"Why the hell are we going to the office at eleven thirty at night? On a Friday?"
I face him for a reply but he didn't give on. In fact the guy just continued staring at his phone as if it was no big deal. I could feel my blood boil,
"Hey I'm speaking to you!"
I lash out. His thumb hovers over his phone as he looks at me. The look he had almost made me regret the words I said. He point to himself and questions,
"Who me?"
A scoff leaves my mouth as I roll my eyes. I stare at Mark as he tried not to give a side glance. He wasn't going to get away with it,
"Mark, can you confirm who's sitting next to me please, clearly they need an identity check,"
I hear Mark clear his voice, trying to ease the tension but it didn't help. I look back at Noah already finding him have a red face. The anger clearly showing as a vein popped out of his neck. I don't back out as I equally stare, meeting his emerald eyes.
The whole car journey was awkward and quiet until we pulled up the curb. I break first as I look out the window, indeed seeing the now dark building. Mark cuts of the engine as he clears his throat,
"Sir, we're here,"
Noah doesn't say anything and opens the door, slamming it as soon as he stepped out. He walked into the dark building without looking back. I scoff as I lean against the seat, I was finally seeing this side of Noah. The bitchy one. The rude and annoying one.
I thrash around in the seat, feeling the need to let out of my emotions in the childish way possible. I mutter making Mark look towards me,
"What a fucking dick. How the hell can he literally drag me to work? For what bullshit reason? Friday means no more work. Get drunk and sleep in, not go back to the damn office thirty minutes before midnight,"
I cross my hands over my chest and stare at the headrest. A small gasp leaves my mouth as I look at Mark, him mirroring me uneasily. I lean forward until I was close to him, making him lean away a little. I smile at him as I speak, carefully picking my words,
"Mark how do you feel about dropping me home? He won't even realise hmm? If he does..."
I place a hand on my chest like an oath,
"I'll take full responsibilities,"
A sigh leaves his mouth as he shakes his head. He gives me a sad look before replying,
"I wish I could Miss Cole I-"
"Call me Lily and do I want to know how you even know my name?"
He gives a curt smile. He moves to continue his speech but becomes silent as my door opens letting in a gust of cold air. I look to the side seeing Noah stand. He speaks through gritted teeth,
"Get out,"
I look at him from head to toe before leaning back on the sofa as I refuse,

"I'm good thanks. The weekend means no work. I'd like to go home,"
He sucks in a deep breath making me eye the hold he had on the door. With the help of the cold and his anger, it wasn't for his knuckles to turn ash white. My eyes waver as I look back at him seeing his eyes no longer emerald but rather icy and cold.
I give a glance to Mark as he quietly tells me to leave. Dropping my shoulders I sigh in defeat now leaving the car. I take a step out, standing tall and almost touching chests with him. The action was like an Eskimo kiss, allowing a shiver to run down my back.
I don't wait as I walk past him and into the building. I scan the place, seeing everything dark. I hear the car door slam shut and feet following shortly after. I stand in the middle of the room, watching Noah walk through the doors confidently.
We both held eyes as he walked in, me holding my breath as the outside light acted like a halo around his body frame. I didn't even realise that he was now stood in front of me. The tip of his shoes touching mine.
Even with my heels on, I still was short dammit. He looks down before leaning down a little, his nose touch mine briefly. My lips part a little as I look to is lips, quickly seeing him lick them. He then stands tall, taking confident steps around me, leaving me baffled and shook on the spot,
"Are you coming or not?"
I turn on my heels seeing him stood in front of the elevator with the doors open. I walk up to him, the both of us entering at the same time. We face the front, him moving to press the button for his floor finally allowing the doors to close.
It finally hit me. I'm in an empty building with my boss only... wearing nothing but a short red dress. Well fuck me.
The atmosphere between us grew hot and I felt myself getting agitated. Moving from one foot to the other, I finally gave up turning my body to face him. I take steps backwards until my back touched the wall. You know what they say, curiosity killed the cat,
"So why exactly am I here at the office?"
Silence. All I received was silence. I bite my tongue from saying anything further but I couldn't help it. Just as I open my mouth the doors open and he was out of my sight. I throw my head back, feeling annoyed of being left in the dark for no reason.
I step out of the lift only to see him stand in the middle of the open space. I stop, confused to why he stopped out of the blue. I keep my eyes on him as he moves to lift his hand and massage his temple. I walk up to him, finding myself intoxicated by his sandalwood scent. I call out softly,
"Dolphin?"
He turns his head to look at me as I approach him. Once I was in a close, I faintly heard him mutter but I didn't catch it quick enough,

"What did you say?"
"Nothing. Turn on Daisy's computer. I need you to check something for me,"
Without arguing and feeling sober, I walk towards Daisy's computer. I don't bother to sit down and just lean forward against the chair, my eyes squinting at the brightness. Whilst I waited for the computer to warm up, I see Noah lean against his door, arms crossed over his chest.
Since he wasn't wearing his blazer, his white shirt outlining his muscles beautifully, making him look broader, sexier. I noticed now that his tie was a little loose and his hair was all over the place all, like he was stressed once more.
He catches me look at him so I ease the situation by flashing him a small smile. The screen shone brighter, indicating me that it had turned on. I looked at the screen and typed in my details. Since the silence was killing me, I decided to fill it with my voice,
"You know dolphin, if you're stressed with anything, I am here to help you. I am your personal assistant for a reason you know. I mean you clearly wanted me to take that role,"
A dry chuckle leaves my mouth as I shake my head, my hair falling on either side of my face. A couple of minutes pass until he speaks, his voice an octave lower,
"You chose the role. I only proposed it,"
I raise an eyebrow as he reiterated,
"You clearly chose it remember?"
After I logged in, I look up before blatantly speaking,
"Er... no I didn't,"
He pushes himself off the wall, taking slow teasing steps towards me. He spoke in a nonchalant manner,
"I'm pretty sure you did. I mean you chose to leave the room that day so technically speaking, you accepted the offer the moment you left my office,"
I pout my lips out as I try to defend myself,
"Like I said, I never wanted to work as a PA. I was perfectly fine with what I had when I was with Luke,"
"That idiot deserves a massive decrease in his pay but, I'll let it side. I mean he did find me the best suitable candidate for my personal assistant. Especially when I needed one asap,"
He said as he tilts his head to the side. He met my eyes and spoke in a questioning voice,
"I guess I should give him a pay rise instead don't you think?"
His words held some playfulness and from the way he smirked, I knew it was since his emerald eyes shone with life. It wouldn't hurt my standards if I didn't try too huh?
"And where's my pay rise hmm? If I'm working for the CEO of all time, shouldn't I be getting a hefty pay rise too?"
He lets out a deep chuckle making my face fall. He places his arms on the edge of the table, getting eye-level with me. My brown orbs meeting his striking emerald ones,
"You clearly haven't checked your bank statement have you kitten? You're getting paid five times a day not every like since you're my personal assistant,"
Like the coin being flipped, it was my turn to have my fingers hovering above the keyboard. I suck in my lower lip, flashing him a pained smile,
"I didn't get a chance to see but now that you mentioned it, I will when I get home,"
The computer screen lights up even brighter and I turn my attention to it as I speak out for him,
"The computers on, what do you need?"
He stands tall as he speaks,
"I need you to confirm if I have a meeting with Mr Lancaster in two days time,"
I look up at him as my mouth drops open,
"So you're telling me... that you dragged me to work at midnight just to confirm if you have a meeting or not?"
"I'm pretty sure I did say what I need you to do,"
I lost it. I'm pretty sure this was my breaking point if Luke hadn't managed to break it,
"You're a dick. You actually think I'm going to check this now when I could've done that on Monday morning when I actually have to come in to work. But no,"
I stress out, my anger boiling with every word I say,
"I'm here doing it now when I could be either one, dancing to my hearts content in the club getting rid of all my worries and unfry my brain or two, be sleeping in my Whinne-the-Pooh pyjamas at home you brain dead goldfish!"
I exclaim, my voice becoming louder by the second. I abruptly stand as I walk away from him. I try not to face him as I felt him watch my every move. I walk to my office. I could hear him inhale a deep breath as I walked past him but he doesn't say anything.
Instead his footsteps are heard. I knew he was following me. I don't look over my shoulder to confirm it so I step into my office, reaching for my desk. I head straight for my desk and lean forward, grabbing a pen.
It was clear that he followed me into my office because he cursed under his breath quietly but, since it was just us two alone, it was heard loud and clear,
"Fuck it,"
I stand straight, closing my eyes trying to get rid of the rising anger. It all vanished as I felt my wrist burn up. I scrunch my eyes together and looked down. With no warning, I'm spun around until my chest collides into his.
My hands instinctively rest on his chest, I look up seeing him look down at me. The hold he had on my wrist kept on warming up, the warmth flushing through my veins. He suddenly lets go of my wrist and cups my face with both hands in a fragile manner.
My eyes follow his hand as my heart races than it ever could. He dips his head down until I could feel his breaths fan my face harder. I close my eyes in anticipation unable to move due to our distance. Before I know it I feel his lips brush mine and it was there, I felt it.
I felt the sparks.
