《The Matrimony》Epilogue

All's well that ends well. Or however they say it. It had been a long time since the dreadful day I almost lost my family, that was a memory I had desperately tried to forget. After Michael had been charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, he had taken a plea deal to take the death penalty of the table. As much as I wanted him to die and burn in hell, 2 life imprisonment sentences was pretty good too. He had also renounced his rights as Benjy's father. Although this made my little boy sad as it attested to the fact that he technically didn't have a dad, his sadness had turned to immense joy the day he had been gifted with adoption papers. He was now Benjamin Edgar Delmanti.

My father had surprisingly turned over a new leaf. He apologized to Davy and I and although we forgave him, we made it clear that the relationships we had with him were too damaged to be salvaged. But he still came around. He was Benjy and Gia's only living grandparent after all.

I looked up from my book when I heard sobbing. Benjy was helping his little sister off the floor. She had been running faster than her little legs could carry her. Again.

Gianina Lucinda Delmanti was born 2 years ago. With hair as dark as her father's and eyes as blue as mine, it's safe to say she got the best of both. Alejandro had been ecstatic at the news of my pregnancy but not more than Benjy. My little man spent whatever free time he had talking or singing to the baby. Telling her about everything they were gonna do when she finally got out of my tummy. He just melted my heart with how much he loved her. They were practically inseparable. Wherever Benjy went, Gia was sure to follow. Benjy gently wiped away her tears and told her everything was going to be alright. He was such a good big brother.

I felt gentle lips on my forehead and looked up at Alejandro. I slowly tilted my head back, indicating that he had missed my lips, and with a chuckle he went to work. After a few minutes of making out, we pulled apart when we remembered our children were around. I looked on while Benjy and Gia chased each other around, content with my life.

"You know", Alejandro started, "Benjy and Gia have been complaining about having play dates. Said they're tired of playing alone"

My lips slightly lifted up at the corner. I had a feeling I knew where this was going. "Oh really?. Well what do you propose we do?"

"Well sweetheart, charity does begin at home so, how about a number three?", he leaned in.

"You know what Mr Delmanti?, I was thinking the exact same thing", I connected my lips to his.

All's well that ends well, or however they say it.
