"No that doesn't go there... oh for fuck sakes!"

I scream as I point at the microphone stand that Tom was holding. All Tom did was sigh and roll his eyes at me. He removed his grip from the mic stand and began to back away so that he was a few steps away. I growl quietly before speaking in a low manner,

"Tom I swear if you take another step away from that mic stand I'll pin your arse multiple times until you have multiple holes,"

Everyone and I mean everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me. Tom raised an eyebrow, the corner of his lip tugging upwards. Stressed to the core, I comb a hand through my hair as I look uneasily around the room,

"Okay that came out wrong but you know I mean. I'm already stressed at it is and you're not helping,"

Tom sighs before standing in front of the mic again this time placing it perfectly in the centre of where I wanted it to be. I squealed in delight, giving him two thumbs up. He sighs dramatically and gave a deep bow. He then moved to leave the stage.

Someone from behind called me. I spin me on my heels coming to see Conner jog up to me with a serious look on his face,

"Hey Lil, can you double check the starters please. It's the last thing on the list that needs finalising,"

I give him a single nod and walk with him towards the table. I grab one of each, a heavenly moan leaving my lips. Once we reached the end, I turn to face Conner with an emotionless expression. I place my hand on his shoulder noticing that he broke out into a cold sweat,

"If anything, we might need more... what if I finish it all before the event even starts?!"

His face drops and I see relief wash through his face. He places both hands on my shoulders and and spins me around, now creating a distance between me and the table. I laugh as I proceed to walk away, showing him a peace sign above my head. I quickly turn back around to speak,

"I'm gonna head home now. I need to get dressed. I'll see you later and please I can't stress it enough, make sure everything is perfected otherwise I'll have your head off,"

"Lils I'm so scared. Help me!"

He answers back in a high pitched voice. I give him a deadpanned look before he breaks out into a small chuckle,

"Don't underestimate me. I'm counting on you whilst I'm gone,"

I was only wrapped in a towel. Another towel wrapped in a bun with my hair. I stare at the black box, the red ribbon still attached around it. Unopened. With a biting lip I take it off. The material making a soft swoosh sound from doing so.

I open the lid, coming to see a navy blue dress staring back at me. I gasp softly as my fingers brush against the soft silky material. I pull the dress out. The material quickly unfolding making it longer and without a doubt, clung against my frame.

The dress was shoulderless and had a slit down the bottom of the material. I just gasp at the dress, too stunned to even wear it. Noah's words were true. Due to being his PA, there was so much work that I barely had time for myself.

I was glad that he had bought me a dress since wearing something myself was out of the picture. I wasn't expecting something brand and expensive but this was Noah we're talking about. There was literally no point in even arguing.

Without wasting another second, I get changed. The material indeed gluing to my frame, making my curves show in the right places. There was a good amount of cleavage showing that made me look elegant and classy. The slit wasn't as bad as I was expecting it. It was perfect.

The back end of the dress trailed out a little and I fell in love with the dress now that I was wearing it. I stared back at my reflection, eyes staring at the person in front of me. She was elegant. She was sexy and most of all she was beautiful.

Just as I finished the last touches of my make-up, my phone rings. I lean over seeing Noah calling. I smile as I pick up,

"Hey,"

"Are you at the venue?"

I hum as I walk around, collecting my things whilst balancing my phone between my exposed shoulder and ear,

"Erm not yet. I will soon. I just gotta fix my lipstick and pray that my car doesn't break down. Oh my god, imagine if that happens?!"

I ramble. There was a silence before he spoke,

"Okay before we touch on your car I want to ask... did you... er.. are you... are you wearing the dress I bought you when we had lunch together?"

He asked. For a second I felt my heart tug at the way he spoke, like he was afraid of my answer. It was evident that worry plastered on his words and tone of voice gave it all away. An idea popped in my head,

"Oh my god,"

I fake gasp,

"I completely forgot about that. I didn't even have a lot of time at home. As soon as everything was like ninety-seven percent ready at the centre I left to get ready. I just grabbed on the first decent dress I could find that was in my cupboard,"

He doesn't say anything for a while, clearly not expecting my answer,

"What a shame... I really wanted you to wear it because I picked it myself,"

I pause and question hastily,

"Wait what... you personally went out and picked it?"

"Yeah,"

I regretted a bit. Lying, but the seesaw in my head was weighing from one side to the other. It would be amazing to see the look on his face when he sees me wearing it. I try to speak innocently,

"I'm really sorry. It literally slipped my head. I promise to wear it to another event if one comes up,"

He spoke like a child who couldn't the prize at the fair after multiple tries,

"I guess,"

I glance at my watch,

"Are you already at the venue?"

"I'm walking in now. When will you get here?"

Slipping on my silhouettes, I grabbed my keys and replied,

"Roughly twenty minutes. You can start off your speech in like five once you get there. Oh that reminds me, once you arrive speak to Conner, he's your go-to-person since I'm not there yet. I've told him what needs doing okay? I'll hopefully be there by the time you finish your speech,"

"Now onto the subject with your car. Do you want Mark to pick you up? I can always tell him too if you want,"

"Dolphin, don't worry about me. I'll be there for sure. Okay I'm going to hang up okay? I'll see you soon,"

"Be quick kitten, don't be late,"

He spoke an octave lower making my stomach churn out of the blue. I hated how it had an effect on me. It literally stressed me enough. Nevertheless, I roll my eyes as I playfully speak back,

"Anything for you Dolphin,"

I assumed he stopped in his steps because I heard someone groan from behind, specifically coming from Luke. I could already imagine Noah ushering him inside like he was a four-year-old. There was a two minute pause before the words he said only replayed in my head,

"You better keep that promise or else,"

"... can I just say another massive thank you to you all for joining this charity event. It means a lot that you've spared some time to join. A final thing I wanted to say was..."

His voice sings through my ears as I stepped inside the packed room. My eyes instantly zoned on Noah as he stood proudly on the stage, the mic stand in front of him. He had one hand in his black pants, the other holding a glass of champagne.

He matching my outfit by wearing a navy blue blazer, a clean white shirt and black tie. His trousers defining his thighs perfectly from where I stood. His hair was slicked back, his face business-like but he still managed to smile as he continued his toast,

"I know that all my employees who have spent their time and energy did an amazing work so I would like to say a massive thank you too, especially Luke's department. I know that I've given you a lot to do and yet you amazed me with all your hard work and dedication,"

He scanned the floor, his eyes capturing everyone in the room. I smirk as he faces my direction but misses me. It was given that he would miss me because I was still stood by the doors with my hands over my chest. Everyone claps at his speech and he gives a smile before continuing,

"I know there are still so many people to thank for this event and I will personally will do as I go round but on a last note, I just want to point out that my father had started this charity event and if he was here today with us to join us he would be-"

He freezes, his eyes finally landing on me. Not being fazed by him I unwind my hand from my chest and wave, giving him a soft smile. Even from this distance I catch him swallowing back his words, his Adams apple bobbing.

Someone turns to face me from my left and I was pretty sure it was the two annoying members that I've come accustomed to. Luke and Ed. They knew for certain that he was distracted by me. Its rare to see the CEO of King Enterprise freeze up on stage. He blinks before clearing his throat,

"I'm sorry. Where was I?"

He speaks at the crowd but his eyes merely trained on me alone. There was this confidence that I had and I didn't back down. I equally held his stare giving him an encouraging nod. He blinks before continuing,

"Ah yes, my father started this and if he had the time to come see I'm sure he would've been over the moon seeing how successful it had turned out,"

A waiter walks by and I grab a glass of champagne. I raise the glass indicating him to end his speech. He rolls his shoulders back so that he stood tall and mighty. He still had his eyes still on me as he lifts his glass high in the air. His eyes flickers around the room before saying,

"Without making this speech longer than it already is, this toast is to you all,"

Everyone follows lead as they hold their glasses up, clinking it with the person next to them. Noah chugs the champagne in one go and I follow lead. The liquid content leaving a little sting and I move the glass from my lips.

Noah gives one last nod and smile before stepping off stage. I knew for a fact that he was making ways to me. The classical music began to play and the floor became alive. Chatter and laughter alive in the air. It wasn't hard to miss Noah as he was taller than most of the people here.

He glides through the sea of people, giving people polite nods and smiles. He was a metre or two away before Luke jumps in from nowhere, grabbing his attention. He wraps an arm around his neck forcefully and turns him around from me.

Distress was written on his face as he glanced my way. Luke we was up to something... I tiptoed trying to keep him in my line of vision but it ended quick as our distance grew fast. Suddenly someone taps me on my shoulder. I turn, coming face-to-face with a grinning Ed,

"Hey baby girl,"

I scrunch my eyebrows together as I question,

"Are you even allowed to call me that?"

He shrugs his shoulders and answers playfully,

"I'm allowed to do anything if the end result includes irritating that stubborn hotheaded straight face-"

"-are you done?"

I intervene as I give him a raised eyebrow. He responds by giving me a wide smile showing me his set of white teeth,

"Protecting your man I see?"

I could feel myself heat up so I looked back at the crowd trying to find him. I catch the top half of his face. He was near the starter food table,

"Stop saying nonsense.... and that stubborn hotheaded straight face person is your mate you know,"

He nods his head with wide eyes sarcastically. I roll my eyes as I continue speaking,

"You do know that your partner-in-crime literally dragged the man himself away. If I was Noah I would've smashed my glass at him already,"

He lets out a deep chuckle. It wasn't one of those cocky ones but rather one that fell along the lines of mysterious and thrill. He stands tall, flexing his chest still trying to build his ego,

"I don't have to worry about anything since you're gonna stop anything that happens to me if he does try to attack me,"

I scoff as I now begin to walk away,

"Hey! Don't leave me,"

He whines. I turn around suddenly making him skid against the floor. I point a finger at him as I speak,

"Don't even think about using me to irk Noah. It'll get to a point where he'll do something and I won't be able to stop him,"

"True but..."

He speaks as his tone of voice became excited,

"... but what?"

"... but if that happens wouldn't you be able to like kiss him out of it?"

At his words I give him a look of disbelief and shake my head, walking through the sea of people. Instead of going somewhere random, I head for the stage with him hot on my trial. I walk up the steps until I'm stood on the platform.

I catch a few eyes from businessmen and staff who worked at the company. I smile, still approaching the mic. I tap it a few times, now having everyone's attention me. I look where Noah was stood, already finding him with his attention solely focused on me.

I bite my lip nervously, my eyes closing whilst doing so. I let out a small breath as I felt myself stumble on the spot. I open my eyes, the nervousness now gone. I I flash them a wide smile with my mind pumping the adrenaline. Right let's get on with this event...
