"Mum! Gran "
The men all exclaimed as they all took one step towards me that was clearly their mum/gran. I took a few steps to the side to have a closer look, only making my heart hammer against my rib-cage.
Scarily enough, she looked just like Callum, almost a splitting image of him. The only difference I caught was that she had faint emerald eyes somewhat similar to Noah's. Her face held a few wrinkles but she held determination and fire, she spoke possessively, eyes trained on Callum,
"For the love of heavens, if you don't sit back where you were Callum, I swear, I'll beat you with the heel of my shoes"
My eyes trail back to Callum, seeing him now cower away along with dad and Joshua. A small smiles makes it to my face, clearly entertained by how one sentence alone places fear in the most successful men, but, like always fate plays against me.
My smile fades as her fingers press a little harder, making me tip-toe once more. I bite my lower lip, trying to hold back my moan. She steps in front of me, her emerald eyes holding my brown ones. She spoke dominantly,
"Now, can you tell me what you were doing with Lauren?"
I spoke quickly without hesitation,
"I was just catching up with her. It was a while since I last saw her. I wasn't expecting to see her here. Last time I saw her was at Noah's place"
The words slip out of my mouth. At my own words, my eyes widen a little as I realised that I said too much. For a millisecond, she loosens her fingers a little but I could still she the hesitation and weariness in her eyes. My answer didn't waver her,
"What are you doing here? You're not one of those hooks ups with my grandson are you?"
My eyes fall on Noah for a second, seeing that he was frozen on the stop. He had one hand shoved in his trouser pocket, the other rubbing the back of his neck in shame. I blink away from him, facing the grandma once more before stuttering,
"N-no, I used to work for him"
Even from the corner of my eye, I could already feel Noah fuelling up. I could already feel his eyes darken and soon enough, his footsteps were heard in the silence,
"Why the fuck is there the past tense in your sentence? You still work for me, that stupid resignation letter is ripped to shreds so it doesn't count."
"I've sent a copy to Luke. You should receive it on your desk Monday morning"
I speak calmly. He scoffs as he takes a daring step forward. His words were low and raspy,
"To hell this that. As soon as I step into that goddamn office, it'll thrown in the bin unopened. In fact, to hell with that piece of paper. You're coming to work with me first thing on Monday"
"I thought I told you that it wasn't going to happen"
"Listen to me, I don't care about what's happening or not, you are to be in work first thing on Monday. You've had enough time off"
"I said no the first time. Find someone else to fill me in."
"Stop fucking playing round. There will be no-one else other than you. Weather you like it or not"
"You can't make me do things just because you want it! If I say I'm not coming back then I'm not coming back!"
I speak, my words loud and clear. I find myself panting a little, chest heaving up and down softly. To make the situation more tense, he stepped even closer. The space between us was small so I took a step back in fear a little. His eyes darkened as he spoke hoarsely but deathly,
"Don't test me"
Clearing my voice, I cross my hands over my chest as I speak,
"I'm not testing you. I said I'll find another job elsewhere. In the meantime, you need to hire all the employees you fired. It's the least you could do for the company"
He pushed his hair back hastily as he spoke raising his voice,
"What's so special about those people?! They pissed me off hence I fired them"
I felt like I was going round in circles. That's not an excuse... you know you need them back... why are you denying it? It's clearly written on your face that you want them back yet your ego and pride is in the way...
My mind whirred with endless thoughts. My mind was swarmed with the thoughts. I bit the inside of my lip, the words carelessly leaving my lips,
"I'm clearly pissing you off, fire me"
He takes a wide step forward towards me so that the tip of our shoes were touching. A growl escapes from the back of throat as he speaks an octave lower,
"You know that's not happening. The last time I let you go, you left with a goodbye. A fucking goodbye. You're not leave my sight at all kitten"
Without realising, I find my eyes widening as the words leave my lips, rolling off at the tip of my tongue. Everyone who stood in the room, were silent as a mouse, even grandma. Not even a single breath was audible. The words that roll of my tongue was said in a mere whisper,
"Go back to Stephanie"
Even though, the words that leave my lips was in a whisper, I'm pretty sure that since it was dead-beat silent, everyone picked it up. Noah blinked multiple times before a scoff leaves his mouth. He places his hands on his waist, the anger clearly written on his face,
"Excuse me?"
Noah seethes. Sensing the fire in Noah's words, Joshua walks towards us and stand behind him. He places a hand on his shoulder but he merely shoves it off. He speaks darkly,
"Listen here kitten, whether I meet other females why do you care? I can do whatever I want, you can't stop me"

I, myself, scoff at his words. The anger finally building at the words that left his mouth. At his words, I find myself rolling my eyes clearly giving up on how possessive he sounded. Building the courage a little I take a step forward as I spoke,
"Listen, firstly let's drop the formalities and second of all, I don't care who you're seeing or who you're not. You clearly made it clear back at the office of where I stand when it comes to you."
I comb a hand through my hair as I continue my mini rant,
"Who am I to barge into your love life right? It's none of my concern anyways correct? What you do is your choice, I'm clearly not a choice. I'm just a PA right? I do what I'm told to do"
"What..."
He speaks a little baffled nevertheless, I continue knowing the fact that as the words I speak just breaks my heart even more than it originally did,
"We may have had something between us, but that clearly changed from your lack of communication and honestly, you were a jerk for it. An arrogant jerk for sure. If you want me to be honest, out of it all you did make my heart flutter and race,"
I let out a shaky breath, the lump quickly forming as I spoke,
"Behind that facade you had, I saw how vulnerable you could be. I knew what I was getting myself into yet I chose it anyway and you know why? I chose it because I actually thought I found the one... I thought... I thought..."
My voice began to crack,
"... I thought that I actually found happiness with someone who I thought I could hold tightly onto. Like how you said I was yours, I wanted you to be mine. I wanted to be possessive like how you are but I guess I was wrong"
My body slouches at the end of my sentence, my eyes falling on everyone behind him as they all held shock written on their faces. I blink away the unplanned tears, refusing them to spill. I clear my mouth, pushing the growing lump down as I speak,
"But since you want me to be your PA, I'll grant your wish for tonight. I'll be your PA for tonight. I'll gather all the info I need for tonight,"
I say, faking a smile. I look past him towards his family as I speak out formally,
"Mrs King since the event is starting shortly, I'll make a few phone calls for transport and we'll leave soon"
I say effortlessly as I look down at my watch to read the time,
"I- bu- what"
She speaks as she blinks at me. I give no space for conversations as I then turn towards the grandma seeing her equally astounded. She too was clearly taken back by our heated fight. I give her a smile as I speak, feeling Noah stare burn through me,
"I'm sorry you had to see this. Are you also attending the event?"
She also was taken back and like Zoe she gave a stiff nod. Her eyes went back and forth between us both. I turn my body away from everyone, ready to leave the scene.I take a few steps forward before I pause since he held into my wrist.
I feel a shock of electricity run though my body. I close my eyes in defeat a little. I bite my lip before releasing it. I turn my upper half to see his eyes filled with regret a little. He parted his lips as he spoke brokenly a little,
"Kitten..."
He called out. I turn back around so that I stood face-to-face with him. Not wanting to hear his voice anymore, I raise a hand. I swallow the lump what grew in my throat as I spoke,
"Mr. King, it would be best if you don't call me using pet names; I'll get the cars ready"
I yank my hand out of his grip making him react instantly as he tried to hold onto my hand once more. Now having a little picture in my head, of what he may do I took a step back. I give a forced smile to everyone before turning around and leave the room.
As soon as I leave the room, a shaky sigh leaves my mouth as I wrap my hands around my arms. I crouch down, bringing my knees to my chest. I bury my head as I felt both my heart and head explode.
I release small breaths through my lips before I throw my head back. I blink away the tears, not wanting to ruin my make-up. I bite my lip as I tried to distract myself but my attention was driven to Wendy,
"Lily!"
I look to the side, seeing her run up to me. She wraps her small arms around me as she buries her head in my neck. I give her a weak chuckle before hearing her speak softly,
"I'm sorry! It's my fault"
She wailed, her eyes brimming with fresh tears that eventually streamed down her cheek. I couldn't help as I blinked my own tears running down my cheeks. Before she could catch on, I quickly wipe them and instead, I give her a pained smile,
"Cupcake you didn't do anything wrong okay? It was my fault not yours"
I coo as I used my thumbs to wipe away her stray tears,
"Listen cupcake, go back to mummy okay? I have to call the drivers so we can all leave okay?"
She doesn't say anything as she wipes her own tears with the back of her hand. She takes a step away from me before giving me a single nod. I rub her arms soothingly before she ran back into the living room.
As soon as she left, my mind became blank and I stared at the floor. This time, I didn't want to hold back the tears, so I let them escape. A heavy sigh leaves my mouth the words slipped fast without me knowing,
"What am I going to do?"
