"Hey, Dante," I greeted Dante as I went over to my desk. "You will not believe what happened this weekend." I put my purse on my desk.

Dante gave me a suspicious look as he turned around to face me from his desk. "What are you talking about?" He asked cautiously. "Did you make the boss mad?"

"No, not at all." I rolled my eyes. "So much for thinking the best of me."

"Well, you tend to do that sometimes." He shrugged.

"I admit, I used to before I started dating him."

He chuckled. "It's alright, I'm just joking."

I scowled, rolling my eyes. "Anyways, so Chelsea and I decided to go clubbing, and I invited Vince-"

"Boss man went clubbing with you all?" He interrupted, his eyes widening.

"Yes." I gave him a look. "So, Chelsea had a date with a Russian model," I air quoted as I was speaking. "And Chelsea ended up giving my address out to the guy, who turned out to be a 50 year old man catfishing her."

"How smart."

"I know, right? I don't know why she did that." I shook my head.

"I do." He chuckled. "Because she's an airhead."

"Yeah, she kind of is." I nodded. "Anyways, the man ended up coming to my apartment door, even though Chelsea told him not to do it. I called Vince, and he showed up of course. By the time he came, the man wasn't around my apartment anymore. Later, we ended up going to a different club, and then after a while, Vince and I saw that man who was supposed to be Chelsea's Tinder date!"

"Sounds like he stalked you all there."

"He did! And he also spiked Vince's drink!"

He blinked, and his eyes widened. "What the heck?"

"Yeah, I know. I called Sanjay, and he came to help Chelsea and I to help take Vince back to my apartment."

"That's interesting. How was Vince?"

"He was okay. He couldn't walk that much, but I told him to drink plenty of water."

"Well, that sounds like you had a fun weekend."

"Yeah, it was interesting." I laughed. "So how was your weekend?"

"Oh, just had to ground my kids because they pissed off the neighbors by throwing eggs at their cars." He sighed.

I burst out laughing. "That's what Chelsea and I did when we were preteens."

"Why am I not surprised?" He muttered under his breath.

"How old are your kids anyways?"

"My daughter is fourteen, and my son is twelve."

"Ooh, they're approaching the teenage years." I raised my eyebrows, grinning.

"Don't remind me."

Sanjay walked over to us, handing Dante and I some papers. "Mr. Havens told me you two need to fill these out, and fax it over to this company." He gave us a note with the company's name.

"Okay, will do," Dante said to him. "By the way, did you really help Mr. Havens when he accidentally got roofied?"

"Mr. Havens got roofied?!" Harper blurted out in a loud voice, gasping as she passed by, then stopped. She dropped a file out of surprise.

"Shhh!" Dante and I hissed at the same time.

"Oh...sorry." She winced, picking up her file.

"I'll tell you about it later," I said, sighing. "Just don't tell anybody."

"I won't." She shook her head. "I'll be going now." She walked over to her desk.

Sanjay turned to Dante. "To answer your question, yes I did help Mr. Havens," he said.

"Okay, just thought I'd check, and make sure."

"Hey, what does that mean?" I cried out.

"It means I was just making sure it was true." He shrugged. "Although, sadly, even though it doesn't sound true, coming from you, I knew deep down it was."

"Whatever, Dante." I rolled my eyes at his witty comment.

All of a sudden, I saw a beautiful woman with short brunette hair, who looked to be her in her mid-30's, step outside of the elevator onto our floor. She was wearing black sunglasses, a classy light pink blouse with matching light pink lipstick, black pencil skirt, and black stiletto heels, with a black Michael Kors purse.

As soon as I saw the woman, I instantly felt intimidated by her. I normally don't feel intimidated by anybody, but I could tell that was someone I did not want to get on the bad side with.

"Where's Mr. Havens?" The woman walked up to us, asking.

"He's in his office, ma'am," I said, smiling. "Would you like me to get him for you?"

"Yeah, go. I don't have time." She said in a snappy tone, shooing me to go find him.

"Okay." I nodded, quickly going to Vince's door so the scary woman can see him with whatever she needed to tell him.

I knocked on his door, then walked in. "Hey," I greeted him, and he looked up. "There's a woman that would like to speak with you urgently." I emphasised on the word 'urgently.'

"Hey," Vince greeted back. "And alright, that's probably Rebecca." He got up from his seat, then walked out of his office toward the woman.

Wait...Rebecca...that must be Vince's older sister.

I looked over at them.

"Hello, little brother," Rebecca greeted him, smiling. "You're looking happier than usual."

"Hey," Vince greeted her back, giving her a quick hug. "And yes I am, actually."

"That's good." She nodded. "And I do need to speak to you in private."

"Alright, follow me."

They walked into his office.

"Not her again," Dante muttered, rolling his eyes.

"I can't believe that's Vince's sister," I said. "She seems kind of scary."

"Kind of?" He gave me a look, then laughed. "She's pure evil."

I looked at Sanjay, who nodded his head. "It's true," he said. "If something doesn't go her way, then you don't want to be around her, because she takes it out on anyone she sees."

"Does she come here often?" My eyes widened.

"Not really," Dante said. "But whenever she does, we prefer to stay out of her way, unless she speaks to us or asks us something."

Just then, Rebecca and Vince walk out of the office. "Oh yeah, I would like to introduce you to someone special," Vince said to her, as they were walking toward me. "Rebecca, this is my girlfriend, Stacey Marks."

"Hey, nice to meet you," I said to her, smiling. "I love your fashion designs."

"Oh, so that's your girlfriend?" Rebecca said to Vince, scrunching her nose as she was pointing at me.

"Yes," Vince said, nodding.

"Oh okay." She nodded, looking at her watch. "I've got to get going, I'm already behind schedule."

"Okay," Vince said. "I'll see you later."

"Nice to meet you!" I exclaimed, trying to make effort.

"You too," she muttered as she walked away.

Yikes, that seemed like a cold shoulder.

"Hey, Stacey, I was wondering if you were busy this weekend," Vince said.

"No, not at all. Why?" I said to him, trying to forget my encounter with Rebecca.

"Great." He smiled. "And because Rebecca is having a fashion show, and I can bring a guest."

"A fashion show?" I grinned. "That sounds great, I've never been to any of those."

"I'm sure you'll love it. We'll also have dinner with her, and some of her employees."

"Oh okay." Even though I didn't really want to eat dinner with Rebecca, I decided it was still a great opportunity to get on her good side. She probably was just having a bad day. She'll probably be much happier at her own fashion show.

I went back over to Dante and Sanjay, who were only standing a few feet away.

"Dang, she gave you the cold shoulder," Dante said to me, shaking his head as he chuckled.

"Are you actually going to that fashion show?" Sanjay asked me, looking surprised.

"Yes, I am," I said in a confident tone, but I was also trying to convince myself. "She was probably just having a bad day."

"You mean like everyday?" Dante said, laughing.

"I hope all goes well," Sanjay said to me, giving me a sympathetic look.

"I'm sure it will," I said, not feeling one hundred percent convinced. I was already wondering what I should wear, what type of makeup to put on, and how to act around Rebecca so she could like me, or at least hate me less.

I should definitely buy Rebecca Conrad's clothes from her store. She will be impressed that I wear the clothing she designed.

During lunch break, I quickly got lunch, and then went over to her store.

As soon as I walked in, the women who worked there gave me stares. One even rolled her eyes, and made a disgusted face.

This was probably a mistake.

"Do you need any help?" A lady asked from the back, approaching and walking toward me.

"No, thanks. I'm just looking," I said.

"Is this your first time here?"

"Yes, it is." I nodded, wondering what she was going to say next.

"Well, if you're looking for Rebecca's newest designs, they are right here by the front." She pointed at a few dresses, slacks, skirts, and blouses that were only a few feet away. "If you need any help, then just ask me." She smiled.

"Okay, thanks." I smiled. At least there's one nice person working here.

I looked at the newest designs, and unfortunately it was around a few thousand dollars, give or take. I sighed, then walked toward the back of the store, where the sales were.

I gasped when I saw to what seemed like the perfect outfit. There was a gray and pink dress, pink stilettos, and a matching gray and pink purse on a mannequin.

I have to get this.

I looked at the prices on it, and in total, it costed $7,975.

Well, never mind that.

I sighed, then glumly walked out of the store. I should have known that her clothes would be way past my budget.

I decided that I would wear one of my nicer outfits, but I didn't know which one yet. If Rebecca hates it, then that would be her problem because at least I tried. I knew Vince liked nice, classy clothing, but he never cared about designer brands, which one of the many things I liked about him.

I went back to my apartment, and then went over to Chelsea, who was sitting on the couch, watching T.V.

"How was your job interview?" I asked as I sat down next to her.

"It was great,"" Chelsea said, grinning. "I got the job!"

"That's great. I'm so happy for you!" I gave her a hug. "Just for that, I'm going to cook for tonight."

"Awesome." She muted the T.V. "So how was your day?"

"It was interesting." I made a confused face about what happened earlier.

"What do you mean?" She laughed.

I explained to her what happened with meeting Rebecca, and that I was invited by Vince to go to Rebecca's fashion show.

"She seems like an evil snob," Chelsea said, frowning. "I like her clothes and stuff, but that's really weird."

"Yeah, I know, but apparently she's always like that." I shrugged. "Dante and Sanjay told me."

"That's not good." She winced. "That's cool you get to go to a fashion show though."

"Yeah, that's awesome." I grinned.

I went over to the kitchen, and then cooked spaghetti and meatballs for the two of us.
