances before, Jimin reached forward and popped the bubble, strutting out onstage like he owned the place (and he probably did). He began dancing like he would never get the chance to again, and singing with all of his heart. His voice was soft and angelic, yet powerful. Not once voice crack occurred, every single note was on point.

Jimin's movements were fluid, yet precise. Liquid, yet sharp. He focused one making himself feel aerodynamic, putting everything he had into each movement, each kick, each body roll. He reminded himself that it was for Jungkook, and it pushed him forward, pushed him into a performing headspace.

He could almost hear Jungkook shouting for him. See him staring at him in awe, bunny smile on his face. Smell his perfume.

It was then that he made a split second decision. This time, he would change it up a bit.

He continued putting his heart and soul into every note, waiting for the right moment. Thousands of people had their phones out, and the performance was being broadcasted live across the world. So this moment wouldn't be missed or lost.

Finally, he reached the last line of the song.

"Just let me lo-ove you~"

The music cut off, but Jimin didn't stop singing. Instead, he began to sing the chorus acapella.

"The universe had moved for us, without missing a single thing. Our happiness was meant to be. Cause you love me, and-" Jimin stopped and hesitated. The stadium went dead silent. He cleared his throat.

"and.. I- I LOVE YOU JK!!" he screamed, loud enough that people could probably hear it from outside the stadium.

In that moment, millions of jaws dropped in unison. The crowd was shocked silent, and Jimin stood there onstage, blushing beet red and smiling at the ground.

Suddenly, there was a rustle from backstage.

Footsteps began echoing across the stage. The crowd seemed to know that something important was about to happen, so they stayed silent, jaws still gaping and eyes still wide open.

the footsteps grew louder, and then Jungkook's head ducked out from backstage. The camera zoomed in on his head peeking out, a huge smile on his lips, and played it on the big screen. It cut back to Jimin, who was still blushing uncontrollably, even through all the powder on his face.

"You did it?" Jungkook shouted so that the crowds could hear him. He flicked on the mic that was still attached to his shirt and repeated himself as he walked out onstage to join Jimin, who was still looking at the ground.

"Baby. You did it?"

The stadium filled with quiet gasps and Jungkook smirked. The power he held...

Jimin nodded and walked over to him, unable to look up.

Jungkook met him in the middle of the stage and reached a hand out to cup his face. He lifted his chin up so that Jimin met his eyes

"You just declared your love for me onstage and now you're acting shy?"

Someone in the crowd let out a long wolf whistle, but everyone kept quiet, waiting for the tea to be spilled.

Jungkook laughed. "So, do you guys remember that tweet?"

That was when everyone gave up trying to be quiet. Howls, whistles and shrieks pierced Jungkook's ears, but it was the best sound he'd ever heard. He leant forward and whispered in Jimin's ear, pulling his mic down so that it wouldn't pick up his voice. He leant back up after Jimin nodded.

"Shit. Ok. Everyone shut up now."

the crowds silenced and quietly freaked out at the fact that Jungkook had so bluntly sworn.

"Ok.. so, um.. Yeah, Jimin and me.. are.. Shit this is hard. Where's Yoongi's blunt remarks when you need them."

Suddenly, a small voice that sounded suspiciously like a certain rapper screamed out from backstage.

"STOP TRYING TO TELL THEM. JUST SHOW THEM!"

Jungkook groaned. "Ok then, Oh Smart One."

He looked at Jimin, raising his eyebrows in question and Jimin nodded.

He took one step forward, and unlike every other time he had done it onstage, Jimin didn't lean away. Instead, he leaned in until they were chest to chest.

Jimin leaned his head forward, so that their foreheads were touching.

"fucking show them then" he whispered.

He didn't mean for the mic to pick that bit up, but it did.

He guessed it was a new era for BTS. One filled with swearing as well as unadulterated gayness.

Jungkook took that as a queue, and he smashed their lips together. Right there onstage.

All 18 million people who were watching the scene either on the broadcast or in real life erupted into screams. Of shock, of happiness, of fear for the two.

The crowd went haywire, sounding like the equivalent of a keyboard smash. Jungkook's ears felt like they were being blown up from the inside out. It would've been painful if he wasn't so caught up in kissing Jimin.

Jungkook wrapped an arm around Jimin's waist and pulled him flat against him, reaching the other arm up to tangle in his hair. The kiss was soft and sweet, yet passionate, and this time millions of people were there to see it. The sound of thousands of cameras going off only egged Jungkook on as he tugged on Jimin's already plump lips with his teeth. Jimin's mouth opened and he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss.

He only pulled away when he started feeling a moan bubbling at the back of his throat.

Any other time it would've been great, but a live porn show would probably be a bit extreme when there were 14 year old's in the crowd.

(those 14 year old's were screaming loudest of all)

Jungkook and Jimin panted, staring at each other in adoration as the crowd continued howling and screaming.

Jimin stepped back forward and wrapped his arms around Jungkook's shoulders. He had to go on his tippy toes since Jungkook was nearly a head taller than him now. He buried he face in his chest, snuggling up into his warmth.

Suddenly, Taehyung came running out from backstage, screaming and hollering.

"JIKOOK IS REAL AND I KNEW BEFORE ALL OF YOU"

Hoseok ran out from the other side, waving his arms around and screaming just as loudly.

"SHIP IT OR FACE MY WRATH. TAEKOOK IS TO BE DELETED FROM SOCIETY."

Jimin and Jungkook burst out laughing as the crowd screamed even louder.

Jin, Namjoon, and Yoongi walked out as well, much more composed than the other two.

"Jimin, this definitely wasn't a part of the plan." Namjoon laughed, smiling fondly at the couple.

"Y'all are stupid as hell" Yoongi said, gesturing at the crowd. "You should've seen the hints they were dropping. Your oblivious asses just couldn't get it."

Jin walked over, clapping Jungkook and Jimin on the back. "I'm proud of you, kids."

The others nodded, saying a chorus of "Same's"

All of them joined Jungkook and Jimin in the middle of the stage, wrapping their arms around them in a group hug.

Namjoon looked up at the crowd "You ARMY's better protect our two babies here. They need support."

At that moment, Jungkook had never felt more content. He had truly found a family in BTS, a family in their fans. He had never met a fanbase so supportive before.

Maybe, just maybe, they'd make it through the dating scandals without losing their fanbase at all.

Jimin looked up at the crowd, and began to speak. His voice was high pitched and a little squeaky with nerves.

"B-by the way, we've been dating for 5 years."

The crowd erupted into ear piercing screams yet again.

"Like I said, y'all are dumb. Except for jikookers. You guys are mediocre." Yoongi added.

"Anyways guys. I know we're in.. A situation here, but the show must go on. We still have one more song to sing!" Taehyung shouted. "I'm assuming you all know Young Forever?"

The crowd yelped an undistinguishable jumble of words.

"I'll take that as a yes. In Jungkook's words, let's get it!!"

The music began to swell and Jungkook picked Jimin up bridal style, much to the delight of their fans.

When they got to the chorus, all the ARMY's began singing along in perfect harmony.

Forever, we are young

Under the flower petals raining down

I run, so lost in this maze

Forever, we are young

Even when I fall and hurt myself

I run endlessly towards my dream

Jimin began tearing up, the events of the day finally catching up to him. They were really out as a couple. And they were being supported so far.

Jungkook wiped away his tears with his free arm as he sung to him. They began singing together, Jungkook still carrying Jimin with all his strength.

The stage lights shone down on them, making them glisten as if they were made of silver.

They weren't silver though. To each other, they were golden.

The ARMY's joined in for the final chorus, waving their army bombs slowly.

As the song finished Jimin hopped out of Jungkook's arms and pulled him down for a final kiss, a slow and sweet one. The crowd roared and began to stand up one by one, until the couple had a standing ovation.

It was perfect in every way.
