"Where is this place again?" Chelsea asked as we got in the taxi. We were on our way to the business charity event.

"It's at a hotel nearby," I said.

It snowed a little the past few days, but it stopped now, at least for the time being. It was still chilly, so we wore winter clothes.

Chelsea wore a black dress, black pantyhose, and a brown coat. I wore an ivory sweater dress, gray coat, plaid tights, and black boots.

A few minutes later, we arrived in front of the hotel.

"So what do we do at these types of things?" Chelsea asked as we walked inside.

"Um, donate money..." I said, trying not to laugh.

The room was a decent size. There were a lot of white tables and chairs to sit at, and there were also plates, silverware, and glasses set up. Everyone was dressed in business clothes, which thankfully Chelsea and I were too.

I looked around and noticed my parents talking to a few different people. I decided to wait until they were done talking to them.

"Good evening," my mom said to us, smiling, and then giving us a hug.

"Hello," my dad said, giving me a slight smile.

"Is there anything I can do to help out?" I asked them.

"Not at the moment." My dad glanced around. "Just in case you didn't know already, there are seating arrangements. There are papers in the back that says where you sit."

"Oh okay." I nodded. "Well, I'll let you to get back to whatever you were doing. Mr. Havens and some of my coworkers will be coming."

"Excellent. Thank you very much, Anastasia." He smiled, and then him and my mom walked over to a couple of people.

Chelsea and I went over to the back to see where we were assigned to sit.

"Hey, we're assigned to the same table," Chelsea pointed out.

"So is Mr. Havens," I said, grinning.

She grinned. "That's awesome." Then, she had a straight facial expression. "Yeah, and I just noticed Dave is also assigned at our table."

"Oh really?" I looked over at the paper, and sure enough, Dave's name was on it.

"I see Mr. Havens." She pointed across the room at him talking to a few people.

"We should go over there."

"Sure." She shrugged, and we started walking towards Mr. Havens.

Right before I got to him, I heard a voice behind me say, "Stacey."

I turned around, and noticed Dave standing there. "Hey," I said to him.

"Hey." He smiled. "So how have you been?"

"I've been doing well. How about yourself?"

"I've been doing great. My business is growing, so everything is good."

"That's great." I grinned. "I knew you could do it."

"Yeah." He glanced around, and looked back at me. "Well, I just wanted to see how you were doing. I have to talk to some people, but I'll see you later." He smiled, and walked away.

I looked at Chelsea, who was on her phone. "I'm done talking, Chels."

"Oh okay," Chelsea said, nodding as we were about to walk over to Mr. Havens.

"Welcome everybody, you may now go over and take your seats," a man, who I assumed was my dad's boss, said into the microphone.

Chelsea and I turned around, and went over to our seats. Mr. Havens was going to sit at our table anyways.

A few minutes later, Mr. Havens, Dave, and a few others sat at our table.

I noticed Liz sitting at a table next to us. "Hey, Liz," I whispered to her, waving and smiling.

"Hey, Stace," Liz whispered back, smiling.

The man started talking on the microphone again, and had a speech about his business, the charity, and a few other topics.

About ten minutes into the speech, I noticed Chelsea texting someone on her phone.

"Chels," I whispered to her.

"What?" She whispered back, looking up from her phone.

I glanced at her phone. "Not now."

"But I'm bored."

I shrugged, and she put her phone away.

The man wrapped up the speech, and then we were served dinner.

"Hey, Mr. Havens," I greeted him, smiling.

"Hey," Mr. Havens greeted, smiling back. "This is a great charity so far."

"Yeah, it is."

"Your father and his boss have done a great job with the charity so far."

"Thanks." I grinned. "Have you met them?"

"As a matter of fact, yes I have. They are great in their work of business." He nodded.

"Yes, they are." I nodded in agreement.

Before I could say anything else, Dave interrupted, "Hey, Stacey."

"Hey," I greeted him back. Although I really wanted to talk to Mr. Havens, I didn't want to ignore Dave.

"So I just realized that your dad is a part of this charity."

"Yeah, he's helping his boss with the charity." I smiled.

"You know, he actually remembered me? He was so surprised that I became a CEO." He chuckled, taking a sip of a glass champagne.

"Really?" I laughed. "Yeah, he must have been quite shocked. You were really different last time he saw you."

Mr. Havens glanced at us, and then started talking to someone at our table.

"He was," Dave said, chuckling. "You should have seen his reaction."

I glanced at Chelsea, who was happily chatting away with Sanjay. I turned back to Dave. "I can only imagine."

All of a sudden, a guy came up to Dave, and started talking to him about the charity, and other business matters. Dave turned to me. "Hey, I'm going to talk to you later. I'll see you around."

"Okay, I'll see you whenever I see you."

Dave got up from his seat.

I turned back to Mr. Havens, who was now eating the food on his plate.

"Stace, do you know where the bar is?" Chelsea asked me.

I looked around. "I don't see a bar...I think it's all served to us," I said.

"Ugh, I could really use another glass of champagne." She saw a waiter pass by. "Hey, can you give me another glass of champagne?"

"I don't know if we have anymore left, but I can look," the waiter said.

"Oh okay."

A few minutes later, the waiter came back with another glass of champagne for Chelsea. "Here you go," he said.

"Thank you," Chelsea said happily, and then took a sip from her glass. She continued talking to Sanjay.

Mr. Havens glanced at Chelsea, and then made eye contact with me, chuckling. "Hey, I'm going to go donate to the charity. If you haven't already, did you want to come with me?" He asked me.

I blinked, not saying anything for a few seconds. Did he actually say that? When I realized he was waiting for my response, I said with a grin, "Yeah, of course."

We got up from our seats, and went towards the back to donate to charity.

"Vincent Havens?" I heard a familiar voice say from behind us. I turned around, and realized it was Liz.

Mr. Havens stood there, and then said, "Elizabeth?"

"Yes, that's me." She grinned. "I remember you from high school."

"Oh yes, you were in my graduating class." He glanced at Liz and I. "You two are sisters..."

"Yes, we are," I said, grinning.

"It took me a few seconds, but then I realized you two have the same last name."

The three of us chatted for a bit, and then the man on stage talked into the microphone again, telling everyone to take their seats.

Liz said to Mr. Havens, "Well it was nice briefly catching up with you. I'm going to sit back down." She turned to me. "And Stacey, I'll see you later."

Mr. Havens and I nodded as Liz walked away.

We walked over to our seats, and then listened to the man giving a summary of what happened at the charity.

After he was done, we clapped, and then we got up.

I grabbed my purse, and walked over to my parents. "Hey," I said to them.

"Hello again, Anastasia," my dad said. "Thank you so much for coming." He gave me a slight smile and a nod.

"You're welcome. You and everyone else that helped with this charity did a great job."

"We are glad that could help us out too," my mom said, giving me a smile.

After briefly talking to them, we hugged and then I went to go look for Chelsea.

"Would you like me to take you home?" I heard a voice ask behind me.

I turned around, and noticed it was Mr. Havens. "Who, me?" I said, looking slightly confused.

"Yes you, Anastasia." He chuckled.

"Yeah, sure. I'll just go and tell Chelsea...if I can find her." I glanced around the room, and then noticed her talking to Jesenia. "There she is. I'll be right back."

I walked over to Chelsea. "Hey, I'm just letting you know that Mr. Havens will be dropping me off home," I said to her.

"That's great," Chelsea said, grinning. "You can go."

I grinned back, waving as I walked away. I went over to Mr. Havens. "I'm back. We can go whenever you're ready."

"Good," Mr. Havens said, nodding his head once.

We walked outside and went to his car.

"It hasn't been too long since I last rode in your car," I said, grinning as we drove off.

"No, it hasn't," Mr. Havens said, having a slight smile on his face. "I'm going to need you to put in your address on the GPS since I don't know how to get there from here."

I nodded, and then put my address in the GPS. "There, I got it," I said.

He slightly nodded his head, still having a smile on his face. "So if I remember correctly, your dad is an accountant and your mom is a fashion designer?"

I looked at him, surprised that he remembered that. "Yes, they are." I nodded. "So what about your parents? What do they do?"

"My dad is now retired. He used to own Havens Enterprise, but then he handed the business over to me after he retired. My mom is a lawyer, a very successful one at that."

"Wow, that's great." I gave him an impressed look. "You and your dad did a great job with the business."

"Thank you." We were now driving on my street.

"You're welcome."

"What are your parents name again? I met them at the charity, but I don't remember at the moment."

"Steven and Denise."

"That's right. That sounds familiar now."

We parked next to my building, similar to last time. "You know, Anastasia, you do a great job at work, and I appreciate it."

I blinked in surprise of his compliment. "Thanks, I try." I grinned.

He smiled back, and we gazed at each other for a few seconds.

"Well, I better get going," I said, taking my purse out of the car. "Thank you for picking me up, Mr. Havens."

"You're welcome, and it was no problem. I'll see you at work." He smiled.

"See you then." I waved with a smile.

I walked over to my apartment, happy that today turned out to be great.
