Sun's POV
We made it to the Vast Poni Canyon, where plenty of trainers were. Me and Lillie trekked our way through the area together, side by side. On our little adventure, Lillie really showed me how much she changed. She was able to cross the bridge on her own, as well as went through the caves herself. I was proud of her. Lillie was making such amazing progress and she herself was just so amazing. I just couldn't get enough of watching her be amazing and grow.
Eventually, the sun began to set and we decided to set up camp at a clear, isolated area in the canyon. I had brought an extra sleeping bag in case something like this had happened.
The canyon was extremely cold at night, I could see my breath every time I exhaled.
I set up our sleeping bags next to each other and started the fire near us for warmth.
"It's really cold, huh? I didn't prepare very well..." Lillie said, rubbing her arms for warmth.
"It's fine! I've got everything covered." I said, taking out some sandwiches I had bought at the cafe a while ago.
I handed Lillie half of one and we ate by the fire.
We both sat next to each other, pretty close. It was kind of romantic, actually. Just the two of us under the stars, next to a campfire.
"This is nice." Lillie said, looking up at the stars.
"Yeah. The sky looks amazing." I said. We stared up together for a while, just enjoying each other's company.
"Lillie." I said to her.
"Uh, yes, Sun?" Lillie said.
"I'm glad I met you." I returned.
"O-Oh! T-Thank you..." Lillie replied.
"I... I'm glad I met you, too." She finished. I turned over to her to see her smiling, with her eyes glimmering in the moonlight
Eventually we both snugged into our sleeping bags. Lillie untied her ponytail so it wouldn't bother her while she slept. We scooted really close to help warm each other up. Being so close made my heart pound like crazy.
Lillie soon began to doze off, as did I.
Though, in my sleep drunken state, I saw Lillie's hand hanging out of her sleeping bag. As I fell asleep, I grabbed her hand.
I don't know what I was thinking...
Lillie's POV
I was in a dream where I was with Sun.
We were in Melemele Meadow, where all the flowers were pink instead of yellow.
He grabbed my hand and led me into the field of flowers, where we danced and hugged a lot.
The pink petals everywhere made everything even more romantic.
Soon we finished and sat down, still holding hands with each other. His hand felt so warm and gentle. It felt so real.
We slowly leaned into each other, our faces getting closer and closer. It was almost like we were about to kiss.
Right before our lips met, I woke up.

I could see the sun rising in the distance, bringing warmth to my face. I looked at Sun to see him still asleep, but as I looked closer, I realized that we were holding hands.
"Ah!" I exclaimed, surprised. I quickly pulled away my hand as I felt my face get red hot.
Was... Was my dream... Was that feeling real?
Sun woke up from my initial yelp and stood up.
"Lillie? Is everything alright?" Sun said, rubbing his eyes.
"O-Oh! I-It's nothing, a Pokemon j-just made me jump, that's all!" I said quickly. Sun looked a little confused
"Well, we should get going if we want to make it to the Altar by noon." Sun said, getting out of his bag.
"Y-Yes, lets get going!" I said, getting up and re-tying my ponytail.
Sun's POV
We eventually made it to the Altar of the Sunne by going through and completing the Dragon-Type trial against a Totem Kommo-o. Hapu showed up and escorted Lillie through the trial site.
We were met with a huge staircase, and at the top was a large stone structure with a symbol of the Sun on it. Hapu looked at the both of us standing there
"Look at the two of you. I think this might just work out." She said in a smug grin. Me and Lillie's conversation stopped as Hapu pointed out how well we were getting along. We both blushed a little bit before heading up to the huge staircase. At the top we did exactly as we were told.
We both stood on opposing pedestals and played the flutes. Me, the Sun Flute, and Lillie, the Moon Flute. My fingers moved by themselves, like something else was guiding them. As we played, it felt as though me and Lillie were in sync. Like we were feeling the exact same things. We felt exactly the same. We felt each others determination, each other's strengths, and each other's feelings for... each other?
Just then, The huge stone structure opened up, and Lillie's bag flew to the beam of light it shot out. There, Nebby flew out of her bag and into the light and transformed into the legendary Pokemon, Solgaleo! We showed our love to Nebby, and readied to go into Ultra Space but before we could, a wormhole opened above us, with Lusamine and Guzma falling out of it. Both of them seemingly exhausted, telling us to run.
Just then a huge black figure crawled through the wormhole, and it went after Nebby. Both Nebby and the creature battled each other until it triumphed over Nebby, and attaching itself to it like a parasite. It then flew away, back into the hole it came from, while opening many more wormholes in the process. As soon as it left the world went dark, as if the Sun was blocked. The Ultra Recon Squad appeared and explained the threat of Necrozma and taking the world's light. We all talked and planned about taking Solgaleo back. The Recon Squad offered me a ride through to their world, where Necrozma resides, to defeat it and save Alola.. Lusamine looked much less... Scary. Like she had come to accept what's happened, and what's going to happen.

I hopped onto their Lunala with my new Recon Squad gear.
"Sun..." Lillie said. She had a worried look on her face.
"Yeah?" I responded.
"Please... Stay safe... And come back!" She said.
I nodded, and headed off into the wormhole.
Lillie's POV
I watched as Sun left into the wormhole into a completely unknown world. Standing near me was my mother, Lusamine, Guzma, who was sitting on the stairs far away now, and the Ultra Recon Squad, who were what looked like monitoring Sun's progress.
"You would worry even for Necrozma? You are too kind, Lillie. Far too kind. That is why you took Cosmog as well, isn't it? You foolish, sweet child..." Mother said, smiling. But the smile on her face was not of impure intent. It was... Her warm smile. Had something happened since we departed?
"And to think a Trainer who Lillie befriended would become the one to battle Necrozma..." She muttered under her breath. She thought for a little while, adding silence to the conversation.
"Lillie... It seems that you were right. Right to feel hurt by the suffering of Pokémon. Right to take Cosmog away..." She said. Was mother... Apologizing?
"Lillie... I'm sorry. Going into Ultra Space and being defeated by Necrozma has made me realize... What a horrible mother I've been. From forcing you to wear thing you never wanted to.... From never giving you or Gladion the time of day just to say hello... I'm... Sorry." She said. Her apology seemed genuine. Like she's had a change of heart.
"Oh, Mother! It's, It's fine! I forgive you for everything... I'm just so glad that you're still alive... I... I don't know what I would've done if you never came back... Not after father..." I replied. I went to her and hugged her so tight, and she did the same. I felt her tears falling onto my hair as we hugged for longer.
She pulled our hug apart, wiping her tears.
"Thank you, Lillie..." She said, still rubbing her eyes. Who knew, it would be me comforting my mother?
She smiled at me with a warm and caring smile, like she did all those years ago. It felt nice to have my mother back.
We continued to talk with each other while Sun was gone, with mother putting out the occasional apology.
"Now, lets talk about you and Sun." Mother said.
"M-Me and S-Sun?!" I blurted out.
"Mhm. You like him a lot, don't you?" She said, smiling.
"I-I don't!" I said, turning away to hide my blush.
"Heheh, you can't fool your own mother, Lillie. I can tell. I can see how you look at him with those eyes." Mother said, giggling.
I suppose I shouldn't hide such a thing from my mother...
"How... When did you notice?" I ask, quietly.
"Every since he came to, ehm, save you, from the Aether Paradise. Both of your eyes lit up in a way when you saw each other that can't be anything else other than... Love..." She said
"B-Both of us?! You mean, Sun too?" I said, turning back to her.
"Mhm, it was just like with me and Mohn..." She said, kind of sadly.
"Sun's a good trainer, as well as a nice person. He really cares about you, too. I wouldn't mind him being my son in-law..."
"S-Son in-law?! L-Like me and him being m-married?!" I said. My mother laughed at my reaction.
"Lillie... You've grown so much. I want to spend time with you, not as mother and daughter, but as equals. Come to the Aether Paradise. Plenty of Pokemon could use some of that kindness you have right about now." Mother said.
"M-Me? Help the Pokemon?" I asked. My mother nodded.
"I... I'll take you up on that. Sun is about to complete his challenge soon, so I might as well."
We talked more about Sun and other things as we waited, and soon, a wormhole opened up in front of us, with Sun riding out on Solgaleo. I ran to him and hugged him. He seemed surprised at first, but embraced the hug soon enough. The hug felt so good... So warm and cozy. The light returned as we hugged.
"I'm glad to see that you're alright, Lillie. It get's kind of lonely in those wormholes, heheh." He smiled.
"I'm glad you're alright." I said, holding the warm hug. I let go of the hug after a few seconds.
"With its light stolen from it, Cosmog is... No, Solgaleo is weak. We will take it back to Paradise to care for it. Lillie, you will help also." Mother said, smiling at me.
"Of course I will!" I responded. I was about to walk off before mother gestured me towards Sun, winking at me.
"Um...Sun? I know I couldn't do anything to really help, but I was always on your side. You and your Pokemon's side. I got the chance to finally talk with my mother... About a lot of things, really. And I think I understand a little better now. Sun. You saved Necrozma and the people of that world...and all of us, too. You gave us all the chance to smile again." I said, and hugged him again. He smelled really nice, too. I let go of him and looked at him with a smile.
"I'm going to go back to Paradise for a bit to help Nebby recover, but... Sun! Do your best on your island challenge!" I said. I then walked off and waved a little bit.
"Good luck with Nebby! I'll do my best!" Sun called out as I waved goodbye.
