{Song in video: XYLO - I Still Wait For You}

It was the day of the party that I still had no idea whose it was because Chelsea wouldn't tell me, which was unusual since she always told me who the host was.

"If you're not going to tell me who's throwing the party, then can you please tell me how to dress?" I told Chelsea as I rummaged through my closet.

"Definitely wear a semi-formal dress," Chelsea replied from the hallway. "Like most of your dresses."

"Alright." I nodded. I picked out a long light pink dress with matching light pink heels, and put those on, along with a few gold necklaces, black mascara, light pink eyeshadow, and light pink lipstick.

When I walked out, Chelsea grinned. "You look great."

"Thanks." I grinned back, jokingly doing a twirl. Then, I stopped, looking in the mirror. "Should I wear my hair up or down?"

"You can do either way." She shrugged.

I decided to leave my hair down, but slightly curled it. "Let me know when you're ready."

"I already am." She smiled, holding her purse.

I raised an eyebrow in surprise. "That's the first time you're early to a party."

"Yeah, I know. I just wanted to be more prepared." She shrugged. "Now, let's go."

I gave her a more suspicious look, grabbing my purse. "Okay." She probably met a guy.

We went out of the apartment, then rode in a taxi. Chelsea was texting the whole ride, looking excited.

"Is that a guy?" I asked, giving her a sly smile.

She gave me a look, grinning. "Sort of," she replied.

When we arrived, we went through the same security guy that was there when Vince's party was held. When we gave him our names, he let us through, even though he gave us a suspicious look.

I saw other people in semi-formal attire, although most were dressed formally.

As we walked through the main room, I saw Jesenia and Dave at a distance greeting people, then we made eye contact.

"No, I can't be at this party," I said to Chelsea, turning around, but then both Jesenia and Dave got to us before I could walk a few steps away.

"Stacey, I'm really sorry, but please listen to me," Jesenia pleaded. "I promise that you will have a great time, just hear us out."

I sighed. "Okay, what do you all need to tell me?"

"First, I'm really sorry about Dave and I. We shouldn't have kept that from you. I was going to tell you eventually, but didn't want to make you more upset at the time." She sighed. "Second, I invited you here because I know who sent those texts, and they will be telling you and Vince tonight."

My eyes widened. "Who sent the texts?"

"I can't tell you yet since they want to tell both you and Vince at the same time. They promised me they will come forward with it."

"Okay." I nodded, trying to take all this information in.

"I can't promise miracles with you and Vince, but at the very least it should put you guys on good terms with each other."

"Of course." I nodded.

"This is the reason I'm throwing this party in the first place. I really want to make it up to you." She smiled.

I smiled back. "Thanks so much!" I gave her a hug, and she hugged me back.

"You're welcome. It's the least I could do."

"Good luck, Stace," Dave said, smiling.

"Thanks," I said, nodding.

Jesenia turned around to see more people coming in. "I have to go talk to those people, but I'll see you later." Her and Dave walked over to a group of important looking people.

I turned to Chelsea. "Did you know about all of this?" I asked her.

"Mostly, yes. I don't know who sent the texts though. I asked Jesenia, but she didn't tell me because apparently I always blab stuff out." She shrugged.

I laughed. "Well, you probably would have accidentally told me."

"Probably." She nodded, laughing. "Now, let's see if we can spot Vince."

As we were looking for Vince, I accidentally bumped into someone who felt muscular and rock solid. "Sorry," I said, wincing as I looked up. I gasped when I noticed Jeff was here.

"Hey, I didn't know you all would be here," Jeff said, grinning. "How are you?"

"I'm doing good. How are you?" I said.

"I'm doing good myself." He glanced at Chelsea. "How about you, Chelsea?"

"I'm fine, but we're on a mission here. Sorry, we have to go," Chelsea said, grabbing my arm, then leading me away.

As I looked back, I mouthed, "Sorry," wincing as Chelsea dragged me away.

Jeff had a look of utter confusion, then shrugged as he grabbed a glass of champagne off a waiter's tray.

We looked around for about ten more minutes, almost giving up, until I saw him suddenly walk in. "Look, there's Vince!" I exclaimed to Chelsea, grinning as I tapped her arm, pointing in his direction.

"Awesome!" She exclaimed back, giving me a grin.

My face fell as soon as I noticed that Chloe, the young woman at the restaurant that was with him and Rebecca, walked in with him. "Never mind, he brought his new girlfriend."

"Oh." Chelsea's face fell. "Maybe, possibly they're just friends?"

"Yeah, maybe, possibly." I muttered.

A few minutes later, the music turned on, and people of different age groups were going on the dance floor.

"Shall we?" A male's voice said behind me.

I turned around, noticing Jeff. I glanced at Chelsea, who said, "Yeah, she'll go." She turned to me. "Don't worry about me, there's plenty of guys for me to dance with."

I smiled at Jeff. "Sure, let's go," I said to him, then he lead me to to the dance floor.

"Are you still on a mission?" He chuckled as we swayed from side to side.

I sighed, then laughed. "Not really."

"That's good, I think."

As we swayed and danced around other people, I glanced at the crowd, seeing Vince and Chloe swaying right next to us. When I was about to look away, Vince looked directly at Jeff and I, making eye contact.

At first, he had a very surprised look on his face, then he had a stern look on his face. He looked away, back to Chloe.

I sighed, turning away, looking at Jeff. I felt nervous about who the texter was, and how Vince was going to react.

"Everything okay?" Jeff asked, gazing into my eyes.

"Yeah," I said flatly.

He looked unconvinced. "Are you sure?"

I nodded. "It'll be fine."

We danced for a while longer, until I saw Rebecca stand behind Jeff. She interrupted, saying enthusiastically, "Hello, Jeff. I'm glad you made it!"

"Hey, Rebecca. I'm glad you invited me," Jeff said, smiling at her.

I glanced at Jeff and Rebecca. "How do you two know each other?" I asked.

"She came by the bar a few weeks ago," Jeff answered. "Then, we started chatting a little."

"So I invited him," Rebecca said, having her usual smirk on her face.

"Excuse us for a moment," I said to Rebecca, then led Jeff to the hallway.

Jeff gave me a confused look. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"That's Rebecca, Vince's evil sister I told you about," I replied.

His eyes widened, and his mouth dropped open. "That's her? I'm so sorry, Stacey. I had no idea."

"It's okay, you didn't know." I sighed. "I'm not sure why she invited you here, but she is not who you think she is."

"Alright, I'll try staying clear of her." He nodded. "Is this is what is this mission is about?"

"Sort of." My phone buzzed, and my mouth dropped open when I saw a text from Jesenia that said:

"Everything okay?" Jeff asked me. "You have been acting strange since I found you here."

"Yeah, I'm fine." I nodded. "Sorry, I'll be back. I have to do something important."

"Wait-"

"I'll be right back." I winced, then quickly went to the elevator to go to the next floor.

When the elevator stopped on the floor, I got out, looking for the room. I held my breath as I opened the door.

Vince and Jesenia were in the room, standing. Vince had his arms crossed, and Jesenia gave me a reassuring smile.

Before any of us could say anything, Rebecca and Chloe walked in.

"Hey, Vince, Chloe was here looking for you," Rebecca said.

Jesenia rolled her eyes. "Not the time, Rebecca. You won't be able to stop this," she said with a sharp tone in her voice.

"What are you talking about?" She had her usual pouty smirk.

"You most definitely know what I'm talking about." She narrowed her eyes.

Then, Jeff barged in the room. "Stacey, there you are," he said, coming toward me.

"What is going on here?" Chloe spoke up, looking annoyed. "And who are you all?"

"That's what I want to know." Jeff eyed everyone else suspiciously.

"I'll tell you all as soon as a certain person gets here," Jesenia said.

The door opened, and I gasped when I saw Connie walk in. "She's the texter?!" I exclaimed in shock.

"No, she's not. I don't even know who she is," Jesenia answered, looking confused.

Connie had a straight facial expression as she walked toward Jeff. "There you are," she said.

"What are you doing here?" Jeff asked Connie, looking creeped on.

"I followed you here."

"How?"

"I snuck in through the vents."

"I actually did the same thing here months ago," I piped up.

Connie turned her head slowly toward me. "Nobody asked you," she said icily.

Vince looked at Jesenia. "Is this some sort of joke?" He asked her.

"No, it's not. The texter said they will come soon," Jesenia replied.

"Then what is Anastasia's boyfriend doing here?" He glanced back and forth between Jeff and I.

"Jeff is mine!" Connie exploded, looking at me. "You two lied to me!"

"We're literally not dating," I reassured.

"It's true, we're not," Jeff said, nodding in agreement. He glanced at Vince and I. "I think I know what this mission is about so I'm going to go."

As he walked toward the door, I said, "Wait, Jeff-"

"It's okay, Stace." He smiled. "I'll talk to you later."

Connie followed after him.

Jesenia looked at Rebecca and Chloe. "Sorry if this sounds harsh, but can you two step out and go back to the party?" She said.

"Sure," Chloe muttered. Then, she looked at Vince. "I need to talk to you after this."

"We will," Vince said, nodding his head.

Chloe walked out, and Rebecca followed her, having her head up, with a pout, but she wasn't smiling or smirking this time.

Not even a minute later, we heard a knock on the door.

Jesenia went over to the door, opening it. "They're in here. Come on in," she said as she let in Mallory.

"Hey..." Mallory said nervously, sighing. "Um, I'm the texter..."

My eyes widened in surprise. "You are?" I said.

"Yes." She nodded. "And I'm extremely sorry for that."

"Why would you do that, Mallory?" Vince asked her, looking disappointed.

"I was drunk when I did this while Stacey left her phone after she babysat me, but that doesn't excuse it. When I first found the video, I thought Stacey was cheating on you, so I was really upset, and wanted to warn you. After I got sober and could think correctly, I realized that your video was from a few years ago. I had no intention of sending it to everyone on her contacts. After I realized I've done that after I sobered up, I felt bad about what I had done." She looked down at the ground, twiddling her thumbs.

"Then why didn't you tell us about it after it happened?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "I guess I was scared."

"You shouldn't have done it in the first place," Vince said sternly. "Does your mom know what you did?"

"Yes." She nodded, glancing at Vince and I. "You two should definitely back together though."

Vince and I glanced at each other awkwardly, but didn't say anything.

"We'll leave them to talk about all this," Jesenia said to Mallory, who nodded.

They walked out of the room, leaving Vince and I the only people in the room. "So..." I started off awkwardly. "Apparently, Mallory of all people is the texter."

"Yeah..." Vince awkwardly said back, coming closer to me. "Look, Stacey, I'm sorry for thinking all this time that you cheated on me."

"It's fine." I sighed. "If it was the other way around, I may have reacted the same way."

"I still should have believed you." We locked eye contact, standing there silently.

"So who is Chloe?" I broke the silence.

He sighed, scratching his head. "She's my ex-girlfriend. Rebecca met up with her in town, and told me to meet them at a restaurant about a few weeks ago."

"Oh...I see." I slowly nodded my head. "Well, I guess we don't have to really talk about anything else."

"Yes, we do." Vince gave me a stern look. "Who's that guy, Jeff?"

"He's my manager."

He crossed his arms. "So...I'm a former boss of yours, and now he's your boss. What is with you and bosses?"

"Nothing!" I exclaimed, feeling my face flush. "And, he's just a friend, nothing more."

"Friends don't give other friends hickies."

"I know." I rolled my eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you about that situation?"

"Never mind that." He sighed. "Did you invite him here?"

"No." I shook my head. "Rebecca did."

He tilted his head in confusion. "She knows him?"

"Apparently." I shrugged. "He told me that they recently met when she came by the bar, and she invited him to this party."

"That's strange." He paused for a moment. "She insisted on inviting Chloe here."

"Yeah, that is strange. So since you asked me about Jeff, I'm going to ask about Chloe. Why are you hanging out with your ex-girlfriend?"

He sighed, taking a moment to think. "Chloe told me she has a few ideas for a project at work. Although she doesn't work for me, she does know a bit about my business."

"That's...nice." I gave him a small smile.

"Yeah, but she doesn't work for me." He paused. "I am wondering if you still would like to be my secretary, since the position is still open, and Harper is doing her job and that job, which is turning to be a bit of a disaster." He chuckled.

My eyes widened, and I grinned, feeling ecstatic. "Yes, I'd love to!"

"Great." He smiled. "You can start Monday."

"Sounds great. Thank you so much!" I gave him a hug without thinking.

He gave me a hug back, then we awkwardly let go of each other. "We should probably get back to the party," he said, clearing his throat.

"Yes, we should." I nodded my head in agreement.

Vince and I walked toward the elevator in silence, and then got off where the party was held.

I was looking around for Chelsea, but right before I walked off, Vince asked, "Did you want to talk more tomorrow?"

My eyes widened in surprise. "Yeah, sounds great," I replied.

"Okay, we can meet at the park downtown at five in the evening, if that works."

"That works." I smiled.

"Great." He smiled back.

I went back over to Chelsea, who was surprisingly talking to Sanjay. Then, I noticed Jeff, who was standing by the wall, drinking champagne. I decided to go over to him instead of Chelsea, so I wouldn't interrupt her and Sanjay. At this point, everyone was eating dinner.

"Hey," I said to Jeff, sitting next to him after putting my plate down.

"Hey. How did the whole thing with you and Vince go?" He asked.

"It went well." I smiled. "He gave me back my job."

"That's great." He gave me a slight smile.

"Yeah, about that...I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to quit the bartending job." I winced, feeling bad for working there for barely a month.

"It's okay. You were a great employee for that time. Besides, you're welcome to visit whenever, especially since Chelsea works there."

"Of course." I nodded.

"So when do you start your job back?"

"Monday."

"Wow, that's quick."

"You can always hire Connie." I joked.

He laughed, shaking his head. "Yeah, I don't know about that."

"I don't blame you."

"So are you and Vince back together?"

I paused for a moment, slightly frowning. "No..."

"Oh...Sorry for asking." He scratched his head awkwardly. "At least you two are on good terms."

"Yeah, that's good."

We talked for a little while more, and then I went over to Chelsea and Jesenia, while Sanjay was talking to Vince.

"How did everything go?" Jesenia asked me, glancing at Vince from across the room.

"I'm going to go back to work at Havens Enterprise on Monday," I replied, grinning. "And Vince and I are going to talk more tomorrow."

"That's great!" Chelsea exclaimed, grinning.

"I'm sure it will go well," Jesenia said, smiling. "He seems a lot happier than what he was earlier."

"Thanks so much for this. If it wasn't for you, then everything would still be a mess." I gave her a hug.

"You're welcome. I had to make it up to you." She hugged me back.

"I'm glad you did." I paused, noticing a few people were waiting to talk to her. "We'll see you later, and we had a great time."

"Definitely fun," Chelsea added, taking a sip of champagne.

"See you later, and I'm glad everything went well. I had a great time at my own party." She laughed, then turned to the other people.

Chelsea and I went outside, then hailed down a taxi.

When we arrived home, I felt relieved and happy, knowing that Vince and I were on good terms, and that I got my job back.
