《Soul x Reader x Kid》Soul x Reader x Kid part 7

Sorry about how gruesome this chapter is and for the cliff hanger!
You stared down at your phone, biting your lip. You, Soul, and Kid had been the talk of the school for the last few days. Someone leaked you had a date with both of them in two consecutive days and all of the sudden there was massive tension between the three of you. It seemed as every time you checked your phone there was a message from each of them. The girls were either gossiping or trying to see if you were texting Soul or Kid by reading over your shoulder, and the boys were harassing Soul and Kid in the corner of the room. But I guess that didn't stop them from texting you. Your phone was beeping like a smoke detector in a room filled with fire.
No teachers for whatever reason. The class was halfway done, and no sign of them. Of ANY of them, that is. Athena (Who you were starting to be-friend) texted you saying that neither her or Fyre had teachers in the class, and asked if they had any in theirs. She said she was going to text her friend Amika, then get back to you. Amika confirmed it- none of the teachers were in their classes.
"Black*Star and Tsubaki had the right idea, Davis. We should've gotten an assignment and ditched class." You say, turning to Davis who was doodling in his notebook.
"Yeah." He nods, drawing a thumbs up sign in his book.
As the class reaches an end, very few people remained in class. They all had run off to the snack machines, or somewhere else, making up excuses of "I need to use the bathroom," or "I'm gonna die of thirst. Hitting the snack machine. Anybody coming?" and with this, four or five people would stand saying they too had to use this resource and leave. But they didn't come back.
When the bell finally ran, you and Davis slid out of your seats. Your next class was a special weapon and meister bonding one, positioned at the opposite side of the school. But you and Davis hadn't gotten very far when you heard a scream outside the school. All of the weapons on instinct turned and the meisters quickly caught them in sync. To not waste time and investigate, Davis held you tightly to inform you to stay as a double bladed sword. But Davis staggered when he reached the entrance.
A massive pool of blood sat, with the corpses of three girls and two boys from EAT lying on the ground dead. Each of them had their eyes scratched out, and a strange symbol cut into their forehead. The symbol was a circle with an equally spaced plus sign in it. Outside of the blood pool, written in more blood, was a message. It read:

They are not the last. Nor are they the first.
Send an EAT child to me, and quench my thirst.
Send one to me and they will not continue to die,
Ignore this message and throw away their lives.
Death the Kid, who was riding Beezlebub waved everyone's attention to him. "Class Crescent Moon meeting in 5 minutes." And with that, he zoomed off. You tensed. Davis gently squeezed your handle, trying to offer comfort. You smile softly as he starts pushing through the crowd to get to class crescent moon. But your smile fades when you enter the room.
Everyone's arguing. At sometime on your way here, you had reached a deserted hallway and you changed back. You step closer to Davis. Watching them started to make you angry. They should be fighting whoever just murdered those students, not each other! You felt yourself become gathered up in your rage. Then Davis stepped slightly in front of you. You ddn't feel angry anymore. Davis turned and muttered in your ear "It's a charm. Casted by some witch, and it makes people angry for whatever possible reason."
You look carefully at him. "How do I .... stay calm?"
He smiles softly at you. "Don't look at the affected. Don't talk to them. Try to ignore them. Kid will stop them for good when he comes in."
Instead of looking around the room, You decided to look at Davis. He was very immune to this, as he showed no need to throw a hissy fit. When Kid walked in, it was as though everyone's worst enemy had walked in. They swarmed him, yelling mean things that they would never be able to take back.
He hit all of them forcefully on their collarbone, and they all blinked and joined a circle that you and Davis started. Soul steps gently against you and silently squeezes your hand. On any other day, This would have caused drama to stir up- "How's Kid going to react when he sees them holding hands?" Or whatever, but today no one spoke. Kid stood in the middle of the circle, and made sure he had everyone's attention before speaking.
"We have no choice. It's one of us or all of us." He began to say, turning around so he could speak to the other side of the circle. His eyes caught you and Soul holding hands and he sent a glare at Soul before continuing on his way. "Any ideas on how we decide this?"
You step forward, letting Soul's hand fall from yours. "I think I speak for all the weapons when I say that it is our job to protect our meisters, and that they should step out of he circle."

The weapons nodded, and the meisters looked stunned.
Maka stepped forward. "We should let the meisters bid their case with the weapon first. Give us that right."
Now it was time for the meisters to nod.
Kid sighed. "Each paring will have a minute to decide one person who will remain in the circle. Please have your decision final for the group."
You and Davis step away from the circle and against the wall.
"____, Please let me go." He looked into your eyes with his puppy dog ones.
You stared back into them with unwavering confidence. "I am a weapon. A weapon's duty is to protect the meister from life threatening situations. By letting you enter the circle without me, I have failed that. You will stay back Davis."
He bit his lip, but nodded. He hugged you gently. It had only been a few weeks, but Davis was truely your best friend.
As if the room had silently reached an agreement, everyone rejoined the circle. Kid called on a weapon pair, and they would state who would be staying.
"Black*Star and Tsubaki?"
"Black*Star is."
"Killik, Pot of Fire, and Pot of Thunder?"
"Pot of Fire is staying."
"Maka and Soul?"
"I am." Soul said. Maka silently stepped back.
"____ and Davis?"
"I am." Davis said stepping forward.
You changed your arm into a blade and placed it in front of Davis so he couldn't walk further any farther without looking away from Kid. "Idiot! That's not what we agreed on!" A couple of anxious looks were exchanged. A weapon never pulls a blade on their meister, as it's considered disrespectful.
When he didn't move, you spoke, your voice resembling that of an angry cat. "Did I make myself unclear? Step back from the circle Davis."
He staggered backwards. You let your arm turn back to normal and then fall to your side. The list goes on. Then, when only 10 of you remain, you play the game of elimination.
"I think the person should be at least 13." You say. Pot of Fire, and two other people step down. It's you, Soul, Kid, Ox, Jaqueline, and two meisters- one male and one female.
You shake your head at the group. "I stick with what I said earlier. All meisters should leave the circle. I give you all permission." They looked at each other, and then slowly backed away. You look. Kid is the only meister left, as Ox left as soon as you had given him permission to. Soul, Kid, Jaqueline and you.
Soul looks at kid. "We should let the two girls leave the circle- it's common courtesy."
You send him a harsh look. "Gender shouldn't matter in this. Jaqueline, feel free to leave, but I'm staying. I don't think that because I'm a girl I should have to leave."
Jaqueline stepped back and stood next to Kim. You met Soul and Kid's eyes. You could feel Davis' stare burning harshly into you, but you didn't say anything.
Kid bit his lip. "Let's take this matter outside."
You nodded, and followed him closely behind out the door. Soul followed you, and then shut the door.
While outside the room was quiet as you talked, inside the room was chaotic.
A couple of your friends were crying in the corner- and were being comforted by their partners. There was a lot of crying actually- most because their friends had been spared- others because they had know Soul, you, or Kid very well.
Davis stared at the door where he had just seen you walk through. Tsubaki and Black*Star walked up to him, but he didn't notice.
Maka, Liz and Patty also stared at the door. Each of them were thinking the same thing. Will my partner come back alive?
All of the sudden, you, Soul, and Kid came bursting through the door.
"Who is it?" A weapon girl cried.
You step forward and give an unconvincing smile. "It's this person's wish that it happens swiftly and anonymously, so for that purpose, we're going to keep quiet about who it is. Consider it their death wish, if you will."
A few people were nodding, others were talking in harsh tones to each other.
Ox stepped forward. "When will we know?"
You look at Soul and Kid. "We're expecting in the next 48 hours."
More questions were asked. Kid stepped forward. "We don't have time for questions! We must report to father!" You followed him and Soul out the door. You slam it shut, and walk through the halls.
Once in the death room, you three stop walking once your on the platform in front of Lord Death's mirror. He sits there waiting for you.
"Father," Kid says, addressing Lord Death. "We have chosen someone to sacrifice."
"I can see that. But just for clarification, who is it?"
You speak up. "It is ......."
