《Legends Never Die》XV

It's been almost two months since dad revealed that he was Iron man. Alot has changed since then.

He's become , a little more reckless as he goes out to have ' the time of his prime life ' as he likes to say, as I stay at home and continue my research papers. I had already graduated from MIT and gone through courses in bio engineering as well in my free time, so now I have literally nothing to do.

I don't want to be an alcoholic like dad, and don't actually have any interest in business like dad wants me to be. Says I'm his 'legacy' or whatever. Sure, when my time comes I will take on the mantle of Stark Industries, but I just want to live right now, without any burden of those pesky , pot-bellied men Dad has in his company as his managers.

I took up ballet , to pass my time. But soon got bored of it and left. I remember taking up Archery, got a year into it, but soon enough Dad got a hold of me, said it was dangerous and all, so I left that too. I guess I'm a quitter after all.

Right now, as I mentioned before, I was in my room – my art room specifically – when I heard a slight noise. Thinking it was dad, I just ignored it and kept going on. If there is anything in this world that I love more than Dad or Pepper, it's art. Specifically , making art. That sounds wierd.

It was a Iron man drawing, one I was thinking about for a long time. It was basically the head piece , with more abstract lines then before. I was thinking to give it to him on christmas. I gave him a car last year, and a mug the year before. Yeah, the transition was huge , I get it. But the best gift was presenting to hi my MIT degree , proof that I graduated a year before him. He had pouted a bit, but then hugged me and congratulated me .

He's a sore loser, although.

My drawing was finished in the next five minutes, and as my hands were still stained in paint, I got out of my room to go to the kitchen on the floor.

Whistling, I washed my hands, when suddenly I was grabbed from behind . The water still running , I screamed, the sound muffled , as I was being choked by the intruder. He was wearing all black, had long shoulder length hair, and a very weird metal arm with a star on it. I thrashed around frantically, trying to hit anything which came into contact with my limbs as the area around my eyes started to turn black. I was slowly loosing consciousness , as my thrashing started slowing. My eyes started closing when I heard a noise.

The man too whipped his head in the direction of the noise and he stopped choking me, releasing me from his tight grip. I greedily sucked in air and as I clutched my neck, shuffling away from the assailant as I saw him fleeing. I dropped down on the floor , breathing heavily.

What just happened? Why did someone try to kill me?

It couldn't be because I'm Iron man's daughter, could it ? Because then they would have attacked dad also, but he was targeting me only, I just don't know why.

"Baby? Baby girl, why are you on the floor?" Dad said as he came into the kitchen. His eyes widened when he saw me , eyes wide open and hands on my chest, breathing heavily. He dropped down to me and started asking questions rapidly.

"What happened ? Did someone try to choke you? Where is he? Why is the security system not working! I'm so sorry baby girl, I left you here all alone. Are you okay? Let's get you to the hospital. " He said as he tried grabbing me to pull me up . I made a noise of protest , weakly as I still couldn't speak properly – whether from the shock or the choke hold, I don't know – but I told him I didn't want to go to the hospital.

I just want my dad. Wherever he is, I'm safe.
