It is 9 pm and Adi was supposed to pick me up at 7. I hate waiting. Didn't he learn that fact on our wedding night when I was irritated at him for being late. God, men can be really ignorant.

Soon I hear the doorbell. Well, he must be here. When I see him, the first thing that I notice is that he is looking really tired. He must have overworked at the hospital. I bring him a glass of water and enquire about it.

He replies,' There was a mass trauma and I couldn't leave. I know you were waiting but I didn't get the time to call, it was a mess over there and so many patients that I had to operate'.

I reply,' It's okay. I understand. You look very tired. We should cancel our date. We can go some other day'. 'No, I want to take you out. Just give me 10 minutes to freshen up', says Adi determinedly. I agree and let him freshen up. He comes back and if possible he looks even more tired than before.

'Adi we are not going out. You are in no position to go out so stop arguing'. 'But Noor'. 'No but's, you are going back to our room to rest. And regarding the date, it's purpose is to spend some quality time together and we can still do that. I'll prepare something of your choice for dinner and then we will have it in our balcony which looks beautiful at night,if you haven't noticed it'. After saying that I go to the kitchen and start making food.

He is so stubborn. He was clearly going to fall out of exhaustion any moment and yet he wants a date. Stupid man!

I go back to our room with the food and notice that the room is dark. I place the food on the nearby table that I could make out and go ahead to switch on the light but suddenly someone holds my hand. He pulls me towards him and says,' I am sorry. I know I have managed to anger you many times within a few days of our marriage but this is who I am. I am a straightforward man and I don't mess around. I know I have been rude at times but I am going to try and tone down that part of my personality for you. I was adamant on going out for our date because I had it all planned. It was supposed to be my apology for all the times I have troubled you. But you are right. The purpose of a date is to spend time together and we can do it now. When you were making dinner I did something. I hope you will like it. Take it as my apology for everything I have done and for coming late today'.

Suddenly I see lights in the balcony and it looks beautiful. He managed to slip in a small table in the balcony with 2 chairs and with lights just enough to see each other. Also I can see some flowers placed in the area and with the moon above, it is perfect.

He is so sweet. And just today I was thinking that this marriage could be a mistake. It can never be one because I love him and when he does such sweet gestures for me, how can I not love him. I immediately pull him towards me and start kissing him. He reciprocates with equal passion.

'I love you so much that sometimes I wonder how is it even possible to love someone like this', I say to him. Adi gives me a peck and says,' I don't know. I guess I am just lucky to have you'. 'Well I feel lucky that I met you and married you, because I was so close to giving up on love when I met you. You mean the world to me Adi. Don't forget that'. After that we had our dinner in the lovely balcony. I am never going to forget this day in my life because today I realised that he does feel something for me and I have a real chance of making him fall for me.
