Y/n's Pov

I stood by Melty as I watched the timer in my corner slowly count down, 5 minutes remaining before the start of the 3rd wave. I looked over the the equipment I had equipped, making sure everything would be fine. I had [*spiked* Meteor chains] with [Vampiric spade] on the end. I planned on changing my armor but I wouldn't be able to do that while at the castle, without gathering suspicion about where I got the armor so I only had my cloak with a left arm guard and knee padding. She looked at me and frowned "are you sure you will be okay with so little armor? I could ask to have some guards armor brought to you" I shook my head "no, this will be fine. Besides, the guard armor here is flimsy and restricts movement too much for my style of fighting" Melty nodded slowly before looking down, standing silently for a while before speaking again. "good luck out there.. and be careful." I nodded and smiled at her "You dont have to worry about me Princess Melty, I am not yet your official companion." she huffed and glared at me, her cheeks puffed out "I can worry about my friend can't I?" "hmm. yeah, you are allowed to worry about friends. Don't worry too much about your soon to be personal guard to much though, it indicates that you don't think me strong enough" She nodded slowly and sighed "just.... ugh. Don't get hurt out there dummy." I watched as the timer started reaching zero "don't worry, I only know of 2 things that can hurt me. and neither can happen during this wave" a circle of light started around me as the counter passed bellow 10. I held the end of my weapon ready and smiled "see you soon" and with that, I was teleported away.

I looked around at the area I was sent to, the sky was already red wiht the rifts opened up in the sky, dropping monsters down upon a nearby village. In the distance there was a flying ship, no doubt the boss of the wave this time. The three stooge heroes ran off in the direction of the ship, completely ignoring the Village that was under attack. I sighed and looked over at Naofumi as he began ordering a group of knights to go help evacuate the village. Naofumi looked over at me and frowned, I nodded to him and took off towards the village, noticing Rifana following after me. I slowed a bit so She could catch up to me before going up to the pace she was running at. "Master Y/n, where have you been?" "you don't need to worry about that right now, focus on evacuating the villagers safely, stick with Raphtalia since you work better with her. I don't want to risk hitting you with a stray strike" She nodded and split off from her, heading towards the group Raphtalia was in. I looked ahead and let my chain unravel slightly before launching the spade at the end ahead of me, stabbing right through a [Lizardman] then pulling on the chain to launch myself forward and over it, wrapping the chain around it's neck on my way by before pulling on the chain, sending the now dead monster into small squad of [Skeleton Soldiers], breaking them apart.

The village evacuation took 3 hours to complete, but the wave was still not over. I frowned and followed the sound of fighting to rejoin with Naofumi and the others. "Naofumi. We need to go find out what those idiots are doing that is taking so long." Naofumi nodded and looked over at the knights and an old lady that seemed to be easily taking out the monsters. "right, we will leave defending the village to them, Filo, Raphtalia, Rifana, let's go" The three nodded and we headed off towards the flying ship. When we got there we saw the Bow hero taking shots at the ship with his party. Naofumi questioned him before having Filo take us up onto the ship to see the other 2 heroes fighting different Mini bosses without coordinating will at all. They argued with each other over which should be fought first, before Naofumi interrupted them and started figuring out how to actually summon the boss of the wave. Once the [Soul Eater] had appeared, the heroes began launching lightning attacks at it, barely chipping away at the health. Naofumi was getting ready to activate his rage shield, but I jumped down next to him and put a hand on his shoulder. He looked at me, frowning "What?" "you know the effect of activating the cursed shield. If you are going to use that shield, take the ring." Naofumi stared at me "what happens if you lose control again" I chuckled and took the ring off my finger, putting it in his palm "It's gonna take a lot more than some curses to take control of me a second time." Naofumi nodded slowly and put the ring of his hand before activating his rage shield. He began to head to fighting the {Soul Eater], using a combo skill. I wasn't able to watch as Notifications flashed in front of my display, curses activating and trying to pry control over me again, however one warning stood out to me. [Warning!: personality synchronized. Sin Series: Pride is at full synchronization, drawback removed. personality will begin permanent symbiosis]. Before I could do anything, the other notifications disappeared, leaving that one to take up my vision before I blanked out.

[Sin of Pride] unlocked. [Sin of Pride] activated automatically. [Spirit of Pride: Auto pilot activated]

Spirit of Pride's Pov

I opened my eyes as The hero of the Shield activated [Iron Maiden] to kill the [Soul Eater]. He deactivated his cursed shield and looked at me, taking the ring off and handing it over to me. I set the ring in my pocket, which caused him to flinch back and raise his shield up and glare at me "Who are you." Filo looked at him "Master? It's Y/n, why are you holding your shield up?" Naofumi kept glaring at me "Y/n would have put the ring back on, this is probably one of his curses in control" The other heroes looked over and raised their weapons at me. The sword hero stared at me "A curse is controlling him?" I chuckled and shook my head "It isn't me you should be worrying about at the current time, there is still one more [Soul Eater] waiting to be fought." The heroes immediately turned around and watched as another [Soul Eater] immerged from the ship, smirking down at them. I looked up at another presence I sensed, A woman holding 2 fans in her hand. She looked at me and smirked before launching an attack that killed the [Soul Eater]. She jumped down from where she stood and closed her fans "i have to say, this is rather disappointing. It seems only 2 people here are worthy of the title of hero" Glass looked at Naofumi "tell me, what is your name Hero." Naofumi frowned "normally you introduce yourself before asking for someone's name" Glass smiled "Forgive my rudeness. I am called Glass, you may consider me an enemy" The other heroes held up their weapons "enemy?" Naofumi frowned more "I'm Naofumi" Glass nodded and unfolded her fans again "and what of the other hero." The spear hero thought she was talking to him and began speaking up "I am-" He was immediately cut off by a quick attack from Glass "I was not talking to you." She looked at me and pointed her fan towards me "You. what is your name Hero." I shook my head and lifted up my chains as they changed into my chains. [Chains of Pride]. "I am no hero Miss Glass, but for now, I am known as Pride." Glass nodded and got into a pose "Very well. . . Pride. Naofumi. Let us begin the true fight of this wave."

Glass prepared to attack but was interrupted by the three heroes launching Meteor attacks at her, which were easily deflected by her. "Simple servants should stay out of important fights" the bow hero immediately yelled out "We are not Servants!" before they could try attacking again, Glass launched an attack that knocked all of them to the ground except for Me and the Shield hero. The Shield hero was preparing to fight, but I stepped in front of him "Allow me to have the spar Sir Hero." He stared at me before frowning "are you sure about that, she appears to be stronger than anyone here." I chuckled and looked at Glass. "I'm sure, I've been waiting for a good fight for a while." Glass looked at me and smirked "you seem arrogant, allow me to get rid of that for you." She waved her fans and launched projectiles at me, which I waved my chains to destroy all them "you have one thing wrong. I am not arrogant. I am Prideful." I pulled the chain back into my hand and used [Quick step] to get in front of her before using one of my weakest attack skills, [Pride's fist] a simple punch. The attack hit her in the stomach and launched her backwards, crashing into the mast of the ship. She stood up and glared at me "it seems I've underestimated you." I nodded and wrapped my chains around my arm "indeed you have, do you wish to continue warming up, or would you rather leave before your time is up?" She stared at me for a moment before smirking "oh my, it seems I wont be winning this one. I shall take my retreat, may our next battle be on even grounds." She closed her fans and jumped off the ship, disappearing back to her world. I looked at a notification in my vision and smiled "It would seem my own time is up now. I look forward to the beginning of a new pride. " I took the ring out of my pocket and slipped it on, closing my eyes as I fade from existence.

Y/n's pov

When my vision returned, I found myself standing on the flying ship as the sky changed back to normal, suddenly I felt the ship start shaking as he began falling down towards the ground. I quickly braced myself as the ship crashed down into the cliffs below, roughly skidding to a stop next to the corpse of the [Soul Eater]. Once movement stopped, I sat down on the ground, letting out a sigh as a notifications appeared. [Permanent Symbiosis with Spirit of Pride completed] [Pride Series unlocked] [Title earned: Pride] [Title earned: Sin] [Title earned: Princess's protector]. I sighed and looked over at Naofumi, he was feeding a part of the [Soul Eater] to his shield and checking up on the people. I frowned as another notification appeared on my screen [you have been removed from Shield hero Naofumi's party]. I looked at Naofumi as he walked away, then felt a hand on my back. I looked over and saw the Sword hero standing there with the other two heroes behind him. "That was some pretty good fighting you did there, If you are looking for a party to join, my party is open to you" I shook my head "The offer is tempting, but I'd rather not." he frowned but nodded, taking his hand off my shoulder.

Suddenly Malty walked out from behind Motoyasu and walked over to me, smirking with her hands on her hips "If you aren't going to be joining the Sword hero's party, Then allow me to invite you to the amazing Spear hero, Motoyasu's party." I stared at her with a blank face "ah, Forgive me princess, but I wont be joining the Spear hero's party. nor would I join the Bow hero's party." Malty's eyebrow twitched as she put up a fake smile and closed her eyes "I believe you aren't aware of your place here. as you know I am the princess of Melromarc, you have no right to refuse joining the Spear hero" I continued to stare blankly "I cannot, and will not join the Spear hero's party. You being a princess has no change in that. I am already the crowned princess's personal guard and companion in travel, a much more important job then being another boy for you to boss around" Malty grit her teeth and glared at me "You little-" "calm down, that isn't a face very becoming of a princess." she continued to glare at me as I walked away from them, over to the [Soul Eater] corpse. I took the spade at the end of my chain and cut away a few pieces of it's skin, putting it in my bag to use later. After that I began the walk back to the capital, Since I didn't want to use any hero exclusive things like teleporting to a city in front of the heroes or Malty. As I walked past the village, I saw Naofumi getting approached by the captain of the royal guards. That meant that the king had called him, which might lead to more trouble soon. I sighed and kept walking, heading to the capital using skills to increase speed as well as using [Quick step] often to get there faster.
