Louis took a seat at the breakfast table, licking his lips as he looked at the plate of waffles sat in front of him. Grabbing his knife and fork, he began eating, moaning loudly at the taste. Jade and Megan laughed, big shaking their head fondly. "So," Louis began, a mouthful of food still in his mouth. "What's the plan." He liked between the two girls for an answer.
"To finish breakfast and then get dressed." Jade smirked.
"Oh come on," Louis whined, taking another bite of his waffles. "It's the day, please just tell me what we are doing."
Megan shook her head. "Not yet." She stood from the table, taking her empty plate to the sink. "You'll find out soon enough. Now hurry, you only have an hour to get ready before we have to leave." Louis huffed playfully but carried on with no more protest- knowing that neither of the girls would give in.
Once Louis had finished his breakfast, the three of them split up to get ready. Jade gave Louis a strict dress code for both the morning and afternoon, telling him to bring the second outfit with him as they wouldn't be back home until the day was over.
So Louis rushed to his wardrobe, pulling the doors open and moving all of his clothes around inside to get a good look. "Casual and comfortable." He mumbled, still looking. He pulled through skirts and jeans before pulling out a jumpsuit he completely forgot he had.
He turned and held it up to his body in the mirror. "Hmm," he hummed, lifting up a leg. "Okay, yeah." He agreed with himself before laying it over his bed.
He walked to his desk, pulling open one of the draw which contained -some of- his make up. He applied primer and foundation before looking over at the colours of eyeshadow. He raised an eyebrow, looking back to the light pink and purple coloured clothing on the bed. He looked back to he draw before pulling out a simple black eyeliner. He created a wing on each of his eyes, he almost always nails his eyeliner and he was very glad when he looked in the mirror and saw they were perfect. He was very pleased with himself.
As Louis was doing his makeup, his mind wondered. He could hear the girls telling him to hurry up in the background but he ignored them, knowing he still had at least another half an hour.
He thought about tonight and how excited he was to see Gemma and Harry's parents again after so long. He missed Anne's cooking and the way Des would spit out jokes around the dinner table. He has missed the girly chats he had with Gemma, the chats which usually had Harry chasing her up the stairs, shouting about how what she had told Louis was all lies.
Louis chuckled thinking back. He missed the family and he hoped it wouldn't be awkward when he goes round later. He did one final layer of lipstick before he rubbed his lips together and nodded at himself in the mirror.
"Okay," he sighed, standing up and walking over to his bed. He stripped himself of the clothes he had previously changed into and stepped into the jumpsuit.
After struggling with the zip, Louis called for Jade, who reluctantly came in and done him up. "That's cute." She smiled, sat down on Louis' bed.
Louis checked his hair in the mirror for the third time since Jade walked in, before bending down to pick up his white converse. "Thanks, I got it a while ago and completely forgot it existed." Jade chuckled, watching her brother slip his feet into his shoes.

"Are you excited for today?" She asked.
"Uhh," Louis turned to her. "Nervous and excited, yes." They both laughed.
"You'll love it, I promise." Louis walked over to his sister and stood in front of her.
"All good?" Louis asked.
"All good." Jade confirmed, standing from the bed. "You've got your change of clothes yeah?" She asked, looking to Louis' bag.
"Yep," he popped his lips together, chucking the backpack over his shoulder. "All in here," he waved to the bag.
"Lets get Megan and go then." Jade looked down to her watch. "We are even running on schedule." The two walked out of the room and in to the living area, finding Megan picking up her keys from the table by the door.
"On time I see." Megan raised her eyebrows. "Proud of you Lou." Louis rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah. Can we go now?" He pouted and the girls shook their heads and laughed, walking towards the door. Louis picked up his coat and hung it over his arm.
"Come on then," Megan opened the door, holding as Jade and Louis walked through. "Lets get going!" She cheered, shutting the door and placing her keys in the bag. Jade cheered after her and it was then Louis turn to shake his head and laugh.
Jade had told Louis that the drive wouldn't be too long and the boy was very happy to hear that. He sat in the back of the car, fiddling with his phone, texting Harry every now and then. "Megan?" He asked, his voice sounding curious.
"Yeah?" She replied, quickly looking at the boy through her rear view mirror. "Whats up?"
"Have you heard from Luke?" Louis watched his friend, waiting for an answer. "He said he would drop by in the morning but he didn't and he hasn't texted me yet."
"Uh," Megan pulled a face which told Louis she was trying to figure a way to say something. "Yeah, yeah, I have." Megan paused and Louis raised an eyebrow at her.
"And do you know where he is?"
Megan nodded her head and pursed her lips. "Yeah, yeah I do." Louis rolled his eyes.
"Megan!" He whined, wanting an actual answer out of her.
"He's going to see you, don't worry." Jade turned to look at Louis as Megan explained.
"Just let the day play out." Jade said. "Everything will be just fine. And you'll see Luke, it's okay." She chuckled.
Louis pouted, looking back down at his phone. He searched his contacts until he found Luke's name and he began typing out a message.

He hit the send button before humming and locking his phone, placing it down on the seat next to him.
The journey didn't take much longer and they had arrived at their destination about half an hour after. According to the girls, they were even ten minutes early, to which Louis rolled his eyes at.
"So can you tell me now, what are we doing here?" Louis looked around the car park. In the far right he could see an old style looking building, but Jade had told him to close his eyes when they went past the sign, so what was in it, was still a mystery to Louis.
"Okay," Megan looked to Jade who nodded her head back at her. "So we are starting the day with something that you've always wanted to do. At the end of the week, after college on a Friday, well most days really, you whine about wanted to have a... a 'something' day." Megan held up four fingers- two on each hand- and acted as if they were quotation marks.
Jade carried on for her, "so we are starting off your day here."
Louis looked at them both confused. "I don't get it. What is the 'something'?" Louis copied Megan's actions with the quotation marks.
"Think." Megan chuckled. "What do you say you need when you come home from college most days? It's something you've never done."
Louis thinks for a second, turning around in his spot by the car to look back at the large building. "Huh!" Louis gasped. "Is it a spa?" He asked, excitement in his eyes. "Are we having the much needed pamper day that I always say I need?"
Megan clapped her hands. "There you go!" The Jade laughed.
"Why are they open on Christmas Eve?" He asked, a little confused.
"That doesn't matter," Jade laughed. "What matters is that it is, and you have a back massage waiting for you just inside of those doors."
Louis made a noise neither of the two girls could describe before he pulled them both into a tight hug, chanting "thank you's" into their ears.
"Right, come on then, you." Megan pressed the lock button on the car key before placing them in the coat pocket. "Let's get inside before we freeze and miss our appointments."
Louis nodded his head, agreeing and began the short walk to the spa building.
-
Louis thought he was in heaven. He came out of the massage room feeling like a completely new person. At least that's what he was telling Jade. She knew he was just over exaggerating but went along with it anyway.
"Best fifty minutes of my life." He concluded, smiling at Megan as she walked out of her changing room, back into her loose fitted trousers and t-shirt.
Louis was guided down the hallway by his friend and sister until they reached a doorway where an older man stood.
"Tomlinson?" He asked, his voice laced with a thick British accent.
"That's us," Jade nodded.
"If you would like to follow me." The man gave a nod of the head before walking into a large dining room.
Louis looked into the room, spotting a large rectangular table, but only three placemats laying on it. It clicked then that they were in a private room, suited only for them.
"This is your table." The grey haired man reached out an arm, showing them a table draped with a light pink table cloth. "I believe you wanted a place to be able to change?"
"Yeah, if that is okay." Megan asked.
"Of course." The man agreed, "the door there," the man pointed to a large wooden door at the end of the room, "is a dressing room, and inside there is a toilet. Feel free to use both." Louis took a step towards the man, so that he was no longer stood behind the girls, but inline with them.
Standing there, Louis was able to read the old mans name tag. William. Louis nodded to himself- the name suited him well.
"A waiter will be in soon with your chosen courses. If you need anything else don't be afraid to ask her." William walked around the table, pulling out the seats so that the three of them could sit. "Enjoy." He smiled, before walking- slowly- out of the room, the door closing behind him.
"So," Louis asked looking between the two girls. "What's this then?" Megan and Jade both laughed.
"We thought, since you're having dinner with Harry, we would have a light lunch rather than a heavy one. Megan said that you liked the idea of an afternoon tea sort of thing? So we have cute little sandwiches and cakes ordered."
"Don't worry, we made sure that they put mayo in the ham ones." Louis chuckled, ever since he was a child, he could never eat a ham sandwich without mayonnaise in it.
"Thank you." He sighed. "Both of you. This was such an amazing idea, you've both really thought about it, about me. I really appreciate it. And I'm having the best day I could."
"Good." Jade smiled.
"Now it's not over quite yet, you need to go and get changed into your second outfit before the food comes out." Megan pointed to Louis bag and then the door to the dressing room and toilet.
"Yeah, okay." Louis stood from the table. "What about you two? Where are you going to change?"
"Oh," Megan looked to Jade then back to Louis. "I saw some toilets down the hall, we'll just get dressed in there, don't worry."
Louis squinted his eyes suspiciously. "Okay.." he dragged out the word. Unsure on whether to believe her or not. Either way, Louis just decided to let it go and walked to the room at the end to get ready.
He stood inside the slightly smaller room, switching the light on and pulling the door closed- making sure to pull the lock across afterwards.
He huffed, walking to the white dressing table which was pushed against the wall on the right side of the room. Louis placed his bag down on top, unzipping the zip and pulling out the soft flowing fabric of the burgundy dress.
It was the dress that Megan had brought him a couple of months back but he hadn't had a chance to wear it and he really couldn't wait to slip it on.
Louis struggled for a good five minutes, trying to get the zip down on the jumpsuit- he really regretted not asking one of the girls to help him first. But once he managed to (finally) shuffle out of it, Louis pulled the light fabric of the dress over his shoulders and down his body.
The sleeves hung from his shoulders, the flare giving him complete freedom to move them however he wanted. The hem of the dress fell mid-thigh, the lace trim going around the edge giving the dress the only bit of detail it needed.
Louis looked at himself in the mirror, turning, watching the way the dress moved before smiling. All he needed to do now was add to his makeup.
"Hmm," Louis looked over his face in the dressing table mirror, deciding what he was going to change.
After debating wether or not his should just start over or not, Louis decided to keep the same eye makeup- simple but effective. However, he reapplied his foundation and re-contoured his cheek bones and he also added a dark red lipstick.
He did one last smack of his lips before popping the lid back onto the cosmetic and placed it back in his bag. "Okay," he sighed, picking up the backpack and slinging it over one shoulder.
Louis walked towards the door he had walked in through, turning off the lights to the room before pushing down on the handle and walking into the room he was in before.
"Surprise!"
The room was now filled with familiar faces and Louis wish he had taken off his makeup rather than reapplied. He had dropped his bag and his hands had flew to his mouth- to disguise the small scream that followed.
Louis' eye brimmed with tears, happy tears. "No," Louis laughed fanning his face, "I can't cry," the small crowed laughed, Jade walking forward to help Louis.
She bent down, picking up his bag before turning back to her brother. "So, what do you think?" Louis looked to her before looking over at his friends.
"I can't believe it. Thank you." He looked back to his sister who opened his arm for him. Louis took a few steps forward, accepting the embrace, the smile not leaving his face.
Megan came up to him next, pulling him in and squeezing the boy as tight as she could. She whispered to him, "I love you Lou, happy birthday." Louis closed his eyes, still smiling.
"Thank you. And you know I love you too."
Louis spent the next half an hour saying his greetings and thank you's to the people that came. He was happy to see some of the people he had gone to school with as well as people he had classes with in college. It was only when he had said hello to everyone when he noticed a drum kit in the car corner of the room.
Louis turned to see if he could find Megan anywhere but the entrance doors to the room opened and his questions had been answered. Luke walked into the room, guitar around his neck, followed by Calum, Michael and finally, Ashton.
Louis' mouth broke into a smile and a small squeal left his mouth at the sign of his best friend. He walked quickly towards them.
"Happy birthday!" Luke laughed, pulling his friend into a hug.
"Are you guys preforming?!" Luke could hear the excitement in Louis' voice. "Oh, and thank you." Louis laughed.
"We are indeed. We know you like to watch us play so we thought it'd be cool to have your own little concert." Ashton said, walking forward.
"When are you going to start?" Louis asked, looking over all four of them, waiting for an answer.
"Now, I think. We just had to wait for the microphones to be brought in and then for Jade to give everyone the signal to sit at the table." Luke pointed to the table Louis had first seen when he walked into the room and he noticed that there were now more placemats placed around, one for each chair.
He noticed people starting to take their seats and then spotted Jade, ushering him over. "I guess that's the signal," Louis laughed. "Good luck." Louis smiled to the boys before walking over to the table and taking the seat at the head of the table, which Megan had said was specifically for him and him only.
Once the band was set up, and everybody else was seated, Luke spoke into his microphone.
"Uh, okay. Hi everyone, as most of you know, we are Five Seconds of Summer." Louis gave a small cheer for his friends, causing Luke to laugh. "Right. We are here to preform for the birthday boy, himself. Louis has been spending a lot of time at our band practices lately, and as much as we may love having him there, he is the reason for our lack of practice." Louis smiled back at him, his cheeks a soft pink colour as he mouthed a quick "sorry".
"But anyway." Luke laughed. "Hope you've had a great day Lou, you deserve it." Luke looked back to Ashton who nodded his head. He lifted up his drum sticks, hitting them together counting from one to four, and the first song had started.
-
"Thank you for coming," Louis smiled at the short blond haired girl in front of him, who he knew as Ella.
"It was no problem, happy birthday again, enjoy the rest of the day!" She leaned forward and gave Louis a hug, which he gratefully returned.
"I shall, thank you!" She was one of the last people to leave other than the boys, Megan and Jade.
Louis had been saying good bye to his guests for the past half an hour and he was glad when he was finally able to sit down.
"Don't get too comfortable, you have to bag up your presents." Jade called from across the room.
"Ugh," Louis groaned. "Just give me a minute. I'm so tired." He placed his elbows on the table, resting his face in his hands as he watched his remaining friends pack up the room.
"What time is Harry picking you up?" Luke asked, walking up behind Megan, placing a napkin into the black bag she had in her hands.
Louis scrunched his eyebrows. "Umm, I'm not sure actually. I'll text him in a second and find out what's going on." Luke nodded his head, going back to tidying up.
Louis eventually got up and began helping the others pack things up. He placed each of his presents in to bags which Calum then took to Megan's car. And at half past three, they were all cleaned up and in their cars on their way back to Louis' and Megan's flat.
Louis had texted Harry and the younger boy had replied saying that he would be picking Louis up at half five, so Louis had some time to open his presents and get ready for the meal.
