As I went into work the next day, everyone kept glancing and looking at me off and on.

When Vince and I glanced at each other, he glared, then looked away, shaking his head as he went into his office.

I went over to my desk, and did my work until it was my lunch break. It was kind of hard to be there because I cried a little, but thankfully Dante was so focused on work that he didn't notice.

I noticed that I forgot to bring my lunch, then looked into my wallet, realizing that I only had enough money for the taxi ride back.

I decided to text Chelsea about that, and she told me to meet her at Tropical Smoothie.

I stopped by the bank on the way so I had enough money to get a meal.

"Hey, Chels," I greeted her as soon as I stepped into Tropical Smoothie.

"Hey, Stace," Chelsea greeted back. "How is work so far?" She winced.

"Vince glared at me a few times whenever we accidentally made eye contact."

"Oh...Well, at least you get to stay away from him for about a half an hour."

"Or not." I groaned as I saw Vince walk in. "I have to hide." I quickly went under the table.

"I'm going to talk to him." Chelsea stood up.

"No, Chels, don't!" I hissed, but she walked over to Vince, who was just a few feet away.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't Mr. Heartbreaker Havens," Chelsea said to Vince, glaring at him.

Vince gave her an annoyed look, rolling his eyes. "Hi, Chelsea," he muttered.

"You broke my best friend's heart! She didn't cheat on you, and she never would cheat on you!" She exclaimed, causing bystanders to look over.

"Look, I get you're protecting your best friend, but that's between her and I. I can't be with someone who cheats."

"Anything that upsets her means I get involved. And Stacey didn't cheat! It's obvious someone set her up."

He gave her a look of disbelief. "Why would someone set her up?"

"Because her phone got lost during the party, duh."

He looked even more confused. "Party? What are you talking about?"

"The one that Mallory had." She gasped, and I gasped when she blurted it out to him.

He looked shocked. "Mallory had a party?"

Chelsea's mouth hung open. "No...I meant Jesenia."

"Stacey lost her phone while she babysat Mallory. I remember that." He had a sharp tone to his voice, looking mad. "I can't believe she would do this."

"It's not what it seems. We tried to stop the party-"

"You were there too?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

I couldn't take it anymore, so I climbed up from under the table. "Let me explain-" I started to say.

"We'll talk in my office after lunch," Vince barked, glaring at me, then walking to the counter to order his food.

"I'm sorry, Stace. It's my fault. I accidentally told him about the party," Chelsea apologized.

"It's not your fault," I said, giving her a reassuring half-smile. "It was the truth anyways."

"I still feel bad." She winced.

We ate our food, and then I had to get back to work.

"See you later, Chels!" I exclaimed as I left.

"Okay, let me know how it goes!" Chelsea exclaimed back.

As I walked over back to Havens Enterprise, I was pondering about how mad Vince would be.

I walked into his office, noticing that he was sitting down, brushing his hands through his hair.

"Have a seat," Vince said sharply, furrowing his eyebrows.

I nodded, sitting at the chair across his desk.

"You were very irresponsible for letting Mallory throw a party," Vince said.

"I know I was. I'm very sorry, but her friends came at first without my knowledge. Then, when I told them they had to leave, a lot of other teens barged into the house to where I couldn't control it, so I texted Chelsea to come. We did try stopping the party the first time, but one of Mallory's friends tricked us by saying that she lost something, and when we were trying to help her find it, she locked us in the basement. After that, Chelsea climbed out of a window, went back into the house, and then unlocked the basement door. We tried to stop the party again, and it worked that time."

"That still shouldn't have happened in the first place." He shook his head. "I trusted you to babysit my niece for one day, and you were still irresponsible."

"I tried! What was I supposed to do? Call the police?"

"No. The whole situation shouldn't have happened, period."

"I understand that, and I'm sorry." I sighed, not knowing how I could make this situation any better. It seemed like each time I opened my mouth, the situation got worse.

Before Vince could say anything else, we got interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in," Vince called out.

Rebecca came in, having her usual pouty smirk on her face. "Hey, little brother," she greeted him. She looked over at me, frowning. "Am I interrupting something?"

"Not exactly." Vince sighed. "Is there something you need?"

"Yes, actually. I need to talk to you about something." She glanced at me, glaring.

"Alright." He nodded, then turned to me. "Anastasia, I need you to step outside for a moment."

"Okay," I said, walking out the door.

Since no one was looking, I put my ear against the door so I could hear them. I knew it was an invasion of privacy, but I had to figure out what Rebecca was going to say to him.

"Why do you still have her here?" I heard Rebecca ask Vince.

"I have her here because she does her job," I heard Vince answer her.

"But she cheated on you!"

"I know, but-"

"You don't need drama in your own workplace. Do something about it."

After that, they talked much lower, and I couldn't hear them anymore. I sighed, then went back to my desk.

About twenty minutes later, Rebecca came out of the office, and left. Vince also came out, coming over to my desk. "We'll talk more after work," he said, having a serious expression on his face.

I nodded, not saying a word as he walked past me, and back into his office.

"Hey, Dante," I called out to him.

"What is it?" Dante asked, looking up from his computer.

I frowned at his response, but ignored it. "How do you win someone back?"

"A big thing is to not cheat on them."

I rolled my eyes, sighing. "I didn't cheat on him. The videos were from a long time ago."

"I know. I was just joking." He chuckled.

I gave him a dirty look, letting him know I wasn't in the mood for jokes right now.

"Okay, sorry." He took the hint. "On a serious note, if you want Vince back, you're going to try real hard. Don't do it to the point you're annoying him, but make him believe that you did not cheat."

"I tried, but no matter what I do or say, he doesn't believe me." I sighed.

"He just needs a little time to think. Boss man is normally very rational, but at this moment, he's irrational because of what he saw. So right now, he won't believe what you're saying, but you have to find out who sent the videos, and why."

"I really want to, but I don't know how."

"Sooner or later, what really happened will come out. That's how life works."

"I do believe that." I nodded.

We went back to work, and then as soon as it was five o'clock, I quickly put my things away so I could get this talk over with Vince.

I walked into Vince's office. As soon as he looked up from his computer, he sighed.

"I'm not here to argue or start more drama," I started to say. "I'm just sorry-"

Vince interrupted, "Anastasia, I hate to say this, but you're fired." He sighed again, having a straight face.

My mouth dropped open in shock, and my eyes widened. "What?" I couldn't believe what I just heard.

"I'll give you time to pack your things." He swallowed.

"I can't believe you're doing this." I glared. "Even when I first started working here, you treated me horribly and always yelled at me."

"Anastasia, go pack your things." His voice was quiet and low, and he had a serious expression on his face.

"Whatever." I muttered, then went over to my desk to pack my things. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I started crying. I can't believe this is happening.

It took about a half an hour to pack up my things. After I was done, I went to the elevator.

I cried as I went down the elevator. I really didn't want this to happen, but Vince fired me, and there was nothing I could do about that.

I hailed a taxi, and then went home.

When I got out of the taxi, I sobbed as I went over to my apartment.

"What's wrong, Stace?" Chelsea gasped as I came in.

"Just...everything!"" I cried out.

"It'll be okay." She hugged me, patting my back.

"I got fired."

She gasped, giving me a sympathetic look. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. Have you looked for another job yet?"

"Not yet, but I'll start looking in a bit, and fill out job applications." I stopped crying, at least for now.

"I'll see if my job needs more bartenders."

"Thanks, Chels." I gave her a small smile. "I need all the help I can get right now."

"You're welcome, but I do have to get ready for work now." She winced.

"It's okay. Go make that money."

"I will!" She rushed into her room.

The doorbell rang, and I hesitated to answer it, but when it rang the second time, I stood up, slowly walking to the door. I looked through the peephole, and noticed Jesenia standing outside. I opened the door. "Hey," I greeted her, knowing I had really red puffy eyes from crying.

"Hey, Stace," Jesenia greeted me back, giving me a hug as she stepped inside. "I'm so sorry about what happened between you and Vince."

I felt tears come to my eyes again. "Thanks."

"So what exactly happened? I mean, I got the videos on text, but I was really confused by it."

I explained to her about Rebecca, babysitting Mallory, the videos from years ago that were sent to most people on my contacts, and that Vince fired me.

"He fired you?!" Jesenia gasped as her eyes widened.

"Yes." I nodded.

"Did you explain to him that the videos were from years ago?"

"I did."

"That's so weird. I'm so sorry, Stace." She gave me another hug. "I'll definitely talk to Vince."

"Chelsea already tried when we saw him during my lunch break, but it didn't work."

"Did she tell him off and act irrational?"

"Well...sort of."

"I knew it." She sighed, rolling her eyes. "I know she means well, but that just made the situation even worse."

Before I could say anything else, Chelsea came into the living room. "Hey!" She greeted Jesenia, giving her a hug. "Sorry, I can't chat, I have to go to work." She waved to us.

"Bye!" We exclaimed to Chelsea as she walked out the door.

Jesenia and I talked, and she helped me to write resumes and to look into different job applications until she had to go home.
