《Frenemies》Chapter 29: Girlfriend, huh?

1 week later
There was panting.
You grinned, laying onto your stomach when hearing heavy breathing on the other end of the phone call. "Oh maknae," you sighed out, voice teasing, "How hot you sound right now."
Jungkook laughed, moving the phone away from one ear before placing it to the next. It took a moment, but even you could hear the switch of you being put on speaker phone.
"What you doing?" you asked, curious to why he was so out of breath.
"We just finished a show," Jungkook said causally, having your eyes widen before he continued, "I was changing out into more comfortable clothes."
"Aw," you pouted, still slightly taken back, "Why are you calling me then? Rest, I'm always free other times."
"Yeah," Jungkook said, voice just as teasing as time went by, "But the thing here is that I miss you and want to get the chance to speak whenever I can."
"Ooo," you sang out, moving away "Even when you're changing, I see."
Jungkook chuckled, it was a breathy one. Your brows furrowed a little when hearing his voice muffle over the phone, it took a moment, but you understood he was probably putting on a new shirt at this point. The sudden thought of a shirtless maknae brought a huge grin onto your face.
"Aye maknae," you called out, waiting for him to shoot out a "hm" or "yeah" over the phone so you could continue. When he did, you spoke up again, "Shoot your girl up with some pics."
There was silence over the phone and you tried your hardest not to laugh.
"Pictures?" Jungkook innocently asked, grabbing the phone into his hand again before moving to grab at pants to change into. "Of what...Oh! I can probably get a few shots of the arena we played in today. Would that be nice?"
You pursed your lips, form incredibly amused before playfully agreeing. "Yes," you piped, getting up from the bed before moving towards your full-length-faced mirror. "...and I'll send you pictures of my...arena."
Jungkook's brows furrowed at that. Confused for a moment, his phone dinged again. Mentally noting to check for the messages later, he chuckled obliviously when you urged for him to look at the messages now. Moving to switch over from his call so he could see what you sent, his confusion flew away as he almost dropped his phone.
Eyes wide and mouth almost spitting out saliva, Jungkook fumbled with his phone, quickly catching it before nonchalantly looking around and putting it to his ear again. Clearing his throat, he acted as if he was to most chill human out there, when in reality, the leather pants he wore from the show suddenly became...a little tighter around his groin area.
"O-Oh," he sang out, voice higher than Jimin on helium, "T-That's what you meant by pictures."
You moved your clothing back slowly, trying not to shyly let your words spill out. Instead, you laughed nervously before slumping back onto the bed.
"Hmm," you cutely hummed out, fingers playing around with the fabric of your bed sheets. "But it's okay if you're uncomfortable," you instantly piped, knowing he probably was new to these ways, "I'll be content knowing you've got something to remember me by instead. I'll just let my mind imagine how the famous maknae abs look like."
Jungkook laughed nervously, feeling his ear burning. "Ahh," he sang out, smiling before awkwardly rubbing at the back of his neck, "That bruise on my neck faded a bit so this was...sweet I guess?"

You snorted, laughing at the man's innocence. "I love how you act like I punched you in the throat," you chimed.
Jungkook panicked at that. "N-No, it felt good, trust me it did," he urgently piped, "J-Just like how it feels good to know that now I've got—"
You grinned when he shyly cut himself off. You could practically hear his throat clug up.
"Pictures," you finished for him.
"Ye."
You smiled sweetly over the sudden silence on the phone. It seemed as if the maknae was staring at the pictures again, that simply made you flush a little harder. Clearing your own throat now, you called for him and he answered back right away. From the slight glitch of the phone, it seemed that he might have almost dropped the device again.
"I uh, I saw some of the chaos online today," you sighed out, resting your chin onto your sheets as you continued to untwine the fabric by the string that poked out now.
"Don't pay attention to that."
"I know, I know," you said softly, pouting at your bottom lip. "It's just that it's been almost a week and people are still springing out theories about me being at your concert last time...it's like no one sees the most important thing—I saved your ass from dying and yet all everyone worries about is why your 'robber' was there."
"First off," Jungkook started, teasing in hopes to make things lighter, "I wasn't going to die if I fell off that stage. Let it go already."
You rolled your eyes, no longer pouting as you smiled slightly.
"Second," Jungkook sighed out, crouching so he could look through bins for some comfortable sweats instead of skin-tight leather, "I know it's hard but sometimes it's going to be hard for you when being my girlfriend. This way, maybe both of us can wear masks permanently and live in peace from public eye." He laughed near the end, shaking his head over his own little joke before picking out clothing.
Your brows furrowed deeply, however, your smile grew into a huge smirk instantly.
"Girlfriend, huh?"
Jungkook froze for a moment.
You waited for him to speak but watched as there was just shuffling on the other end.
"...not going to talk now?" you teased, whispering your words out as he continued to get to his tasks.
"You said we should wait before speaking about us until we got back," the maknae retorted, shrugging, "That's why I grew quiet."
You never knew you could smile so huge until this very moment.
"Why not talk about that now?" you proposed, moving onto your back so that your eyes were on the ceiling now. "...I mean we can talk about other things later."
"Like what?"
You bit your lower lip. "Why not this," you proposed, "We talk about our status in relationship now and then when you come back, we'll have deep talks about honesty where I shed away all answers to any questions you have."
There was silence for a moment. You waited.
"Any questions?" the maknae asked, voice challenging.
"Yes," you chuckled out, "I'll answer anything without hesitation. From the truth behind the robberies, to the marks I got in school last semester—" Jungkook laughed at that bit, so you continued, "—to Jae and blah blah."
"I'm good for that," Jungkook sang out, standing back onto his feet as he had black sweats in his hands.

"Alright..." you trailed off, timing yourself before cutely bringing the matter upfront again, "Girlfriend, huh?" you repeated.
Jungkook smiled at your tone of voice.
"Yes," he said, voice assertive and proud.
"Ooo," you chuckled out, loving that there was no shy kick to his answer.
"Is it okay if I introduce myself as your boyfriend?" Jungkook asked, voice playful beyond belief.
You laughed, trying not to stereotypically roll around in excitement on your bed. Instead, you mapped out patterns on the ceiling.
"No."
"What?"
"JUST KIDDING," you sang out, laughing hysterically before doing what was stereotypical.
You rolled. You rolled like a buffalo (a/n: I can't help it, exo is playing lmao).
"You're trouble," Jungkook laughed out, shaking at his head before putting you back on speaker phone.
"Yup," you cutely whined out, "but now you're stuck with me."
Jungkook side-smiled at that. Moving to zip away from his leather pants, he moved his fingers a little slowly when feeling the fabric loosen around his lips. Deep in thought for a quick second, Jungkook took hold of the phone which was on speaker for a second.
"One second," he murmured.
"Take your time," you sighed out, smiling like an oblivious idiot.
There was a lot of shuffling, but you didn't think much of it.
Jungkook licked his bottom lip a bit, smiling a little as he hesitantly moved his grey shirt up towards his upper chest. Seeing his toned torso exposed, he didn't pay much attention to the pants that were slowly leaning down over his underwear that was peeking out. Torso and the curves of his hip bones in view, Jungkook managed to get a bit of his face into the picture while taking on in such a position for the first time.
Moving his hands away from his shirt that instantly feel back down, he pursed his lips before sending you the picture. He waited as it delivered, a small shy smile on his face when there was a surprised reaction on the other end.
"Golden maknae!" you chimed, laughing before gawking more at the picture sent, "That caught me off guard for a second."
There was silence, a long one. Jungkook could practically hear you swooning from the other end. He chuckled, ears growing red for other reasons now.
"I know it's nothing big but I thought you could use something while I'm gone too," he nervously let out, nibbling down at his bottom lip as he stared at his toes.
"Oh no," you chimed, distracted as you were still staring at the picture, "I'm sure you're big."
Jungkook's brows purely furrowed at that.
"Pardon?"
"Nothing," you quickly added, laughing instantly before throwing out little kissing noises through the phone, "Thank you for the treat."
"Same goes to you," he mumbled gently, grinning on the other line as he moved from one leg to the other.
"Now that I've picked your bones a little," you lightly murmured yourself, "You mister should really start heading off to bed now. I can't imagine how tiring it must be to be walking about after a long concert."
Jungkook smiled softer when hearing the genuine concern in your words.
"Ye, I'll uh," Jungkook moved his eyes around his room for a moment. Eyes freezing over by the door, his grip on his phone tightened a little. "I'll call you tomorrow," he quickly spoke out, eyes wide over what he saw at his bedroom door.
"Okay..." You bit your lip a little before slowly letting out your final words, "Bye boyfriend."
Jungkook laughed but it was...scared?
You didn't notice however, too lost in your own world of happiness as you clicked the phone call to be over. Suppressing the urge to move around and squeal, instead, you chose to get up and rush down and around the hallways of your home.
Jungkook let the phone fall away from his ear as he instantly moved it to his side. Smiling nervously, the maknae tried to hide the fact that the sudden realization earlier hadn't scared him at all.
"Hello, hyung," Jungkook said squeakily, eyeing down an amused Namjoon who stood at the opened bedroom door.
Namjoon didn't say anything, nor did he move from his spot. Instead, the man cocked his brows, allowing them to jump once. His smirk was growing when collecting his thoughts.
"H-How long have you been standing there?" Jungkook asked, begging to all entities that it was near the end of your conversation with him.
Namjoon didn't say anything...just a slightly creepy smirking statue remained of the man's exterior.
Jungkook gulped.
"Hyung?"
Nothing.
Jungkook waited, palms starting to sweat.
"So," Namjoon finally spoke out, grin still present, "You get a picture back?"
Jungkook laughed awkwardly, but on the inside, on the inside the maknae was painfully embarrassed.
"No," Jungkook squeaked out.
"Sure, you didn't," Namjoon popped out, knowing the lies from the truth.
-
"Sure, you didn't."
"I really didn't," Jae said, shrugging as he sat with his tux on, managing to fix at his cufflinks, the man stared over at the other dashing man before him. "I wasn't focusing on ruining her life. I was just doing what was being told for me to do."
All the men and women in the smaller room were strolling about, pushing in weapons and belongings into their beautiful outfits. All of them were getting prepared for the huge mission at hand, one that couldn't be towed around with at all costs. This dealt with higher powers, people with loads of money they probably bathed in on a regular. If done right, Jae and his team, along with the one's behind Helic...all would be beyond happy.
Jae eyed over Helic's suit. His eyes moved over the navy-blue tux for a moment. The colour reminding him so much of you in that one instant.
"Knowing it was Y/N? I told you to take care of her not allow her to borrow money from you," Helic asked, anger brewing internally as his voice grew higher.
"Well you were the one telling me to have the ones borrowing work as a payment back," Jae retorted.
Helic's eyes shut at that. Controlling his anger, the man took in a long breath of air. "I have said that, that too because money is important for all of us in the business...but come one Jae. This was Y/N...how could y—"
"She still borrowed," Jae stated, standing to his feet, "Just because she's your sister and my ex does not mean she's an exception. Plus, in my defence, I didn't exactly know I was talking to you this entire time...if I did, maybe I would've mentioned a name."
Jae grinned when Helic's jaw clenched.
It took a long while. But Helic swallowed up his anger as he wanted one thing clear and in the open. He wanted answers.
"Why did Y/N borrow money from you?"
Jae licked his bottom lip, hands moving into the pockets of his pants as he smugly smirked.
"You don't know?"
"No," Helic snapped, "I manage greater things that paying attention to detail for client building. I have better things to do."
Jae smirked larger and he knew the expression was probably driving Helic insane. Knowing for a fact that with this next information, Helic would fall in more anger and maybe sadness, Jae found amusement. There was something about seeing a 'dead man' upset that made Jae want to laugh.
"Y/N borrowed money from me because of you," Jae popped out easily, wanting to snort when seeing how Helic's face fell in puzzlement, "...She borrowed for you...because she loves you."
"What does that even mean?" Helic asked, brows deep and forehead crinkled.
