《The CEO's Safe Haven [EDITING SOON!]》11. Oops

The doors opened on the 30th floor. The habit of biting my lip coming back. It was only then when I realised that I kept biting my lip when I was in a short radius of Noah. I step outside coming to see Daisy look up and give a smile. I approach her,

"Hey Dais, it's been a while since I last saw you,"

She gives me her attention by winking,

"Of course it has. The day when you first came will always be memorable. Once you left the room Mr King was reckless. I've never seen him like that,"

I give her a confused look,

"And that's a good thing..."

"Honey, I can tell you that whatever happened behind that door was meant to be,"

I give her a horrified look, walking away from her,

"Yeah I didn't come here to talk about that memory. God, you're worse than Tanya. You know, you should meet her. I know for a fact that you'll both get along perfectly,"

She gives me another wink, a joyous laugh escaping her lips as she questions,

"So what brings you here..."

"Oh I never said my name last time! It's Lily,"

She gives a knowing nod as she continues,

"I see what you meant about we'll get along well the other day. As I was saying, what brings you here to the mighty 30th floor?"

I roll at her playfulness as I reply back,

"Luke told me to give Mr King the file on Brookside Industries,"

She lifts her hand to her chin, scratching it like she had a beard,

"It's funny how every time you come here it's because of that troublemaker,"

I give a knowing look as I reply,

"It's Luke we're talking here. I'm surprised that he's still alive in this company,"

Daisy gives a small chuckle, pointing towards Noah's door,

"He's inside, just give a knock and head in,"

Giving her a salute, I leave her post heading towards the door. Once I stood in front of it, I knock a couple of times not hearing a response. I look over my shoulder giving Daisy a pout as she shakes her head at my actions,

"He might be busy working on a file or busy checking a mail on the computer. Just walk in and place it on his desk. It should be fine,"

Taking her advice, I open the door walking in only to freeze the second I step inside. Noah was facing away from me. The back of his chair gave me a view of his head and the woman from a couple of nights ago, straddling his lap. Her lips attached to his neck.

I catch her eyes, a sly smile playing on her lips as she stands up removing herself from him. Noah lets out a heavy sigh as he speaks darkly,

"Whoever you are, you best have a good reason to walk in without my permission. Otherwise you can start writing your resignation letter this very instant here with me being present in the damn room,"

He spins on his chair, his face hard and blank until he sees me standing with the file pressed against my chest. Upon seeing my arrival, his eyes widen slightly. At a sloths pace, one my hand move upwards so that it was rubbing the back of my neck.

I swallow the dryness that had formed in mere seconds. I clear my throat, a strangled reply leaving my mouth. Seeing them both made me forget how to speak so I say the only word that I could muster,

"Oops?"

He blinks once. Twice. Three times before commenting back,

"Oops? That's all you have to fucking say? Y- Stephanie you can leave,"

He speaks his eyes focused on me. My eyes fall on the woman, so she has a name, she doesn't do anything other than look at her manicured nails,

"But babe... you can't leave me hot and bothered,"

She whined placing a hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze. He snapped his eyes towards her. The look he gave her was completely dangerous. I would have wet myself if I was her. She quickly removes her hand from his shoulder, a puff leaving her mouth.

She struts towards me, her hips swaying deliberately until she fell in line with me. She paused for a second, looking up and down at me. My eyes mirror hers making me feel less confident than I already was. She rolls her eyes before walking off.

The door behind her slammed making me shake from the loudness. Fuck. I was in the room with him. Alone. Once again. Dammit. I bite my lip, looking down as I gripped the folder tighter. I then peak through my lashes, seeing him now lean back on his chair, never looking away,

"Do you want to explain why you walked in without knocking?"

The paper moved away from my body and I open my mouth to speak but I stop myself, now speaking like a guilty child caught stealing something from the kitchen,

"I did knock... Daisy said I can come in. She said you'd probably be working... if I knew it was something else I would have left it with her,"

He gives me a questioning look, tilting his head to the left a little,

"Leave what?"

"Oh this,"

I say as if the events that I witnessed never happened to start with. My legs move effortlessly towards him, my heels clicking as I moved. Once I was in front of his desk, I lean down slightly placing the file down in front of him,

"Luke wanted me to bring you the file on Brookside Industries. He said that you wanted it ASAP,"

He gave a nod as he leaned forward picking up it up. He flicked though the pages, speaking without looking at me,

"Hmm yes. I do need this file. Why didn't he bring it up himself?"

"Uh... he said something along the lines of not wanting to return back with a bruise,"

At my words he looks up a slight smile making its way,

"Luke said that?"

I nod hesitantly,

"He said that you'd attack him with one of your stationary..."

He pouts, nodding his head as he looks around his desk. He hums, his fingers tracing the stapler that was close to him. My eyes follow his movements as he gracefully touches the matte black stationary, caressing it delicately. I gulp feeling him now stare at me again,

"He's right. Good he didn't come otherwise my stapler would have collided with that precious face of his,"

My eyes widen at his words, mouth parted a little. He gives another nod as he moves to grab a pen opening the file at the same time. I watch his actions, seeing him click open the pen. He went to the first page, getting ready to make notes from the looks of it.

I suck my lips in seeing the tip of the pen touch the paper. Argh... he shouldn't write on it... My mind cried. Before the pen could stain the paper, my hand shoots up, stopping him,

"Wait, you don't need to make any notes,"

He freeze, eyes looking at me. Before he could say something, I take a seat and remove the pen from his hand. I then grab the file and flick through the pages. I licked my bottom lip and spoke confidently without looking at him,

"You don't have to anything. Brookside was one of the files that you blatantly gave me to complete in two weeks. I've done everything for this file since I took it home. All you need to look at this page. It summarises it all. Here,"

I say opening it to the right page, giving it back. I raise my gaze back to him, seeing him already looking at me with his head tilted to the side, curiosity filled in his emerald eyes,

"Any advantages?"

I blink for a few seconds as I respond without a fight,

"A lot in my opinion,"

"Name me their wow factor,"

"Despite being a medium sized business they have excellent customer service. Rarely any complaints, if they do have one, it's resolved right away. Like if they receive a complaint and resolve it right way. I don't know what would top that up if you ask me,"

He nods his head thinking silently,

"Any threats?"

I shake my head,

"I don't see any and even if I did notice one I doubt it would be major. If anything, it would be minor like really minor and sorted fast and efficiently,"

"How would they benefit us if we was to strike a deal?"

I ponder for a second before I answer,

"Hmm... thinking professionally and in business terms, they have high customer service that is like what? Nearly 97-99% positive. I've spotted that their customers are always coming back, no matter what they have to offer,"

I take a break before continuing,

"I've looked into their customers and noted that they all have high revenue which means they're loaded and believe me when I say they are. I've also had a look at their community forums and other stuff on their website. Hands down totally worth investing. Oh and I forgot to mention..."

I pause, trying to build tension. I place my arms on the desk and look right into his dazzling emerald eyes, finishing off my sentence,

"They're looking to partner up with someone so they can raise their products allowing them to move from being a medium-sized industry to a well-known one. I also found out that they've recently had a offer from one of our opposing party. If I were you, I'd grab'em before they do,"
