Days turned into weeks and before I knew it, I had worked as Noah's PA for over three and a half months. If I was to be completely honest, being Noah's personal assistant was both a blessing and a curse. The workload that came with the job was no joke either. Ridiculous even.

The work that was given to me was either handed by Tom, Luke, Daisy or Noah himself. One thing that I did underestimate was that I was constantly making trips to Noah's office for various things, whether it was for signatures, updates and discussions even on what to do next.

There were multiple occasions where I stayed back so that the workloads were reduced as well as take many breaks for coffee, god it was an endless routine. I could tell because the trips to the toilet was my evidence.

There were a few times where Tanya would pop up to the mighty floor and ask to help. Daisy offered too, but I turned them down, not wanting them to be held back for the sole reason of me.

Restlessly they would leave with pouts on their lips and tons of looking over their shoulder like they were expecting me to call them back. Instead I let them walk away until I could no longer see them in sight.

Like all days, today was no less. Since the charity event was coming up close, there was still many things left to get done. I sucked in a deep breath, opening a word documents of things that I still had to tackle. The only one left was the venue.

My eyes trailed to the bottom of the computer screen, reading the time as half eleven. Everyone by now would have left and made ways home, clearly that wasn't me until now. I continued typing, blinking away the sleepiness but I failed miserably.

I tried again, only to freeze as I heard another pair of footsteps walk outside my office. The mindset of me being the only one here at the company was well gone. I stared at my door, fingers hovering above the keyboard. Someone eventually knocks on my door eerily.

I swallow down the dryness that had built up in seconds. The cold air around me had doubled, the dim darkness now suddenly becoming my new fear. Soon the door opens and Noah's tall frame steps inside.

I let out a small gasp in relief, the fear long gone. I look at him, watching him close the door. He leans against the door in a relaxed manner. He crossed his arms over his chest resulting his muscles to double. My eyes quickly skim them. I bit the inside of my mouth,

"Mr King, you're still here?"

He unfolds his arm, reading the time on his watch. He doesn't look up and questions, completely ignoring the fact that I had asked him a question first,

"It's late. What are you doing here?"

I sucked my lips in and glanced at the computer screen,

"There's still some things left to do for the charity event. I thought I'd stay back and finish it off before tomorrow since you know, you'll give me more stuff to do,"

He pushed himself off the door and walked forward, eyes wandering around the room. He speaks in an octave lower voice that instantly made shivers run down my spine,

"The last time I entered this office was when we had our first kiss. It brings back memories,"

He spoke so openly and proudly when it was just us two alone. It was a whole new story in the presence of other people through. Talk about major mood swings. My eyes also look around, the scene becoming vivid like it had happened yesterday.

He walked in my direction and walked past me, making his sandalwood scene invade my personal bubble. He continued walking until he stood in front of the glass window behind me. I zone on the white couch before speaking to no-onein particular,

"Tell me about it,"

I sucked my lips in thinking of what to say next,

"I've got this last task left. You can leave first if you want. I'll be done in ten minutes or so,"

He hums at my statement and comments back,

"And leave you here alone in the building? That's not happening kitten,"

My memory falls back to the time when we kissed, the way how he had left me stranded here all alone. Easy for you to say. I spin in my chair, already finding him look over his shoulder. I speak in a comfortable manner,

"Seriously dolphin, don't worry,"

I then moved to grab a pen, opening up my notebook. I quickly scribbled down another task that came to head. Double check the guest list! Since I wasn't looking at him, I heard him shuffle away from the window.

I tried my hardest not to look up but his presence alone was a mere distraction. I placed the pen down, grabbing his attention just as he took a seat. He gives me a lay smirk. Even in the dimly lit room, his emerald eyes shimmered. He was still able to make me breathless dammit.

Even through there was a good distance between us, I could still see his eyes filled with a little playfulness and tiredness. I closed my eyes, trying to stifle a yawn. I decided to give up on work since I knew I would get nothing done with him staring at me. I gave him a tired smile and said,

"I think I'm done for the day,"

Without needed another clarification he pushes himself up. He fixes his blazer and tie before giving me a tired but breathtaking smile,

"Great. Come on I'll drop you home,"

I blinked a few times, unable to take in his words,

"I-"

"I'll be waiting outside. Don't make me wait for long,"

He cut me off. He gave a lazy smile and left the room without looking back. I open and close my mouth like a fish before getting a grip. I quickly packed away, turning off the computer. I grabbed my back and made a beeline for the door.

Once I stepped out my office, my eyes naturally find Noah. He stood in front of the elevator. He obviously heard me because he looked up from his phone. He switches it off and places it in his pocket. He ushers me over whist pressing the button, the door opening immediately.

I did a quick runner as he stood inside patiently. Letting out an endless sigh for the day the door eventually closes. Even though it was past work hours, I felt panicky being in the same space with him.

I look from the corner of my eye seeing Noah lean against the wall, his eyes on me. I cleared my throat, not knowing what to do. Not wanting to be intimidated by him, I copy him with a tired smile plastered on my lips.

My back touches the cold surface and it was only then when I realised that his suit blazer was hanging on his arm, tie loosened and the top button of his shirt undone. Now that I was up and close next to him I noticed the smallest detail of his face.

I noticed that he had high cheekbones, his jawline sharp. His eyelashes were long enough to put any ladies to shame with their fake ones. I stared contently into his emerald eyes picking up flecks of brown that drew me in, keeping me in a hypnotic trance.

I noticed the faint stubble growing and like mine, he too had eyes that were fighting not to close. Even though no words were spoken the silence between us was comfortable. His eyes roamed around my face as he spoke, the tiredness present,

"Tell me something about yourself,"

I suck my lips in and shrugged my shoulders, unable to say or think of anything,

"I don't have much to say,"

He stands confidently and speaks in a quiet manner,

"I can think of so many,"

I meet his eyes, those eyes that held so much. I felt the words slip my lips,

"Ask away then,"

It was his turn to look away, eyes now staring at the doors. He sucked in his lips and grinded his teeth, making his jaw tense. I was left at awe when I saw just how sharp his jawline was. He was clearly in his thinking mode,

"Hmm when's your birthday?"

His question throws me off guard but I speak nevertheless,

"Er sixth of May,"

He nods his head. He lets out a quiet sigh and I took the chance to question him,

"When's yours?"

He gave me a look with his eyebrows raised. He itched his eyebrow, teasing me by staying silent. I was about to take a step and protest but the timing was off. The doors opened. He glanced at the doors and gave me a look. He ushered to the opened doors,

"Ladies first,"

Like a deer caught in headlights I freeze at his change of words. I was only able to nod once, looking down at the floor as I stepped out. I continued walking until I reached the double glass doors, him hot on my trail.

A cold gust of wind slaps across my face as I opened the doors, coursing me to shiver physically from the impact. Why didn't I bring a jacket with me? I scowled mentally. Noah stood by my side and spoke,

"My car isn't parked far. I'll drop you home,"

"What about Mark? How are you going to go home?"

He moved so that he was stood in front of me, our toes touching. His hair rapidly became a mess due to the restless wind. The wind was clearly trying hard to be cupid and it worked because I had the strongest urge to comb my fingers through his hair, fixing it to perfection.

He gave me a look that expressed that I said the most ridiculous thing ever,

"Don't be stupid, Mark finishes work the same time as you all. I don't abuse my workers, and to answer your second question. I can drive as well you know,"

Well that shut me up. He squints his eyes, looking around the eerie pavements. I followed his movements, seeing a few cars parked on the curb. Assuming that Noah had found his car, he turns to me,

"Come on, let's go before you freeze up,"

He grabs onto my hand, entwining our fingers. I look down at our hands, the warm burning away the cold in an instant. He takes lead, my following him without a choice. As we walk, my eyes stay glued on our hands.

We don't walk for long and soon enough I find myself standing in front of a black Mercedes. He guides me to the passenger side of the car. He pulls his hand out of mine, opening the door. I glance up to him, seeing him usher me inside,

Feeling the cold creep slowly my spine, I take a seat. I rub my hands together looking at the black interior. He closes the door and runs to his side, taking a seat in the drivers seat. He ignites the car and turns on the heater, filling the car with warmth.

He pulls off the curb in a slow and steady pace, making ways to the main road. I guide him, pointing on which way to go home.In-between a conversation flowed smoothly,

"What's your main goal right now?"

He asked as he smoothly turned a right after my indication. I thought about his question,

"Honestly nothing much really. I just wanna make my parents proud. They've done so much for me it was only right that I at least put a smile on their face,"

I look at him, taking in his side profile.

He nods in acknowledgement, never taking his eyes off the road. I slightly tilt my body to face him. My interest bubbling inside,

"You've know enough about me, can I get to know you too?"

He lets out a deep chuckle as he lets me question him. I bite my lip, my eyes imprinting his side profile in my brain. The question leaves my lips after doing so,

"Do you ever find it hard?"

He perks his eyebrows up in confusion. He questions back,

"Find what hard?"

He turns left smoothly, his arms flexing from doing so. I find it too distracting so I turn my head out the window speaking in a quiet voice,

"You know, being CEO. Owning a whole company? Is it hard handling all that responsibility?"

He lets out a soft laugh. He speaks, all his words raw and unfiltered,

"Kitten I'm just like everyone else. I have flaws too. For as long as I can remember my father always said that he saw potential in me. I remember when he first brought up the matter. I remember being sceptical about it,"

He shook his head for a second,

"I mean the fate of my fathers business was in my hands. I could either ruin it or make it big,"

He paused for a minute. I looked back at him seeing him flex his jawline. His eyebrows were scrunched together like he was trying to choose the right words,

"I'm just like everyone. I've always wanted to make my father proud as well. I wonder if I have... without him I wouldn't be where I am right now,"

The car rolls to a stop at a red light. He lets out a shaky breath. I couldn't help but smile at his rawness. I reached out to him and placed my hand on top of his that was resting on the gear stick. My hand felt like a baby's hand holding onto their parent.

I didn't know if I should blush from embarrassment or act like it never happened. He looks down at my hand before meeting my eyes. It was this moment that made my heart speed up. I spoke in a whisper, my thumb drawing small random circles,

"I know he's proud of you. I bet your whole family is,"

He gives a genuine smile back, the words in a whisper so quiet I barely heard it. His eyes falling back on our hands,

"I hope so,"

I scoff as I argue,

"Come on, you can't really say that can you? I know for a fact that they're proud. Who wouldn't be? I mean look at you! You're a successful multi-billionaire!"

He chuckles before continuing to drive. I change the subject,

"Anyways besides from the emotional talk, do you have any siblings? I'm like dying to know,"

He nods,

"Yeah an older brother,"

"Oh same here! The most annoying sibling one could ever ask for oh my god,"

He turns a final left, me telling him to pull up on the left shortly afterwards. Once the car was pulled up he leans forward against the steering wheel, looking around the neighbourhood. His emerald eyes then met my brown ones,

"This place looks nice,"

I move so that I'm taking off my seat belt,

"Trust me, it is. Everyone here are all so lovely,"

His eyes trail the block of flats as he questions,

"So which floor do you live in?"

I turn so that I'm facing the block of flats on my left,

"That building on the second floor,"

He nods before looking ahead. I move so that I began to gather my things,

"I should go now. It's getting late and I'm holing you back from heading home too,"

I don't waste a second to open the door; allowing another cold gust of wind to hurdle in. I step outside, only to lean down and face Noah. He too leans forward over the gears to meet my eye. I smile at him and say,

"Thank you for dropping me off. You didn't have too,"

He shakes my comment off,

"And let the chivalry die? No thanks,"

I laugh lightly at his response seeing his eyes light up from doing so. I give him a wave before closing the door. Another gust of wind attacks me making my hair cover my face. I tied my best to clear my vision but gave up as I ran up the path, now stepping under the mini-roof.

Fishing out my keys out from the bottom of my bag, I open the door successfully. I turn back around for the final time, still seeing his car there. The headlights were still on, shining brightly. I knew he was looking my way so I gave him a final wave, him doing so too.

He had a smile on his face that made my heart leap in a hurdle. I bit my lower lip, ushering him away. He shakes his head at my childishness. Why was I acting like is? He wasn't dropping me off from a date.

This was never meant to happen. When did it happen? More so, how did this happen?

I make my way inside heading up to the second floor. I walk up to my door, stepping into the dark apartment. I switched on the light and began to take my clothes off in a hurry. I made sure that I held every piece of item and walked into my room.

I stored my clothes away and wore my Winnie the Pooh pyjamas. I then left my room and stepped into my open kitchen, drinking a glass of water. Placing the glass away I begin to make ways back to my room to sleep but the unplanned ring from my front door disagrees.

A heavy sigh leaves my lips as I walk over. My fingers move swiftly, pulling the strands of hair into a messy bun. Eventually I opened the door, coming to see the last person who I thought would see,

"Oh?"
