I hailed a taxi to go to the bar for my first day at work. Luckily, Chelsea had the same shift, since I was getting trained by her, so she was also in the taxi with me.

When we got out of the taxi, we went into the bar. Chelsea showed me where to clock in.

As we walked out of the employee room, Jeff came toward us with a grin. "Hey," he greeted.

"Hey," Chelsea and I greeted him back, smiling.

"As you probably know, you're going to get trained by Chelsea." Jeff looked over at me.

I nodded.

Chelsea showed me where they keep the different alcoholic drinks, what mixes they use, and how to shake the mixed drinks.

Pretty soon, there were customers coming in. A few men flirted with me and gave me their phone numbers, but all in all it was a fun atmosphere to be around.

Chelsea took a break as a young Asian woman came in when it wasn't as busy. She stood in front of me, and just stared without blinking.

"Hey, can I get you anything?" I asked her in a cheerful voice, although I was a little weirded out.

"Yes, Jeff." She nodded, still staring.

"You want me to get Jeff, the manager?"

"Yes, that's my boyfriend."

My eyes widened, and I held in a gasp. "Alright..." I went over toward the back, where Jeff was.

"Hey, Jeff," I said to him. "Apparently your girlfriend is here to see you." I gave him an annoyed look.

"What? I don't have a girlfriend." He gave me a confused look.

"Well, either way, she's here to see you. I'm not sure how or what you're going to say about yesterday, but I don't want any part of that."

He still had a confused look on his face. "There's not really much to explain, but I'll see who's there." He sighed, walking to where the woman was.

"Hey, Jeff," the woman said, staring at Jeff with no expression on her face.

"Oh...hey Connie..." Jeff greeted back. "Would you like anything to drink?"

"No, I'm here to see you. You haven't returned my texts or calls, so I wanted to make sure you weren't sick or dead."

I glanced at them, feeling even more confused.

"Well, I'm fine," Jeff said. "I've just been busy with work."

"Okay." She nodded. "Well, I'll just take a seat since it looks like you're busy."

"Okay." He nodded.

I went to Jeff, whispering, "Who the heck is that?"

"Oh, that's Connie Wu. I went on a date with her last month, and she keeps showing up here everyday since." He shrugged.

"You're just avoiding her calls?"

"Yes." He nodded.

"Why?"

"Because I keep telling her I don't want to date her, and am busy, but she just keeps showing up. She's weird." He shrugged again.

"Where did you meet her?" I laughed.

"Tinder."

"Of course you did."

"Hey, I tried different places." He shrugged. "Thought I'd at least give it a shot."

"That's what Chelsea did, but that didn't end up well."

"How did it end up?" He laughed, giving me a curious look.

"Well, it was a catfish, who was an older man, and he tried to roofie Chelsea, but Vince ended up being roofied instead."

"Oh wow, that's scary." He winced.

"We called the police, so they took care of it."

"That's good."

It got busy again towards the evening, so even after a few hours, Connie was still there, sitting at a table as she glanced back and forth at Jeff.

When it was time for Chelsea and I to go, Connie approached Jeff, and asked, "Is that a hickey on your neck?"

Jeff flushed in embarrassment, and replied, "Yeah...I got drunk last night..."

She glared at him. "Who was she?"

My eyes widened, and I gave him a look. There was no way I wanted Connie to know it was me.

"I'm not sure...I don't remember." He glanced at me nervously.

"So you made out with a random girl?" She folded her arms, glaring at him. Then, she looked over at me, still glaring. "Was it you?"

My eyes widened as I gulped. "Uh-"

"Yes," Jeff blurted out.

I gave him a glare, mouthing, "What are you doing?"

"I'll give you a raise." He mouthed back at me.

Connie glared at us, then stormed out of the bar without saying another word.

I turned to him, not knowing how to react. "Why would you do that?"

"It just kind of blurted out." He shrugged. "I'll pay you double tonight."

After he said that, I felt a bit better. "Alright, sounds good." I needed the money anyways.

Chelsea and I went over to clock out, then walked out of the bar. "That was...interesting," I said, still thinking how strange my first day at the bar went.

"Interesting things happen all the time at the bar," Chelsea said, laughing. "You'll get used to it."

"At least it won't be boring." I shrugged, laughing.

"Definitely." She grinned. "Hey, do you want me to ask Jesenia and see if we can all hang out tonight?"

"Yeah, that'll be great." I nodded.

She texted Jesenia as I hailed a taxi. We went inside, then arrived at our apartment a little bit later.

We changed out of our work outfits, then put on blouses, jeans, and heels. We were going over to Jesenia's loft to hang out.

"Come on in," Jesenia greeted us, grinning as she opened the door. She looked gorgeous as usual, as if she just came back from a modeling shoot.

"Hey," Chelsea and I greeted her back, then went over to pet her puppy, Twinkle.

"So how have you been, Stace?" Jesenia asked me, giving me a look of pity.

"I've been okay, I guess," I answered, shrugging. "I had went to my first work day at the bar with Chels."

"Yeah, and yesterday we went to the club with our manager," Chelsea jumped in. "Stacey and the manager got drunk and made out!" She laughed.

"What?" Jesenia opened her mouth in shock.

"Chels!" I exclaimed, giving her a look. Chelsea was laughing, then I turned over to Jesenia. "It wasn't supposed to happen."

"The manager had hickies on his neck, and came home with us because he was too drunk to drive. Then, the next morning, Vince comes over to give Stacey her check, and he noticed the guy. He was totally jealous!" Chelsea babbled, grinning and laughing.

Jesenia's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh..." She said, wincing in awkwardness. "Stace, if you want to get back with Vince, that's definitely not the way to go."

"I wasn't trying to. I accidentally drunk-called Vince, and told him to give me my paycheck, so he did the next morning," I explained, shrugging. I glanced at Twinkle, who was sleeping next to Jesenia on the couch, then looked back at Jesenia. "Have you talked to Vince lately?"

"I have." She nodded. "Whenever I would even go near the topic about you, he would automatically change it, or not really answer."

"Oh." My face fell. "But he's your cousin."

"Yeah, but I'm also friends with my cousin's ex-girlfriend, which is you. That's probably why he doesn't want to say much, and whatever he does say, he already said to you. He still thinks you cheated, no matter how many times I try to convince him." She glanced at her kitchen. "Anyone want any martinis?"

"Heck yes!" Chelsea exclaimed before I could say anything.

We laughed as I nodded in agreement.

Jesenia went over to the kitchen, and handed us a glass of martinis.

"So how has your love life been?" I asked Jesenia after I took a sip of my martini.

Jesenia's eyes widened, glancing down. "Uh, you know, the same," she said, half-smiling. "Just going on dates with guys, trying to figure out the one for me."

"Like who? Some hot model guys?" Chelsea asked. "I should try dating one."

"Not exactly a model." She glanced around, looking slightly nervous, as if she didn't want to talk about it. "And you dated one of the models before, remember? The one who took you to Brazil?"

"Oh yeah!" She recalled. "I don't remember why we stopped seeing each other."

"He started dating a supermodel shortly after."

"Right." She frowned, gulping down her martini.

"So who's the guy you're sort of seeing?" I inquired, smiling.

Jesenia's eyes widened again, as she almost choked on her martini. "Uh, he's not someone I'm really seeing. We just on a few dates, that's all. I don't think it's anything serious," she said.

"Oh okay." I took a few more sips of my martini.

She looked at the time on the clock. "I'm actually getting a little tired-" All of a sudden, we heard a knock at the door. "I'll get that." She got up, going over to the door.

Chelsea and I followed her over to the door.

"I'll be right back," Jesenia said, turning around to us, then quickly going outside the door.

"What do you think she's going?" I asked Chelsea.

"I don't know," Chelsea mumbled, scrolling on her phone.

"She's been acting a little weird. I think I'm going to go out and see." I walked outside, seeing Jesenia talking with Dave of all people.

I gasped, then quickly ran off. I couldn't even think, and didn't know where I was running off to. I stopped when I reached a main street, which wasn't far at all.

"Stace!" Jesenia exclaimed, running after me, with Dave following behind her.

"You lied to me," I said to her, glaring. "I was wondering why you were acting so weird."

"I just didn't want you to get hurt, especially after this whole thing that happened between you and Vince, even Dave with the video-"

"I don't want to hear it." I went on my phone to text Chelsea that I was going back home. I couldn't believe everything that was happening right now.

"Stace, please-" Jesenia pleaded.

"What's going on?" Chelsea asked as she ran toward us, looking confused. She glanced at all of us. "And why is Dave here?"

"It's a misunderstanding-" Dave interjected.

"A misunderstanding? You and Jesenia are in a relationship, and she tried covering it up. She lied to me," I interrupted. Normally, I wasn't confrontational, but this was all too much to take in.

"Wait, what?" Chelsea said in confusion, glancing at Dave and Jesenia. "You two are dating?"

"Yes," Dave and Jesenia said at the same time.

"I have to go now," I said, not being able to be around this any longer. I turned to Chelsea. "You can do whatever, but I'm getting in this taxi." I hailed a taxi, then got inside.

Chelsea glanced back and forth awkwardly, then followed me into the taxi.

We rode back home, then went inside my apartment.

"I'm sorry about what happened, Stace," Chelsea said, giving me a hug. "But I'm sure there must be some type of explanation."

"I'm not even sure why I'm so upset about this. I don't even like Dave in that way anymore, and I love Vince," I said, reflecting back on what happened.

"Probably was a contributing factor to the whole breakup thing. Especially whoever sent that video to Vince to cause this to happen." She gave me a look of pity.

"Hopefully this whole thing blows over. I really want Vince to know the truth."

"I'm sure it will happen. It usually does." She reassured me.

I nodded. "Well, I'm going to get ready for bed. This has been a weird day."

"Okay, see you in the morning."

As I went into my room, thoughts of Dave and Jesenia kept reoccuring in my head. Why do I feel like this when I don't have any feelings for Dave anymore?

I would just see how the future will be.
