It's been some time since I begun my journey, me and Cole occasionally talked with each other, but most of the time we simply walked in silence.

Y/n: So, what village should we go to first?

Cole: The village of Lute is near, we could go there if you want.

Y/n: It would be great if we had a map, perhaps we can get one over there.

It took us about 5 minutes to arrive at the village. It was a village that was full of life, I really didn't mind that in the slightest. I decided to walk up to one of the villagers.

Y/n: Excuse me, is there a shop where I can get a map of Melomarc in this village?

Villager: Yes, it's right behind me, actually.

Y/n: Thank you for answering.

I called Cole over to me, it looked like he was admiring the village, I really didn't blame him for that.

After he came over to me we both entered the shop and were welcomed by the owner.

Shopkeeper: Welcome! What can I help you with?

Y/n: Do you have a map of Melomarc for sale?

Shopkeeper: I do, give me a moment to find it.

He went through a door behind him and came out with a map a minute later.

Shopkeeper: Here, it's a little old, but everything on it should be visible.

I examined it, and it was fine, I asked Cole to do the same and he agreed with me.

Y/n: Okay, how much will it be?

Shopkeeper: Normally it would be 20 silver, but since it's old I'll give it to you for 15 silver.

I gave him the money and proceeded to leave the shop.

Y/n: So, where do you think we should go?

Cole: There is a bigger village north from here, it should take about half an hour to reach.

Y/n: I see, very well. Is there anything you'd like to do before we leave?

Cole: Well, I wouldn't mind eating something before we go any further.

I simply nodded, we asked a villager for directions and went into a restaurant.

After taking a seat at a table I decided to ask:

Y/n: I'm not from around here, what do you suggest to order?

Cole: I think the today's special they have here would be good, you should try it, I'll get it too.

After a moment a waiter came up to the both of us.

Waiter: May I take your order?

Cole: The today's special twice, please.

The waiter walked away from our table and after about ten minutes, came back with our food.

Waiter: Here you go, enjoy.

The food wasn't unusual, although it was good, Cole was right about that part.

I took off my hood and decided to start eating.

Cole simply looked at me and started eating too.

Y/n: I think you're the first person so far who wasn't surprised by my face.

Both him and I laughed a little at that.

Cole: I think you look just fine.

I smiled at him after hearing that.

After eating our food I paid the waiter and we both left the restaurant.

Y/n: By the way, what's the town we're going to called?

Cole: I'm not sure, but I think it's called Riverwood.

We left the village shortly afterwards, we got attacked by monsters on the road a few times, but they weren't strong so they didn't cause us much trouble.

After twenty minutes of walking I noticed something:

Y/n: Hey, do you smell something burning?

Cole: Now that you mention it, I do.

He decided to run up the hill to look around, when I looked at him he had a terrified face.

Y/n: What's wrong?

After running up to him I realized why he reacted like that.

Riverwood, the town we were going to, was being attacked by a dragon.

Y/n: I'm assuming that's very unusual?

Cole: Dragons hardly leave their dens, a dragon attacking a village is extremely unusual.

Y/n: There's no time to wonder why this is happening, we have to help everyone evacuate!

Cole: Right!

After running for a minute we arrived at the village, or rather what was left of it.

Y/n: Evacuate the villagers, I'll lure the dragon away!

Cole: I can't leave you to fight that thing alone, I'm coming with you!

Y/n: I appreciate it, but saving the lives of the people is more important, I'll be fine! After you evacuate everyone focus on extinguishing the fire!

Cole simply nodded and started evacuating everyone. Being completely honest, I lied about being fine, this situation terrified me, something as strong as a dragon is here, and I have to fight it alone.

I fired a bullet at it's head, it turned it's attention towards me and I started running further away from the village.

Y/n: Over here! I'm your opponent!

I clearly angered it considering how quickly it came flying towards me, the only thing keeping me going was the adrenaline, without it, I probably would be frozen because of fear.

I fired a barrage of bullets at the dragon from my submachine gun, it wasn't very effective, although it did deal some damage which reassured me a little. The dragon tried to burn me with it's fire, but it ultimately failed because of my reflexes.

I reloaded my handgun and prepared myself, I shot what was left in my submachine gun at the dragon, successfully angering it. It came flying down trying to slash me with it's claws, I quickly pulled out my handgun and as it's head was mere centimeters away from me I fired a bullet at the dragon's head from point blank range.

I was lucky, and hit the dragon's eye, it roared in pain and stopped it's attempt at trying to hit me with it's claws. I quickly reloaded once again just in case it flies down again. That wasn't the case though, the dragon concentrated it's fire breath and fired a massive fireball at me. I dodged the fireball, however I didn't dodge the explosion that came afterwards.

I was launched about 20 meters away, my body hurt a lot after being smashed into the ground. I got up to notice the dragon trying to use the same technique. I didn't have time to dodge, so I bet everything on my plan. I pointed my handgun at the dragon's mouth.

Y/n:

I fired at the dragon and successfully stopped it's attack. It roared in pain once again, it tried to burn me with fire, although it couldn't. When it tried to breathe fire, nothing happened. Thankfully my plan worked, although I wasn't sure what to do now.

It quickly flew down at me, trying to bite me, it's speed surprised me and I didn't have much time to think.

Y/n:

I quickly moved out of the way and stabbed the dragon with my knife while doing so.

I immediately felt the drawback of using that skill, and nearly collapsed. What I didn't notice was the dragon coming straight at me from behind. I instantly realized that when I felt my back get slashed by it's claws, I yelled out in pain as I struggled to stand.

I was out of options, I really didn't know what to do, until a very dangerous and stupid idea came into my mind. If I failed it would be over, the same would happen if I didn't do anything. I had to bet everything on a plan once again.

As the dragon flew down charging at me once again, I quickly yelled out:

Y/n:

I jumped onto the dragon and held onto dear life. Since I was still under the effect of my skill I had some time to execute my plan. I got to the dragon's head and continuously stabbed my knife down at the part where it's brain should be, even after feeling the drawback of Time Alter I didn't stop, the dragon tried to knock me down to no avail. After about 40 stabs the dragon suddenly stopped and fell to the ground.

I got off of it and tried to walk away, unsuccessfully. I fell down to the ground. The last thing I remembered was Cole rushing my way before I passed out from the pain.
